    - by Niro
    Im trying to change height of Layouts through the code without success. I've tried all of the examples i saw here and other site and my app just keep shutting down. xml code: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:id="@+id/main_lay" android:orientation="vertical" tools:context=".MainActivity" > <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/layout_add" > </LinearLayout> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="50dp" android:background="@color/green"> <ImageView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:contentDescription="@string/desc" android:layout_height="45dp" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical|left" android:scaleType="fitStart" android:background="@color/orange" android:src="@drawable/logo" > </ImageView> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout> Java code: main_layout=(LinearLayout)findViewById(R.id.main_lay); main_layout.setLayoutParams(new FrameLayout.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT,LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT)); main_layout.setBackgroundResource(R.color.white); layout_add = (LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.layout_add); layout_add.setLayoutParams(new FrameLayout.LayoutParams(LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT,50 )); layout_add.setBackgroundResource(R.color.dark_grey); I cant understand what im doing wrong. I've tried different ways to fix it. The Backround setting is working fine.   • CSS * {margin: 0;padding: 0;} override

    - by StealthRT
    Hey all, i am in need of some help with figuring out how to override the "* {margin: 0;padding: 0;}" in my css. The reason why is that i have this css: .postcomments { width: 547px; padding: 5px 5px 5px 5px; margin: 0 0 5px 0;} .postcomments a { text-decoration: underline;} .postcomments ul { margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style-type: none;} .postcomments ul li { width: 547px; margin: 0 0 5px 0; padding: 0; list-style-type: none;} .postcomments .right { color: #474747; font-size: 11px; background: #fff url('http://www.nextbowluser.com/img/ucBG.gif') no-repeat top left; line-height: 17px; padding: 5px 0 0 0; width: 430px; position: relative; float: right; min-height: 50px;} .postcomments .right .bottom { padding: 0 5px 15px 5px; background: #fff url('http://www.nextbowluser.com/img/ucBG.gif') no-repeat bottom right; min-height: 50px;} .postcomments .arrow { left: -15px; top: 20px; position: absolute;} .avatar { border: none !important;} .postcomments .left {float: left; margin: 0 7px 0 0;} .postcomments .gravatar { background: #fff; width: 80px; height: 60px; margin: 0 0px 0 0; padding: 3px;} .postcomments .name { font-size: 11px; margin: 2px 0 0 0; color: #000;} .avatar { border: none !important;} and it displays just fine WITHOUT the * {margin: 0;padding: 0;}: 1st comment 2nd comment 3rd comment However, when i add that to the CSS, it makes the comments stack wrong: 1st comment 2nd comment 3rd comment I would just take out the * {margin: 0;padding: 0;} but some other things on the page needs that in order for that to be displayed correctly. So my question is, how can i override the {margin: 0;padding: 0;} for just that postcomments part of the page? Thanks! :o) David

  • FloatableWindow resizes Grid in Silverlight

    I'm trying to use Tim Heuer's FloatableWindow control for a non-modal options window in my Silverlight application. However, I'm running into a problem with the FloatableWindow resizing it's parent grid when it opens. For example, before I open the window the application looks like this: But after opening the window, the first row of the grid expands: I'm currently setting FloatableWindow.ParentLayoutRoot to the LayoutRoot grid in MainPage.xaml. Is this the right thing to do? How can I prevent the grid from resizing when the FloatableWindow opens?

  • Android ScrollView Not Scrolling Correctly

    - by user3133534
    I've been making my way through thenewboston's android tutorials and I'm stuck on number 35. There is supposed to be a scroll bar that takes up a weight of 30 at the top of the app. There are 6 textview/edittext field groups in the code, but I deleted 5 for simplicity. My problem is that all of the text and text boxes appear on the page and are not confined to the given weight (they all just show up on the page). Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? Please, I'm new to stackoverflow. If you think this is a stupid question, please explain to me why and how I can ask it better. Here is what it looks like: http://imgur.com/gJmOgqk <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" android:weightSum="100" > <ScrollView android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_weight="30" > <LinearLayout android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" > <TextView android:id="@+id/textView1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="TextView" /> <EditText android:id="@+id/editText1" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:ems="10" > </EditText> </LinearLayout> </ScrollView> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_weight="40" android:orientation="vertical" > <Button android:id="@+id/button1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Button" /> </LinearLayout> <LinearLayout android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_weight="30" android:orientation="vertical" > <AnalogClock android:id="@+id/analogClock1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout>

  • Is there a WPF "WrapGrid" control available or an easy way to create one?

