• Ruby Net::SMTP - Send email with bcc: recipients

  I would like to use Ruby Net::SMTP to send email. The routine send_message( msgstr, from_addr, *to_addrs ) works well in my code for sending email, but it is not clear from this API how to send email to a list of people that need to be blind copied (bcc:). Am I missing something, or is it just not possible with Net::SMTP?

  Hi, In the weather.com site it has forecast for 10 days. For example, in this url: http://www.weather.com/weather/narrative/GRXX0004 I cannot seem to find a feed for that kind of data. Could I pull a feed for each one of those days? Is there something I am missing? How could I easily parse data for 10 days? Thank you!

• Should I unit test the model returned by DefaultModelBinder?

  I'm having some trouble unit testing the model returned by DefaultModelBinder. I want to feed in a fake form collection and check the model that it returns to make sure model properties are being bound properly. In my research, I'm not turning up -any- resources on testing the DefaultModelBinder. Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I shouldn't be testing this part of MVC? Your thoughts?

  I found this regex statement on the wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentence_boundary_disambiguation) for Sentence boundary disambiguation, but am not able to use it in a Ruby split statment. I'm not too good with regex so maybe I am missing something? This is statment: ((?<=[a-z0-9)][.?!])|(?<=[a-z0-9][.?!]\"))(\s|\r\n)(?=\"?[A-Z]) and this is what I tried in Ruby, but no go: text.split("((?<=[a-z0-9)][.?!])|(?<=[a-z0-9][.?!]\"))(\s|\r\n)(?=\"?[A-Z])")

• Error with using "dynamic" keyword in Silverlight app

  I get the following error: "One or more types required to compile a dynamic expression cannot be found. Are you missing references to Microsoft.CSharp.dll and System.Core.dll" I do have System.Core.dll, do have I to find Microsoft.CSharp somewhere? It wasn't part of the project and it isn't in the references list.

  Hi, I built the asp.net website in release mode, set the debug flag to false in web.config, but still some of the webresource.axd and scriptresource.axd and javascript files are not getting cached. fiddler shows the status code "200" for these items instead of "304". what else I am missing to cache these files? thanks in advance RK

• NSString copy not copying?

  NSString *myString = @"sample string"; NSString *newString = [NSString stringWithString: myString]; If I set a breakpoint after these two lines, the pointer for myString is the same as the pointer for newString. WTF? Isn't NSString copy supposed to return a pointer to a new object? Or am I missing something fundamental about how copy is supposed to work?

• Hungarian in VBA okay?

• How to call bash process from within django / wsgi?

  I'm using mod_wsgi apache2 adapter for a django site and I like to call some bash process within a view, using the usual ... p = subprocess.Popen("/home/example.com/restart-tomcat.sh", shell=True) sts = os.waitpid(p.pid, 0)[1] ... This code works perfectly from within a usual python shell but does nothing (I can trace right now) when called within django. Am I missing some wsgi constraints? The script has 755 perms, so it should be executable. Thanks.

  Hey, I want to make an little window like the sort of thing used by Teamspeak/Ventrillo or Steam/xFire where a window can be shown while still in a fullscreen game using Java. There was a similar question/answer ("How to create an overlay window in Java?") but that doesn't work for the particular game (EVE) whereas the previously mentioned overlays work just fine. What's the missing element? Or is it an entirely different method?

• Why must named functions be in a separate file in hugs?

  In Haskell in 5 steps the factorial function is defined as follows: let fac n = if n == 0 then 1 else n * fac (n-1) But for hugs, it says that fac needs to be in fac.h. Can anyone explain why this is the case - missing the ability to define recursion seems like a massive limitation for an interpreter?

• FastMM log to file without FullDebugMode

  I'd like to get FastMM memory leak report that shows up on app shutdown, but in a file instead of the dialog box. The idea is to use it in a release build as I have trouble reproducing the leaks. I would however prefer to not use the FullDebugMode which seems to be required for logging to a file. Am I missing anything or is this not supported ?

  Here is an old add in to quickly comment out HTML code. Maybe I am missing it, but it seems like there is a shortcut in VS2010 to scratch your tail with one click but commenting out HTML code is still awkward as hell.   Hi, I'm new to Android and trying to convert a Windows Mobile app to java/android. In WM there are the followning standard folders: Inbox,Sent, dratfs, outbox, deleted. I'm able to access all folders except deleted with Uri.parse("content://sms/XXXXXX") 1) Is deleted folder missing? 2) Is it possible to create user folders, like "content://sms/My Folder" Thanks, Nicholas

• Unloading vertex buffers in OpenGL

  I have an Android live wallpaper that I suspect is leaking memory, probably either textures or vertex arrays. I'm calling glDeleteTextures on my texture IDs, but don't see any sort of equivalent for my vertex buffers. I'd like to be able to be sure both my textures and buffers are getting unloaded by OpenGL, am i missing something? The documents I've found seem to suggest OpenGL just works it out on its own, but that's not giving me a lot of comfort.

• #validate does not seem to work correctly with :on => :create/:update

  Greetings, I have a custom validation in my exemplary Movie model: class Movie < ActiveRecord::Base validate :it, :on => :create private def it self.errors.add 'foo', 'bar' end end This works on movie creation but also on updating an existing movie. :on => :update will also work for both.
