I have some text files previously formatted in vim using "gggqG". Now I need to convert them to one line per paragraph format. I saw a way(using :g command) to do that before, but I have forgot it. Anyone knows?

I would like to extract some text between two points in a string, in Javascript
Say the string is
"start-extractThis-234"
The numbers at the end can be any number, but the hyphens are always present.
Ideally I think capturing between the two hypens should be ok.
I would like the result of the regex to be
extractThis
I've seen questions to prefix zeros here in SO. But not the other way !!
Can you guys suggest me how to remove the leading zeros in alphanumeric text. Are there any built-in APIs or do I need to write a method to trim the leading zero's?
Example:
01234 converts to 1234
0001234a converts to 1234a
001234-a converts to 1234-a
101234 remains as 101234
2509398 remains as 2509398
123z remains as 123z
000002829839 converts to 2829839
Hi there,
I have a piece of text that gets handed to me like:
here is line one\n\nhere is line two\n\nhere is line three
What I would like to do is break this string up into three separate variables.
I'm not quite sure how one would go about accomplishing this in python.
Thanks for any help,

I was wondering if there was a way to extract all the values of a column, and then save each value into separate text files (labeled ANYTHING, 1-100 works fine).
I know how to do this through another language, but I'm using SQL Server 2008 with Microsoft SQL Server Manager and it would save me some time from figuring out how to do it through C#.
How can I parse text and find all instances of hyperlinks with a string? The hyperlink will not be in the html format of <a href="http://test.com">test</a> but just http://test.com
Secondly, I would like to then convert the original string and replace all instances of hyperlinks into clickable html hyperlinks.
I found an example in this thread:
Easiest way to convert a URL to a hyperlink in a C# string?
but was unable to reproduce it in python :(
I want to change the text of the top address bar without reloading, I know the methods window.location.href and window.location.hash, but I want to do it without appending a "#" to the URL.
Is it possible?
Thanks.
I would like to include a rich text editor in a pygtk drawing area for an application i am developing. The editor ( a small resizable widget ) should be able to move around the drawing area like a rectangle. I am not sure how to start as I am pretty new to PyGTK. thank you !
This might have been asked in another way. I am not doing it on the fly however. Once in a while we get pieces of content in word files that have em dashes, bold, italic text and block quotes. Is there a good tool to convert this into a clean html code.
Otherwise what other approaches people take.
Whenever I add a layer for Core Animation either from the nib or programatically, the NSTextFields (labels) in my interface get messed up. Here's a screenshot from Apple's BasicCocoaAnimations example. (Look at the text fields on the left, somehow they're drawn sharper than normal)
Note that if I add a layer in IB then it also gets messed up in IB itself before I even run my app.
By highlight I mean the thing you do to text when you drag your mouse over it. If you use imgur.com then you know what I want. I can't find anything about this anywhere, it's frustrating. help?

Hello,
i'm using mootools.js, i have this code:
this.html.chat_title = new Element('span', {'id' : 'chat_title', html : 'this is the title'}).inject(this.html.container);
The problem is:
span id="chat_title" html="this is the title"
as you see it doesn't put the text inside the HTML of the tag but as an attribute.
What is wrong?
Thank you so much!