    - by Jason Coyne
    Essentially I want a wrapPanel, but I would like items to snap to a grid rather than be pressed up to the left, so I can get a nice uniform looking grid, that automatically consumes available space. WrapPanel handles the resize part. WPF.Contrib.AutoGrid handles a nice automatic grid. Anyone got a control that combines them? My use case is I have a series of somewhat irregularly shaped controls. I would like them to appear in nice columns so the wrap panel should snap to the next "tabstop" when placing a control

  • Error when importing com.google, com.android.internal.Telephony, etc.

    - by psyhclo
    Hey, I've downloaded the android source code for CallLog, Contacts, Dialing in this link http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/packages/apps/Contacts.git;a=tree But now, when I try to import this package on Eclipse, imports like: com.google, com.android.internal.Telephony, com.android.internal.R, com.google.android.collect, android.provider.ContactsContract.Intents.UI, android.provider.ContactsContract.SearchSnippetColumns, android.provider.ContactsContract.ProviderStatus, android.provider.ContactsContract.ContactCounts, android.content.IContentService, android.provider.ContactsContract.Intents.UI And many other imports, show errors saying it cannot be resolved. So my question is, why it shows this errors? Why I cant implement it without this errors? I use the Google APIs, I've created the project from an existing source code, but I dont know why this happens. Thanks.

    Good day, I've been trying to build a perfect footer who sticks at the bottom of the browser window after it's content. And I got help here @ Stack Overflow previously. • How to keep relative position of WPF elements on background image

    - by Masterfu
    Hi folks, I am new to WPF, so the answer to the following question might be obvious, however it isn't to me. I need to display an image where users can set markers on (As an example: You might want to mark a person's face on a photograph with a rectangle), however the markers need to keep their relative position when scaling the image. Currently I am doing this by using a Canvas and setting an ImageBrush as Background. This displays the image and I can add elements like a Label (as replacement for a rectangle) on top of the image. But when I set a label like this, it's position is absolute and so when the underlying picture is scaled (because the user drags the window larger) the Label stays at it's absolute position (say, 100,100) instead of moving to the new position that keeps it "in sync" with the underlying image. To cut the matter short: When I set a marker on a person's eye, it shouldn't be on the person's ear after scaling the window. Any suggestions on how to do that in WPF? Maybe Canvas is the wrong approach in the first place? I could keep a collection of markers in code and recalculate their position every time the window gets resized, but I hope there is a way to let WPF do that work for me :-) I am interested in hearing your opinions on this. Thanks

  • CSS / HTML centering a textbox

    - by Robert
    This should be easy but its proving difficult... My element I want centred is exactly this <input type="text"> I don't want the text centred, just the text box within the outer div. This is my attempt which is not working <div class ="temp123"> <input type="text" /> </div> Where: .temp123 { margin: 0 auto; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } The text box remains on the left. The outer div has a fixed with of 300px and itself is centered using margin: 0 auto;

  • Optimized graph drawing for the web

    - by Andreas Petersson
    Having seen some suggestions for graphs, I wonder what's the optimum for my problem. I want to render a directed graph to a servlet/picture that is displayed in the browser. There should be some kind of optimization of position. No dependency to Swing would be preferred. Algorithms are not important, since the structure of the graph is determined by business logic. It would be desired to be able add labels to edges as well. it would be optimal if i can serve this as png/svg. Which library/service would you recommend? clarifications: 1) The question is all about Graphs - like Directed Acyclic Graph - NOT - Charts. 2) flot, Google Charts - cannot plot graphs, only charts, or have i missed something? 3) no i do not need interactivity 4) graphviz would be nice, but the grappa java library is quite outdated and is built upon swing/awt. while it may be theoretically possible to render swing to images, it would not be my favorite way to to so in a server-app. 5) it would be fine to use an online service where the images are not hosted locally. edit: added links to Wikipedia to clarify graph/chart term

