• Spring @Autowired messageSource working in Controller but not in other classes?

  New updates: As I could not succeed in configuring messageSource through annotations, I attempted to configure messageSource injection through servlet-context.xml. I still have messageSource as null. Please let me know if you need any more specific info, and I will provide. In debug mode, I can see that in class xxxController, messageSource is initialized to org.springframework.context.support.ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource. I have annotated Message class with @Component and xxxHibernateDaoImpl with @Repository. I also included context namespace definition in servlet-context.xml. But in Message class and xxxHibernateDaoImpl class, the messageSource is still null.   On my win7 machine when I watch a movie in XBMC, once per hour the desktop regains the focus. The movie keeps playing, but in the background now, so I can only hear it. It is quite irritating. I noticed, that the Windows Application log always contains two entres for this time: "The description for Event ID 0 from source Self-service Plug-in cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer." One entry is for starting, and one for stopping 60 seconds later. This keeps repeating, every two starts 3600 seconds apart. How can I repair it? How can I find out which service it is?

• MSDTC Port 135 open bi-directionally

  I have two servers, a web application server and an SQL Server database running on its own server. I have a firewall between these two servers. Do I have to open port 135 on both the SQL Server and the Web Application Server. Does the SQL Server open its own connection to the Web Application Server on port 135 or any other port? Do I have to in component services point the Web Application Server MSDTC at the SQL Database Server? If the firewall is completely open, the settings in component services set to allow remote connections, remote administration etc is there any other settings that need to be changed in order to allow remote connections to the SQL Server MSDTC?

  I'm curious what the requirements are for Excel Calculation Services in Sharepoint 2010. I found an architecture document but it doesn't list out the specific requirements. (architecture I understand that you can install all the services on one server but it isn't recommended. It then talks about how you can scale up the application servers, and web front ends. What should the hardware look like for both the application server and web front ends? Do I need to setup a standalone box for each application server?

• Windows 7 and ocx installation

  I am having one application which runs on XP very well. What it does is it downloads some files from server and register one ocx object. In XP after installing I am able to see the entry in the RegEdit with name of that ocx component. But same thing I tried on the Windows 7 and its not registering that ocx component. I having same access rights as XP on windows 7. I am unable to find any entry in RegEdit. I tried installing it manually by Running Command Prompt As Administrator then it installs successfully.. How can I do it automaticallly as it works in XP? Thanks for the help.

The link below is a picture about my architecture. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BxSXbpgYIZVOR212RVk4ZDN1Sm8.      The pic above shows the architecture right now and it works correctly ! which means I could visit apache with url https//apchehost:8080, could not visit the web app with https served by weblogic but I could visit these app with https served by Apache(Apache is proxy server).      My question is why the Apache is configured with ssl but weblogic without ssl works ? I think weblogic should also configured with ssl . If this works , what about security level ? Is the ssl really works if only Apache configured with ssl but Weblogic without it ? Thanks . condition: Apache 2.2.17 with weblogic module mod_wl_22.so Weblogic: 10.3 OS: Windows server 2003

• How to identify who is using Hardware Reserved Memory in Windows 7

  I run Windows 7 x86 Home Premium. I have an installed physical memory of 4 GB, out of which, 2.96 GB is usable (My Computer Properties). I checked the memory usage using Resource Monitor and found 3036 MB / 4096 MB is available. I noticed that 1060 MB is unavailable since it is reserved by some "Hardware component(s)". I would like to know which hardware component is using this 1060 MB. Is there any way or tool to identify this? Note: I know that Windows 7 Home Premium x86 supports a maximum of 4GB RAM.

• Horrible time with WAMP, Joomla and Windows 7 (Permissions)

  I have WAMP and Joomla installed on Windows 7. I have made a virtual host outside of the www directory that houses a test joomla site. I have also made a joomla component that I want to install and test on this virtual host. I am having constant problems with permissions. I have given all users full access to the folder containing the files under the security Tab in Win7. It seems to me that when (Apache/PHP) creates a file it put restrictions on the permissions which does not allow it to delete or edit the file anymore so I have to manually go and delete the files when I want to uninstall my component. Also, I cannot install the .zip - instead I have to unzip manually to the tmp folder because when I upload the zip in the Joomla Installer I get the same permissions problems as above. How can I get rid of these issues once an for all?

• Unity - Mecanim & Rigidbody on Third Person Controller - Gravity bug?

