How to make Resig's micro-templates XHTML compliant?

Hello, I have been experimenting with John Resig's micro-template, which works great. However, the mark-up will not pass the XHTML 1.0 Transitional validation test. (Among other things, id attributes yield errors.) Replacing tags identifiers <, with [[,]], passes validation. Thus, I created a js script which at load time (jQuery document ready) converts the square brackets back to regular markers. This works fine in FF, but not in IE, Chrome, etc. Scripts embedded within CDATA tags validate as well. Question: Is there a way to insert micro-template in a script and still pass XHTML validation? My idea was to remove the CDATA tags once the page has been loaded. But there are probably smarter ways. (Note: I'd prefer not to inject HTML via js since the mark-up will be difficult to maintain.) PS: I looked at other js templates, but they are either not XHTML compliant or too bulky. TIA for any hints.

I'm having a bit of trouble with John Resig's Micro templating. Can anyone help me with why it isn't working? rake test not copying development postgres db with sequences

I am trying to develop a rails application on postgresql using a sequence to increment a field instead of a default ruby approach based on validates_uniqueness_of. This has proved challenging for a number of reasons: 1. This is a migration of an existing table, not a new table or column 2. Using parameter :default = "nextval('seq')" didn't work because it tries to set it in parenthesis 3. Optimization of a c++ matrix/bitmap class

I am searching a 2D matrix (or bitmap) class which is flexible but also fast element access. The first solution does not do this. However this is not very flexible anymore, as you can't change the size anymore at runtime. So my question is: Is there a possibility to tell the compiler to generate faster code (like when using the template solution), when the size in the code is fixed and generate flexible code when its runtime dependend? I tried to achieve this by writing "const" where ever possible. I tried it with gcc and VS2005, but no success. This kind of optimization would be useful for many other similar cases.

My -tpl file won't update!

Hi, I am running the site at www.euroworker.no, it's a linux server and the site has a backend editor. It's a smarty/php site, and when I try to update a few of the .tpl's (two or three) they don't update. I have tried uploading through FTP and that doesn't work either. I have no knowledge of how servers work or anything, please help? It runs on the livecart system. Thanks!

Outlook, Word, and normal.dot (2003 Edition)

I have one user that for some reason has been having macro issues with her normal.dot file. At first the fix was just remove the file because she isn't actually needing to save anything. This was really a temp fix. We found out that for some reason every time she opened up word it was trying to modify normal.dot but not asking. I set it up to ask so at least we could control the changes going on to normal.dot. There was one file disabled in Word that we enabled because it was a document she never used anymore, making us think that maybe that was the issue. We have automatic antivirus updates and scans so there is little chance of a virus. The issue has stopped as far as just using Word itself. She can open, close, edit, save, etc and never get the dialog. In Outlook however if she clicks reply or forward to an e-mail but decides not to send it, and just close it. She gets the pop up to save changes to normal.dot. This leads me to believe something in outlook about how she is setup to use Word as an e-mail editor is causing the problem. Am I even on the right track here? Short form: Word works fine with normal.dot, as an Outlook mail editor wants to change normal.dot. No idea what to do.

Can someone explain the difference between apache mod_wsgi in daemon mode and django fastcgi in threaded mode. They both use threads for concurrency I think. Supposing that I'm using nginx as front end to apache mod_wsgi. UPDATE: I'm comparing django built in fastcgi(./manage.py method=threaded maxchildren=15) and mod_wsgi in 'daemon' mode(WSGIDaemonProcess example threads=15). They both use threads and acquire GIL, am I right?

reorder XML elements or set an explicit template with XSLT

I tried the solution in my previous question (flattening XML to load via SSIS package), however this isn't working. I now know what I need to do, however I need some guidance on how to do it. If I am to load this into a SSIS package, as an XML source, what I will essentially get is a table created for each element, as opposed to get a structured table output such as person table (name, surname, age) somethingelse table (id) comment table (comment_id, comment_text) What I end up getting is: person table (person_Id <-- internal SSIS id) name table surname table age table person_name table person_surname table person_comment_comment_id table etc... What I found was that if each element and all inner elements are not in the same format and consistency, i will get the above anomaly which makes it rather complex especially if I am dealing with 80 - 100+ columns. Unfortunately I have no way of modifying the system (Lotus Notes) that produces these reports, so I was wondering whether I may be able to explicitly have an XSLT template that will be able to align each person sub elements (and the sub collection elements such as comments ? Unless there is a quicker way to realign all inner elements. Seems that SSIS XML source requires a very consistent XML file in the sense of: if the name element is in position 1, then all subsequent name elements within person parent have to be in position 1. SSIS seems to pickup the inconsistencies if there are certain elements missing from one parent to another, however, if their ordering is not right (A, B, C)(A, B, C)(A,C,B), it will chuck a massive fuss! Default tablespace for indexes in postgres

Just wondering if its possible to set a default tablespace in postgres to keep indexes. Would like the databases to live on the default tablespace for postgres, however, would like to get the indexes on a different set of disks just to keep the i/o traffic separated. It does not appear to me that it can be done without going in and doing an ALTER index TABLESPACE command, and then the index is moved and will stay there, but the databases and indexes are part of a django app, so non-django intervention can cause some problems.

Render custom form / alter existing rendering template at runtime.

How do I create reusable custom new item form + preferrably, i don't want to tie this form to content type? I want to force render one hidden field (it could be render on the page, but make invisible or render on the page and display) and set field value programmatically (that's why it has to be rendered - to set it's value). Google has tons of information on how to create custom list form with sharepoint designer, but in my case, i don't want sharepoint designer for the advantages you see below. What i'm trying to achieve I want to be able to have a custom newform to create item (i don't want it to be as default). To open this newForm i would use CustomAction in item's ECB menu. In this form, i want to force render one hidden field and set it's value programmatically. Idea #2 Could it be that i modify existing RenderingTemplate at runtime? I would take "new forms" template (Named, for example, ListForm or it could be other than default ListForm) with SPControlTemplateManager.GetTemplateByName("ListForm") Find ListIterator control and add property TemplateName="ListItemFormFieldsWithRelatedItems" Render this template and return it? In short, i would like to create RenderingTemplate programmatically, on-the-fly and then use this template to render list's new form. Advantages I get the advantage of Idea 1 + This way i would get a bonus even if Template changes (from ListForm to CompanyCustomListForm) and my custom form won't loose my implemented functionality if i choose to change content type's rendering template later on (i can create other features not trying to rembeer to reimplement this particular stuff or other 3rd party features won't override my functionality if they use custom forms - loose coupling is it?). Now, is this (Idea #2) possible...?

JQuery Pure Template

I cant figure out whats wrong. Its working when i tried to refresh only topics but it doesnt works when tried to refresh topics and page-links. ie. topics table's refreshing, and 'pagelinks' disappearing, i thought pure cannot reach - read second template node. By the way, i tested their code, first message box show up all of nodes - includes 'pagelinks' node, but second one - in function only show up topic rows. Its look like a bug. Anyone knows how can i solve this? ps. I'm using latest version of pure. Thanks. Ruby erb template- try to change layout- get error

Hi there! I'm working my way through adapting a template I have been given that is basically a list of products for sale. I want to change it from a top-down list into a table layout.
