• Tracking a goal through a virtual pageview is not registering

  I am trying to track a goal in Google Analytics through a virtual pageview. As you can see in the code example, it is linking out from a picture instead of text with a link. I triple-checked to see if I had my Goals set up properly in the Admin panel, where the goal URL is set to "/click2", the goal type is URL destination and the match type is Head Match. I am unsure if the problem lies in the fact that it's linking out to an "https" link or if the link is attached to a picture that serves as a Call To Action. I would appreciate if any of you can help shed some light on this problem I'm having.

• Does a lead-to screen with AdSense ad conform to Google's rules?

  Re: Google's ad placement policy I have noticed that when clicking on some Forbes links, I am taken to a screen with an ad in the middle - at the top there is a link to skip the ad. Upon clicking on the skip link I am taken to the article I want to view. I want to implement something similar on my sites, where, when clicking on a search result, a the results window first displays one AdSense add on the screen with a similar UI as what I saw on Forbes. Currently, when a user clicks on a result, a new tab/window opens with the result. What I am proposing is that before the result appears, the screen displays a "Continue to result" link at the top in large letters, and in the center of the page, "Advertisement" with the ad below. This is the only popup that is user initiated and there are no other popups on the site. Navigation elements are not modified in any way. Will I get penalized by Google for implementing this?

  I have Pentium 4 system 3 GHz, 1 GB RAM ..... (no built-in WiFi) I installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my PC, works fine. It picked all the drivers for audio, video itself. I plugged TP-Link 54Mbps High Gain Wireless USB Adapter (TL-WN422G) ..... (link for the device: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-WN422G) Now what happens is that the WiFi network is detected and shown in the "Network Connections", and it is also connected to it but when I open Firefox it is as if there no internet connection at all.

  With backlinkwatch.com I can get a list of pages that link to a particular website. Unfortunately, it lists tons of obscure blogs and small forums, it has hard to find what link is really important. Is there a similar service, where links would be displayed sorted by "importance"? For instance, a link New York Times would be shown at the top of the list, while links in small blogs would not appear before a few pages. "Importance" can be subjective, so I suggest using the PageRank, but other metrics could be fine too.

• Drop in rankings after removing sitewide backlinks

  Here's the scenario: I have a small web design business and was using a branded backlink on the bottom of all client sites. Recently this has become a bit taboo with the Google updates so I went back to a few of my sites and made it so there's only a homepage backlink. After doing this, I've had a drop in rankings, despite this apparently being a best practice. Is this likely a temporary drop that will pick back up? For any new sites, I still want to have a link on all pages of client sites as it's good advertising. I plan to have a do-follow homepage link and then no-follow every other link - is this a good idea?

  Possible Duplicate: The SEO Benefit of Breaking Up Content Onto Different Websites I was wondering if (assuming all your content is related) it would be better to put all your content under a single domain or multiple domains that link to each other. Lets say I have Site A which doesn't have a good search ranking. If I have a new product that I'm sure could get a good ranking on its own would I get a better search ranking for Site A if I - Add the new product as a new section to Site A. Or put the product on new Site B and link back to Site A. To give you an example if you were developing a few browser plugins would it be better (in terms of ranking) to showcase them all in the same site, or would you give them each their own domain's that link to each other? • Windows XP update not working

  I have a problem with XP updating. It hangs when I try to search for updates on the website. But the automatic updates still work. And it's running IE6, so I'm trying to update to IE8, hoping that will fix the problems with the website. But when installing IE8 it just hangs at Installing Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP And if I try to install it manually, it hangs when installing the updates for IE8. • OpenSwan IPsec connection drops after 30 seconds

  I'm trying to connection from my Linux Mint 16 box to a CloudStack server. Building up the connection works (pings work across the tunnel). However 30 seconds later the IPsec tunnel gets terminated out of the blue. What could cause this consistent behaviour and how to fix it? The tunnel is setup using OpenSwan (U2.6.38/K(no kernel code presently loaded)) with the L2TP IPsec VPN manager from Werner Jaeger 1.0.9. The client is behind a NAT'ed router and the server is on public IP (CloudStack 4.2) Running ipsec verify complains about IPsec support in kernel.   Google Chrome has a feature to change between Google accounts which allows several users to have their customized extensions, history and whatnot retrieved instantly. It doesn't, however, protect someone else from checking anything google related. That means anyone with access to your computer can check every google account that was setup as user in Chrome. How can I prevent that? I first thought of checking a box with the option to have Chrome request for password upon user change but that doesn't seem to exist.

• Why isn't passwordless ssh working?

  I have two Ubuntu Server machines sitting at home. One is 192.168.1.15 (we'll call this 15), and the other is 192.168.1.25 (we'll call this 25). For some reason, when I want to setup passwordless login from 15 to 25, it works like a champ. When I repeat the steps on 25, so that 25 can login without a password on 15, no dice. I have checked both sshd_config files. • Having problems building Cairo on x64 CentOS

  I've done this many times on 32 bit CentOS and everything went ok without a hitch. But now, on x64 CentOS, I can't get cairo to find pixman. Pixman 0.18.0 is installed in /usr/local/lib (which I believe is the usual location). Configure for Cairo 1.8.10 can't find it: checking for cairo's image surface backend feature... checking for pixman... no no checking whether cairo's image surface backend feature could be enabled... no (requires pixman-1 >= 0.12.0 http://cairographics.org/releases/) configure: error: mandatory image surface backend feature could not be enabled I've tried setting environment variable pixman_LIBS=/usr/local/lib but wihtout any luck. Any idea what is going wrong? Is it possible for me to see where is cairo's configure looking for pixman? Search paths or something like that?