  • Getting overflow-y:scroll to work with fixed positioning html & css

    - by Vagabond_King
    I have a Jquery tools scrollable thats set to be fixed to the bottom of the browser window. Ideally i would just like to get a overflow-y:scroll; working for the page as a whole when the browser is < 700px. (so no content gets hidden, as its all fixed place). This feels like it should be simple but its causing me huge headaches. js solutions are fine at this point. Thanks in advance. <body> <div id="background"> <div id="fix_to_floor"> <div class="scrollable"> <div class="frame"> <div class="page" id="page1"> <div class="inner_page"> <h2>About Us</h2> <p>content</p> <div class="floor_items"> <img src="images/chair_n_hole.png" width="950" height="700" alt="Chair N Hole"> </div> </div> </div> <div class="page" id="page2"> <div class="inner_page"> <h2>page 2</h2> <p>content</p> <div class="floor_items"> <img src="images/spachairs.png" width="950" height="700" alt="Spachairs"> </div> </div> </div> <div class="page" id="page3"> <div class="inner_page"> <span class="copy"> <h2>Products</h2> </span> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </body> body { width: 100%; bottom:0px; position: fixed; } div#background{ height:948px; width:100%; background: #DDD url('../images/working_bg.jpg') repeat-x fixed bottom center; bottom:0px; overflow: scroll; } div#fix_to_floor{ position: fixed; margin: 0 auto; bottom:0px; height: 700px; width: 1700px; } .content img{ position: absolute; bottom: 0; } #content div.floor_items{ position: absolute; bottom:0; width:1700px; width: 950px; height: 700px; } /* **** specific page backgrounds */ /* page 3 - Products */ #page3 .inner_page{ background: url('../images/display.png') no-repeat scroll bottom center; z-index: 50; } #page3 .copy{ float: left; margin: 100px 300px; } #page1 div.floor_items img{ margin: 0 0 0 0px; } /********* SCROLLABLE *********/ div.scrollable{ bottom: 0; position: relative; /* required*/ overflow:hidden; width:1700px; height: 700px; left:0px; } /* needs to be huge and fixed. holds the content */ div.scrollable div.frame{ width: 20000em; position: absolute; height: 700px; } /* single item , must bve floated for horiz. scrolling*/ div.frame div.page{ float:left; width: 1700px; height: 700px; margin: 0; } div.page div.inner_page{ width:950px; height:700px; margin: 0 370px; /* border: 1px solid red;*/ }

  • How would you justify text in Silverlight?

    - by PaulJ
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to justify read-only text (rendered into a TextBlock) in Silverlight 2? WPF supports text justification by way of the TextAlignment enumeration: public enum TextAlignment { Left, Right, Center, Justify // <--- Missing from Silverlight :( } However, Silverlight 2 only supports the following: public enum TextAlignment { Center, Left, Right } Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received.

  • How to programatically set drawableLeft on Android button?

    - by Frank LoVecchio
    I'm dynamically creating buttons. I styled them using XML first, and I'm trying to take the XML below and make it programattic. <Button android:id="@+id/buttonIdDoesntMatter" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:text="buttonName" android:drawableLeft="@drawable/imageWillChange" android:onClick="listener" android:layout_width="fill_parent"> </Button> This is what I have so far. I can do everything but the drawable. linear = (LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.LinearView); Button button = new Button(this); button.setText("Button"); button.setOnClickListener(listener); button.setLayoutParams( new LayoutParams( android.view.ViewGroup.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT, android.view.ViewGroup.LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT ) ); linear.addView(button);
