• Making a tab key on the right side of a full sized mac keyboard

  I use mac OSX with a full sized keyboard (F1-F19, number pad arrow keys and FN, Home, End, Page UP/Down delete mini pad above the arrow keys). My mouse is on the left side of the keyboard. This allows use of the return key, the arrow keys and the number pad etc. with my right hand. I would like to assign a key or key combination on the right side of the keyboard to operate the same as the tab key. I am thinking a Function key or the Home key, or FN+?? I have QuickKeys and could use that if someone knows how. If there is no way to make a key the equivalent of the tab key, then at the least I would like to make some equivalent to Cmd+Tab that I can use with my right hand. Thanks for any help and ideas.

• Hyper-V Manager right clicking on remote VM causes MMC error

  I have a Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Server with SP1 that I log into and use to manage virtual machines running on multiple HyperV servers on our domain. Sometimes when I right click on a remote VM the HyperV Manager will crash and display the following error message: If I use the Actions menu on the lower right it works just fine, but for some reason right clicking cause MMC to stop working. • .net difference between right shift and left shift keys

  I am currently working on an application which requires different behaviour based on whether the user presses the right or left shift key (RShiftKey, LShiftKey), however when either of these keys is pressed I only see ShiftKey | Shift. Is there something wrong with my keyboard? (laptop) do I need a new keyboard driver/keyboard in order to send the different key commands maybe... This is a pretty massive problem at the moment, as there is no way of testing that the code works (apart from unit tests). Anyone had any experience of the different shift/alt/ctrl keys?

• Right Clicking Network File Very Slow Over VPN

  I am having real troubles with a VPN connection. The VPN connection is not used for a internet connection just for file browsing. File browsing is slow, taking about 3-4 seconds to bring up a list of folders. I can live with this, however the problem is when I right click on a file. Sometimes the right click menu comes up instantly but sometimes it brings up the wait icon for anywhere between 30 seconds to a few minutes before displaying the menu. I ran speedtest.net and the results were: 3.08 Down/0.13 Up (Mbps) 0.13Mbps = 16kbps upload. So I am not experiencing miracles with opening files. A 120kb file can take anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds. Sometimes transfering/opening files happens as expected other times its slow but the real issue is with the right click as mentioned. Anyone have any ideas? Using PPTP Clients are all windows 7 pro

  I am using the p tag to align text left and right on the same line using: .left { float: left; text-indent: 5px; margin-top: 0px; } .right { float: right; text-indent: 5px; margin-top: 0px; } <div id="content"> <p class="left">Left Text </p> <p class="right">Right Text </p> </div> The left text will indent by 5 pixels, the right text will not. • Windows: How to add batch-script action to Right Click menu

  I have a few programs that creates temp files or backup files or similar files that are not important. For example, GVim for Windows by default creates a backup file in filename.txt~. I sometimes need to clean up a dir and remove all these files. I have made a simple .bat file for this. However, it is cumbersome to have to start up cmd, navigate to the folder, run the script. Especially since this is a script that I would like to run often on various folders. And I do not want to copy the script to multiple folders, as this would be a maintenance nightmare. So, I was thinking, that the best solution would be to add a Right Click menu item that allows me to run the script. So that I can right click on a folder in Explorer and click Cleanup and then have my script run on this folder. So my question is: How do I add a right click menu action that runs a custom batch script?

• Custom command in right-click menu not working

  I have added, via the registry, a right click menu option for all filetypes which is supposed to get the MD5 checksum for a file. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*\shell\Checksum - Default: Get Checksum and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*\shell\Checksum\command - Default: checksum.cmd "%1" checksum.cmd simply clears the screen, calls fciv.exe using %1 and then pauses. Unfortunately, whilst the option "Get Checksum" appears correctly in the right click menu, it doesn't perform the right action when clicked. When I click it an "Open With" dialog opens, which is of course not what I want. Both checksum.cmd and fciv.exe are in the PATH. checksum.cmd: @echo off cls fciv.exe %1 pause Anybody know what's going on?

  I want to know if it is even possible to jump my cursor from left/right of every typed word using Vimperator, a Firefox addon that behaves like Vim, including its shortcut keys. So a good example would be: I took a marvelous dump right before bed and I so happen to sleep better.- Now if my cursor is at the end of that sentence (hence the dash) how can I jump my cursor right before the word better by just using a shortcut key? by default Ctrl+A & Ctrl+E are shortcut keys that brings your cursor to beginning/end of the current line your on.