  I'm working on a third person controller which uses physX to interact with the other objects (using the Rigidbody component) and Mecanim to animate the character. All the animations used are baked to Y, and the movement on this axis is controlled by the gravity applied by the rigidbody component. The configuration of the falling animation: And the character components configuration: Since the falling animation doesn't have root motion on XZ, I move the character on XZ by code. Like this: // On the Ground if (IsGrounded()) { GroundedMovementMgm(); // Stores the velocity velocityPreFalling = rigidbody.velocity; } // Mid-Air else { // Continue the pre falling velocity rigidbody.velocity = new Vector3(velocityPreFalling.x, rigidbody.velocity.y, velocityPreFalling.z); } The problem is that when the chracter starts falling and hit against a wall in mid air, it gets stuck to the wall. • AJAX Control Toolkit - Incompatibility with HTMLEditor and UpdatePanel

  Unfortunately HTMLEditor component of AJAX Control Toolkit is not compatible with the UpdatePanel. The problem is when we use accents with the Mozilla Firefox browser and HTMLEditor is inside an UpdatePanel. Letters that contain accents are left with an unknown character (so is stored in the database or even returned a PostBack). Can be tested using Mozilla Firefox on the site of the ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit.  Write a word with accents and go to "Submit Content": http://www.asp.net/AJAX/AjaxControlToolkit/Samples/HTMLEditor/HTMLEditor.aspx As an alternative to this problem there are multiple component Rich Text Editors, some using jQuery and others not. Queneeshas provided us a list of 10 components that can be viewed here: http://www.queness.com/post/212/10-jquery-and-non-jquery-javascript-rich-text-editors Hopefully next release of the AJAX Control Toolkit, this inconsistency and others (like the ModalPopup Extender that already referenced in my blog) are resolved once and for all. This is because there are more updated versions prior to that do not have these problems, and with the passing of time some parts were coming into conflict. • Work Item Visualizer for TFS 2010 - New Extension

  I released another new extension to the Visual Studio Gallery again today called Work Item Visualizer for TFS 2010. I've only heard positive things about it so far, hopefully it stays that way :) Basically, it creates a diagram of all work items linked to a work item ID which the user specifies in a search box. This extension was coded using DGML (the same graph rendering language used for the Visual Studio 2010 Architecture Tools). It was pretty cool getting a chance to create something using some of the newest technology out there. Well, I just wanted to throw a blog up to get the word out on it a little more. I use similar usecase as andre however we'll not be using Exception Handling property from taskflow, instead we use popup and invoke the same programmatically. This is a dynamic region example where user can select jobs or locations links to edit the records of corresponding tables being in the same page and click commit to save changes. To generate exception we deliberately change commit to CommitAction in commit action binding code created in the bean (same as andre) and catch the exception and add brief description of exception into #{pageFlowScope.message}. This course will systematically walk you through the myriad of personalization options, starting with simple examples and increasing in complexity from there. 6. E-Business Suite: BI Publisher 5.6.3 for Developers Starting with the basic concepts, architecture, and underlying standards of Oracle XML Publisher, this course will lead a student through a progress of exercises building their expertise. By the end of the course, the student should be able to create Oracle XML Publisher RTF templates and data templates. They should also be able to deploy and maintain a BI Publisher report in an E-Business Suite instance. Students will also be introduced to Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise. 7. • JMX Based Monitoring - Part One

  In all versions of the Oracle Utilities Application Framework there is an ability to use Java Management eXtensions (JMX) to both manage and monitor the various components of the product. This means that sites can use a JSR120 compliant JMX browser or JMX console to view or manage the components of the product with little or no configuration required. In each version we have progressively added JMX capabilities to allow IT groups more detailed information. In Oracle Utilities Application Framework V2.1 and above it was possible to use JMX on the Web Application Server provided Mbeans to allow you to monitor the online component of the product as well as manage the configuration. Also with a few additional java options it is possible to get a good level of detail about the Java Virtual machine including memory and thread usage. In Oracle Utilities Application Framework V2.2 and above, we added support for Java 5 statistics (Java enabled them by default), database pool statistics and also added the ability to manage and moinitor the batch component of the architecture. Now, in Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4 and above, we added support for Java 6 MXBeans, online management of the cache using JMX, additional JVM information and Performance monitoring using JMX. JMX allows the product to be managed from a common console such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Tivoli, HP OpenView (and a lot more). Over the next week or so I will be compiling a set of blog entries discussing what is available (in summary format) using JMX and how to get access to the JMX statistics for your version of the product.

• Visual Studio 2008 Crashes When Adding Custom Pipeline Components to Toolbox

  I have run into this issue trying to add custom pipeline component to toolbox. The only way (I know about) to add a custom pipeline component to a customized pipeline is using the visual designer. In order to do that you have to have components on toolbox. This was a bit frustrating. Google has brought one result which was exactly what I needed. One of the comments had another link, to the similar issue, but this time with a different title: Hotfix for BizTalk 2009 and Visual Studio 2008. I followed the link, installed hotfix, and it worked. Oh, yes, you have to reboot your machine for hotfix to work completely (this is where I spent some time pulling my hair out and asking why hotfix didn’t work?!). Once this is done, you are good to go. Among other things, this hotfix deals with BizTalk project references to each other and items not being updated (like distinguished fields in schemas project not reflected in orchestrations project). Here’s the full list: * The orchestrations in the referenced BizTalk project may show compiler warnings. * The changes that are made to the referenced BizTalk project are not propagated on to the referencing project. * When you edit the orchestrations of the referenced project, XLANG errors are thrown. These errors may disappear after the orchestrations are saved and recompiled. * After you deploy the referencing project, the local copies of the referenced project’s binaries are deleted. * After you deploy the referencing project, various errors or warnings occur in Orchestration Designer.
