Can anybody explain to me how this program works and flows? Given this pseudocode that searches for a value in a linked list and a list that is in an ascending order, what would this program return? a. The largest value in the list that is smaller than target b. The largest value in the list that is smaller than or same as target c. The smallest value in the list that is larger than or same as target d. Target e. The smallest value in the list that is larger than target And say that List is [1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 20, 20, 24, 44, 69, 70, 71, 74, 77, 92] and target 15, how many comparisons are occurred? (here, comparison means comparing the value of target)

Wish there was a collectWithIndex ... Any suggestions?

  • Dynamically generate Triangle Lists for a Complex 3D Mesh

    In my application, I have the shape and dimensions of a complex 3D solid (say a Cylinder Block) taken from user input. I need to construct vertex and index buffers for it. Since the dimensions are taken from user input, I cannot user Blender or 3D Max to manually create my model. What is the textbook method to dynamically generate such a mesh? Edit: I am looking for something that will generate the triangles given the vertices, edges and holes. Something like TetGen. As for TetGen itself, I have no way of excluding the triangles which fall on the interior of the solid/mesh.

  • Understanding prolog [lists]

    I am to write a program that does this: ?- pLeap(2,5,X,Y). X = 2, Y = 3 ; X = 3, Y = 4 ; X = 4, Y = 5 ; X = 5, Y = 5 ; false. (gives all pairs X,X+1 between 2 and 5, plus the special case at the end). This is supposedly the solution. I don't really understand how it works, could anyone guide me through it? pLeap(X,X,X,X). pLeap(L,H,X,Y) :- L<H, X is L, Y is X+1. pLeap(L,H,X,Y) :- L=<H, L1 is L+1, pLeap(L1,H,X,Y). I'd do it simply like this: pLeap(L,H,X,Y) :- X >= L, X =< H, Y is X+1. Why doesn't it work (ignoring the special case at the end)?

    Hi!! I'm facing an issue here. A customer asked me to copy an exact site, and even though I'm trying to convince him of going for a new design he does not accept it. He loves this design so much (on a side note it's horrible and outdated, but I wouldn't say that to him!) It's been a couple of weeks since we are discussing this and I don't know what to do. Do you have similar experiences? I don't want to lose the customer, he pays well and his jobs are really easy. At the same time, I don't want to put my signature on someone else's work. For example, when i write some source code here in stack overflow, system auto-detect the sintax and write "correct" source code in html. I've noticed that exists the HTML <"code" tag, but it simply write source code in "courier" font. So i'm asking you if exists some "external" component that, given a text, parse it out correctly in a HTML page. Thank you!

  • Copying Tables from a Website

    I have difficulty making an Excel-readable file from a table on a Website. The problems very specific to my question are: I have to use IE 7 to access the site. Excel is installed in another computer. The site does not let me view the HTML of the table. Normally, I would simply select the table I want and drag and drop it to Excel. Or, I would view the page source and copy the HTML data. Both do not work in this case. Is there any handy tool out there?

    Is there a generally-accepted way to return a large list of objects using Java EE? For example, if you had a database ResultSet that had millions of objects how would you return those objects to a (remote) client application? Another example -- that is closer to what I'm actually doing -- would be to aggregate data from hundreds of sources, normalize it, and incrementally transfer it to a client system as a single "list". Since all the data cannot fit in memory, I was thinking that a combination of a stateful SessionBean and some sort of custom Iterator that called back to the server would do the trick. How have you successfully solved this problem in the past?

Now i want to create a list with all the neighbors of the neighbors. I do that like this: listOfNeighborsNeighbors = [] for neighborVertex in getNeighbors(vertex): listOfNeighborsNeighbors.append(getNeighbors(neighborsVertex)) Is there a more pythonic way to do that?

    Direct question - How would I place certain objects or small text within a certain area. For example, how would I replace the following image with html/javascript. --- I don't have enough reps to post an image :/ but try this URL - http://i.imgur.com/a3eWL.jpg Big picture - I am trying to create a kml file for Google Earth that when the point is clicked, the balloon description window pops up and I can display my html formatted diagram showing where the satellites are at that instant. Google Earth and KML docs allow for pretty much any html formatting within it, so currently looking for a good way to do this.     Before you say "oh no, not again" here I'm stating my case. I'm parsing part of HTML output and the only thing I'm interested in is name and value attributes of each <input/ tag. HTML is actually HTML fragment, may not be well-formed. I don't have DOM or HTML parser and I don't try to parse nested elements anyway. The problem is that I don't know the order or number of attributes so it could be <input name="foo" value="boo"/> or <input type="hidden" name=foo> or <input id=blah value='boo' src="image.png" name="foo" type="img"/>. Is there a single regular expression that would get me values of name and value attribute in predictable order? I wouldn't have asked the question if I could assume that name attribute always precedes value but unfortunately this is not the case

  • Is it possible to set two encodings for one hml?

    Is there a way to specify certain part of a html file as another encoding? The default encoding for the (generated) html is utf-8. However, some of the included data to be inserted in the html is in another encoding. It's something like: <div> the normal html in utf-8 </div> <div> <%= raw_data_in_another_encoding %> </div> Is there a way to hint a browser to render the 2nd <div> in another encoding? thanks

If I have these 3 classes: class Student { int id; string name } class Course { int id, string name } class Enrolment { int studentId; int courseId; } How would I use LINQ to get a list of courses a student is enrolled on? (assume I have an IList of all three classes)

  • SVG 100% document height don't work

    I'm trying to fill a document with a SVG image using the width="100%" and height="100%" properties, I have height="100%" in html and body tags too, and different colours for body(red) and svg(blue). Result is a full height svg but with a scrollbar in the right, and a thin line of red(body) at the bottom. ¿How can I fill the document with the svg without the scrollbar? Thanks.     Hi, Quick, hopefully easy question. Google is failing me. I don't want my text exactly centered. I want it maybe 7 characters (blank spaces) over. What do I add to this to do that? <.centerThis is centered<./center Adding blanks in front of the "T" does nothing. (I added the dots in the code above because I can't get <.code blocks/spans to let me put the html code here.) (Nothing fancy - no CSS, DHTML, XHTML - just plain old HTML.) Thanks.