• jquery - sliding image group left and right (hiding the ones that are past a certain point)

  So I'm not really sure how to go about doing this at all. I've got an anchor on the left with id="left" and one on the right with id="right". On the hover event, the image thumbnails should start sliding left or right. If there's not enough thumbnails, there should be no sliding. It can only fit 4 images in between the left and right anchors. How can I hide all anchors that are not in between the left and right anchors? I want the images to actually slowly move left or right, not just be sudden. Any ideas? I know how to bind the events and such just fine. I just don't really now how to get started with the image placement.

• What is the right approach to checksumming UDP packets

  I'm building UDP server application in C#. I've come across a packet checksum problem. As you probably know, each packet should carry some simple way of telling receiver if packet data is intact. Now, UDP already has 2-byte checksum as part of header, which is optional, at least in IPv4 world. Alternative method is to have custom checksum as part of data section in each packet, and to verify it on receiver. My question boils down to: is it better to rely on (optional) checksum in UDP packet header, or to make a custom checksum implementation as part of packet data section? Perhaps the right answer depends on circumstances (as usual), so one circumstance here is that, even though code is written and developed in .NET on Windows, it might have to run under platform-independent Mono.NET, so eventual solution should be compatible with other platforms. I believe that custom checksum algorithm would be easily portable, but I'm not so sure about the first one. Any thoughts? Also, shouts about packet checksumming in general are welcome.

  Windows 7 has a neat feature where the Windows Key in conjunction with the arrow keys tiles the active window. Windows key + left arrow moves it to the left half, windows key + right arrow moves your window to the right half of your monitor. Is there an equivalent to this functionality in OS X? Can anyone suggest some alternative metaphors by which to manage my windows? I find that OSX windows tend to be a bit more scatterbrained than their windows counterparts.

This doesn't seem to work properly using iTerm, I am using zsh, I tried adding; bindkey -e bindkey '^[[1;9C' forward-word bindkey '^[[1;9D' backward-word It does work, but inside zsh only, then I commented those lines and added in iTerm a keyboard shortcut; It does work, but only for the ALTleft How can I make it work for the right arrow too?

• CSS for toolbar with UI Slider centered between left and right buttons

  I'm attempting to create a 100% width toolbar. This toolbar needs to have a variable number of buttons aligned to the left side, as well as a variable number of buttons aligned to the right. That's the easy part. But now I want to put a jQuery UI slider in the center that takes up the full remaining space between the buttons on the left and the buttons on the right. I'm having troubles figuring out a pure-CSS way of doing this. I've tried something like below, but I really don't want to have fixed percentage widths. If there is only one button on the left and one on the right, then I want the centered slider to take the full space between them, not just 33% of the full width. .toolbar {width: 100%;} .toolbar .toolbar-left {float: left;width: 33%;} .toolbar .toolbar-right {float: right;width: 33%;} .toolbar .toolbar-center {margin: 0 auto;width: 33%;} I'm using UI Buttons for my buttons and styling -- see an example.   Hello, I seem to be having difficulties using jQuery .animate() to animate an absolutely positioned div from right to left on a button click, and left to right on another button click. • Right Hand Column Does Not Align Properly in IE6/7/8

If you take a look at the site in IE the right column seems to drop down and is not aligned with the right and centre column. • NSButton Aligned to the Right

  Hi, I want to have a check box, like the standard one (first the check box and on the right its title) but I want it to be aligned from the right. If I change the alignment to the right then only the text will move to the right but the button itself will still be at the left.. How would I achieve this without knowing the bounds of the NSButton? • Sometimes, Synaptics Touchpad Tends Cursor to Top-Right Corner

  This has been a reoccurring issue for me, pretty much since I've owned this laptop (an ASUS G60JX.) Sometimes, the cursor will stop working properly and instead tend toward the top right of the screen. Basically, sometime into my usage (maybe after a couple hours) the touchpad will inevitably begin to malfunction, where it has confusing patterns of pushing the mouse cursor toward the top right of the screen. In addition, certain features (like momentum) seem to quit working entirely. It makes using the cursor extremely difficult. I've been having this issue across very many drivers. Pretty much as soon as multitouch came into the mix, although I don't believe multitouch has anything to do with it. It appears that, in the state of malfunction, it doesn't matter how you touch the touchpad, but where you touch it. Certain regions do not seem to trigger the cursor to move to the top right corner. In fact, no specific region seems to, but some areas do so more often than others. The issue can be resolved temporarily by putting the computer into sleep mode and awakening it. I have found no way to recreate this success without sleeping the computer or rebooting. Disabling and re-enabling the touchpad device does not do anything to resolve the problem. This issue does not affect my WACOM tablet nor any USB mice, and can be resolved (not to my satisfactory) by uninstalling the touchpad drivers. I'm looking for a solution, or at least a workaround that doesn't require sleep mode.

