    Good advice from CommonWare and Steve H but it's not as easy to me as I first thought. Based on their advice I'm trying to copy android.R.layout to my project to ensure consistency. How do you do this? I looked in Eclipse's Package Explorer and under Android 1.5android.jarandroidR.classRlayout and find R$layout.class. Do I copy the code out of there into my own class?     Hi! I have read a lot about the new policy-policy of flash player and also know the master policy file. Now image the following situation: There are two servers with services (http) running at custom ports servera.com:2222/websiteA serverb.com:3333/websiteB Now I open a swf from server a (eg. servera.com:2222/websiteA/A.swf) that wants to access the service of serverb. Of course I need a crossdomain.xml at the right place and there are multiple variations possible. I dont want to use a master policy file, as I might not have control over the root of both servers. One solution I found works with the following crossdomain: <?xml version="1.0"?> <cross-domain-policy> <allow-access-from domain="*"/> </cross-domain-policy> served at serverb.com:3333/websiteB/crossdomain.xml So now for my question: Is it possible to get rid of the "*" and use a proper (not as general as *) domainname in the allow-access-from rule? All my attempts failed, and from what I understand it should be possible.

    Starting a new project and was planning on storing all of my web content in XML. I do not have access to a database so this seemed like the next best thing. One thing I'm struggling with is how to structure the XML for links (which will later be transformed using XSLT). It needs to be fairly flexible as well. Below is what I started with, but I'm starting to question it. <links> <link> <url>http://google.com</url> <description>Google</description> <link> <link> <url>http://yahoo.com</url> <description>Yahoo</description> <links> <url>http://yahoo.com/search</url> <description>Search</description> </link> <link> </links> That should get transformed into Google Yahoo Search Perhaps something like this might work better. <links> <link href="http://google.com">Google</link> <link href="http://yahoo.com">Yahoo <link href="http://yahoo.com/search">Search</link> </link> </links> Does anyone perhaps have a link that talks about structuring web content properly in XML?     Hi, I have problem in declaring the intents on my app. I have a form with text fields and spinner. I have added a button which onClick must display Datepicker. I have declared the DatePicker as a new class and added to intent onCLick. date.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { Intent i=new Intent(SendMail.this,DatePicker.class); startActivity(i); } }); In manifest i have declared <activity android:name=".DatePicker"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> Now the problem is when i click the button the whole form is getting reset and all the spinner values are getting vanished. This must be because of declaring the intent wrongly. So, can anyone specify how to declare my intent so that the DatePicker will be called on the main form iteself

    I want to serialize a class to xml and store that in a field in a database. I can serialize with this: StringWriter sw = new StringWriter(); XmlSerializer xmlser = new XmlSerializer(typeof(MyClass)); xmlser.Serialize(sw, myClassVariable); string s = sw.ToString(); sw.Close(); Thats works, but it has the namesapces in it. xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" Will these slow down the deserialization because it will go out to those and verify the XML? I got rid of the namespaces by creating a blank XmlSerializerNamespaces and using that to serialize, but then the xml still had namespaces around integer variables: <anyType xmlns:q1="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" d3p1:type="q1:int" xmlns:d3p1="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> 3 </anyType> My question is: Is it necessary to have the namesapces for deserialization and if not, how to get rid of them? How do I tell it fields are ints so it doesnt put in "anytype" Thanks, Brian

This is what my XML looks like: Song Title Lyrics <song> <title>Song Title</title> <lyric>Lyrics</lyric> <song> <title>Song Title</title> <lyric>Lyrics</lyric> <song> <title>Song Title</title> <lyric>Lyrics</lyric> I want to have line breaks in between the sentences for the lyrics. I tried everything from /n, and other codes similar to it, PHP parsing, etc., and nothing works! Have been googling online for hours and can't seem to find the answer. I'm using the XML to insert data to an HTML page using Javascript. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks before :)

  • Lua on Android: Comment character

    I have a tiny LUA script which is supposed to disable call forwarding: require 'android' android.dialNumber('*21#') The problem is that the script only dials '*21' and omits the '#' character. Playing around It looks to me like the # character is treated as comment character as everything after it is ignored. I've tried singel and double quotes, escaping, \023, but nothing works. How can I dial '*21#' on android with LUA ?

The strange thing is I wasn't receiving this error before yesterday and I didn't make any security related change. On the other hand, my own keystore using for releases is still working good.