• ActionScript MovieClip moves to the left, but not the right

  I have a stage with a movie clip with the instance name of "mc". Currently I have a code that is suppose to move the player left and right, and when the left or right key is released, the "mc" slides a little bit. The problem I'm having is that making the "mc" move to the left works, but the exact some code used for the right doesn't. Is there any way to force the browser to overflow before the padding-right, which means my div will show with the padding right?   Ive been working over a sidescroller shooter game. Ive got my sidescroller shooter character to look around with these : chest.LookAt(mousepos,Vector3.right); & chest.LookAt(mousepos,Vector3.left); (Left when the character is turned to the left and right when the character is turned to the right) so it wont aim in to any other axis... But when the mouse gets to cross the middle of the character and not around it it gets the rotation to make a small transportation between frames and it wont get all the way to there.. It'll just teleport to its correct rotation like lookat should. Well the question is, how do I get any quaternion slerp which works with a Time.deltTime to work as same as LookAt(,Vector3.right)? I must have the Vector3.right and left so it'll move trough 1 axis. Many thanks to anyone who helps me out. :)

• Big square ads appear in lower right corner of both IE and Chrome

  In both IE and Chrome, large ads appear in the lower right corner of the browser window. Sometime they look reputable like for Microsoft, but sometimes they are big flashing boxes that say "You have won". Right now I am looking at "Need to lose 30 lbs?" I ran Microsofot Security Essentials and it didn't find anything. I then ran Windows Defender Offline (boot from CD). WDO found five things lincluding browser hijack that caused the wrong page to appear after clicking a link. It reported that it cleaned successfully, after which I ran a quick scan to confirm. After rebooting I still see the ads. Do I still have an infection? Any other tools to try? What about ComboFix? Thanks Update: Here's a screenshot - on superuser

• Fn + Right Arrow on MacBook Pro does not work as END Key for SuperUser web site

  Hello everyone, I am using a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.5. I am new to this development environment, and previously worked on Windows. I have tried that Fn + Right arrow on Mac works as "END" key on Windows -- which makes cursor move to the end of line, for most application like Word for Mac -- I have tried it works. But I tried Fn + Right Arrow does not work for current question input box of SuperUser. I am wondering how to solve this issue and why? Does anyone have the same issue for me? thanks in advance, George

• Adding entries to the context menu and organising them in Windows 7

  So I've got the hang of adding keys to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\Shell, and I know I can add a string entitled 'Position' and change its value to position the entry I've made, but I can't figure out how to do three things (nor can I find anything guiding me in doing them): 1) How to put a bar on either side of an entry to separate it from other entries 2) How to position them in an exact place in the context menu (eg. above or below a certain other entry) 3) How to make an entry that brings up another list of entries (like the 'View' and 'Sort by' entries that are already there when you right-click in Windows Explorer I wasn't sure whether this goes in StackOverflow or SuperUser, but I thought maybe it goes here since I'm using Regedit rather than coding it (though I am aware you can right a .reg file and then execute it to install these sorts of things). • don't have "sufficient right" to my own TFS 2010

  after I removed an active directory domain service, I lost all my accounts...then not only the SQL server and the TFS stopped working, the TFs administration console also says that I don't have sufficient right to add members... Now I manage to get the SQL server kind of running, and I can see my project in team explorer, but the TFS still says SQL access denied, SQL server says I don't have permission to add new logins or add my admin account to sysadmin, the TFS still give me the TF246017 tfs could not connect to the database and I don't have sufficient right to add member to any of the project groups... Anybody knows how can I get all these permissions back....?

• OSX Finder - Creating New Folder with Right-Click in List View

  I am aware that when using finder in List view, I can create a new folder by right-clicking on an empty row, and pressing 'New Folder'. However, when I happen to be browsing a folder with quite a lot of files (or just enough to invoke a scrollbar), there are no blank rows, and hence nowhere that I can right-click to create a new folder. This is not a big problem, I am just a whinger who likes consistency and find this frustrating. Yes, I am aware that I can press 'Shift + Cmd + N', or can simply change the Finder view. BUT, is there a way to do this within list view? Am I missing something obvious?
