Hi, I want to reinstall Ubuntu keeping my data intact. I have 160 GB hardrive (sata or pata I don't know but it's slim and made in China) with a 40 GB ext3 partition, a 4GB swap memory and 3 other partition with a FAT32 file system. I have around 4GB space on my drive where Linux is installed. I'd like to keep the data intact, especially the Downloads folder, desktop, and /var/www; And I no longer have access to any other machines or external storage devices.

  • Problem saving excel file after inserting data

    - by Cmptrb
Hi, I want to write data to an existing excel file ( I do it easily ) But I can not save the changes on the excel file ( actually I see the changes on the excel file, but it seems opened and after all it occurs some problems such as "the file is already opened with same name and so on ... ) Excel.Application app= new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application(); Excel.Workbook appbook= app.Workbooks.Open(appxls, 0, true, 5, "", "", false, Excel.XlPlatform.xlWindows, "\t", true, false, 0, true, Missing.Value, Missing.Value); Excel.Sheets pages= appbook.Worksheets; Excel.Worksheet page= (Excel.Worksheet)pages.get_Item(1); //... i change some values on the excel file and want to save them : // appxls is a string holding the path appbook.SaveAs(appxls, Excel.XlFileFormat.xlWorkbookNormal, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, false, Type.Missing, Excel.XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlShared, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing, Type.Missing); appbook.Close(true, Missing.Value, Missing.Value); app.Quit(); Where is the problem, how can I solve it using Microsoft.interop.

  • Type or namespace name could not be found

    - by Pandiya Chendur
I use this: public IQueryable<MaterialsView> FindAllMaterials() { var materials = from m in db.Materials join Mt in db.MeasurementTypes on m.MeasurementTypeId equals Mt.Id select new MaterialsView { MatId = m.Mat_Name, MesName = Mt.Name, MesType = m.Mat_Type }; return materials; } It gives me the following errors: The type or namespace name MaterialsView could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Cannot implicitly convert type System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<MaterialsView> to System.Linq.IQueryable<MaterialsView>. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) The type arguments for method System.Linq.Enumerable.ToList<TSource>(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<TSource>) cannot be inferred from the usage. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly. I have googled it and found this SO question but it doesn't help. What's wrong?

  • Help System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager find a type in a non-referenced assembly

    - by asbjornu
I'm trying to write a plug-in system where assemblies can be dropped in a folder that ASP.NET has no knowledge about. This plug-in system works fine for ASP.NET MVC based assemblies, but for old-school WebForm assemblies (where the .aspx files Inherits the System.Web.UI.Page derived classes) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager is responsible for compiling the .aspx file into a dynamic assembly. My problem is that the BuildManager knows nothing about the assemblies within my plug-in folder and it seems to be absolutely nothing I can do to help it. If I do: BuildManager.GetType("Type.Defined.In.Plugin.Assembly", true, true) it throws. If I first get a reference to the Type and then try: var instance = BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(path, type); it still throws, even though I've now passed in the specific type it needs to compile the .aspx file. Is there anything I can do to help BuildManager find the types it needs to compile the .aspx file?

  • Set and Verify the Retention Value for Change Data Capture

    - by AllenMWhite
Last summer I set up Change Data Capture for a client to track changes to their application database to apply those changes to their data warehouse. The client had some issues a short while back and felt they needed to increase the retention period from the default 3 days to 5 days. I ran this query to make that change: sp_cdc_change_job @job_type='cleanup', @retention=7200 The value 7200 represents the number of minutes in a period of 5 days. All was well, but they recently asked how they can verify...(read more)

But I want to check the status value using XSLT condition and set different URL name with @ID value.. How do I achieve this.. any help would be appreciated.. thanks deepu

  • Which has a faster data transfer rate? WIFI (tablet or cell phone, not LTE) or MicroSD (Class 10)?

    - by techaddict
Which of the two methods of dta transfer trasfers data at a faster rate for smartphones and tablets? Standard WIFI, or MicroSD Cards? I wonder if it would be actually faster to access data on external storage then it would be to have the MicroSD card in my smartphone or tablet. Currently I have a class 10 32GB MicroSD card in my cell phone. I am looking to get the new Google Nexus tablet but it does not offer expandable internal storage. I wonder if that's really a detriment; because if WIFI is faster than MicroSD, then it would matter almost none at all that you couldn't expand the storage internally. If the case is that WIFI is faster, and people caught onto this, then people could save a lot of money on lower memory ipads/iphones/ipods, tablets, and smartphones!

  • Using a Type object to create a generic

    - by Richard Neil Ilagan
Hello all! I'm trying to create an instance of a generic class using a Type object. Basically, I'll have a collection of objects of varying types at runtime, and since there's no way for sure to know what types they exactly will be, I'm thinking that I'll have to use Reflection. I was working on something like: Type elType = Type.GetType(obj); Type genType = typeof(GenericType<>).MakeGenericType(elType); object obj = Activator.CreateInstance(genType); Which is well and good. ^_^ The problem is, I'd like to access a method of my GenericType< instance, which I can't because it's typed as an object class. I can't find a way to cast it obj into the specific GenericType<, because that was the problem in the first place (i.e., I just can't put in something like:) ((GenericType<elType>)obj).MyMethod(); How should one go about tackling this problem? Many thanks! ^_^

  • LINQ Equivalent query

    - by GilliVilla
I have a List<string> List<string> students; students.Add("123Rob"); students.Add("234Schulz"); and a Dictionary<string, string> Dictionary<string, string> courses = new Dictionary<string, string>(); courses .Add("Rob", "Chemistry"); courses .Add("Bob", "Math"); courses .Add("Holly", "Physics"); courses .Add("Schulz", "Botany"); My objective now is to get a List with the values - {Chemistry,Botany} . In other words, I am trying to get the LINQ equivalent of select value from [courses] where [courses].key in ( select [courses].key from courses, students where [students].id LIKE '%courses.key%' ) How should the LINQ query be framed?

  • Apache Content negotiation returns wrong Content-Type with Mulitviews :(

    - by edbras
I am using Apache webserver 2.2 with Content Negotiation through Multiviews. I have: <Directory /home/develop/web/prodBuild> Options +MultiViews AddEncoding x-gzip .gz </Directory> This directory contains the gzip files. So if a browser requests the file bla.js, the server will return the file bla.js.gz as the file bla.js doesn't exists. However, the Content-Type on my Ubuntu server is set to be "application/x-gzip" which is wrong as it's a javascript file, so is has be "application/javascript" I have this working on my local Windows Apache server, but don't seem to get it working on the remote Ubuntu server. :(... NO idea why... Who/why is it setting this wrong Content-Type ? BTW: I don't have this line "AddType application/x-gzip .gz .tgz" somwhere in my config, as then I understand why it goes wrong. My workaround: add the following line under the above "AddEncoding": AddType "" .gz It will then set an empty string as Content-Type and then it works.. I think that the browser will try to discover the content type itself... I hope somebody can explain to me why this is not working and why this content type is set ? :(

  • Best practice? - Array/Dictionary as a Core Data Entity Attribute

    - by Run Loop
I am new to Core Data. I have noticed that collection types are not available as attribute types and would like to know what the most efficient way is of storing array/dictionary type data as an attribute (e.g. the elements that make up an address like street, city, etc. does not require a separate entity and is more conveniently stored as a dictionary/array than separate attributes/fields). Thank you.

  • How to specify multiple conditions and the type of condition using Zend_Db_Table

    - by Mario
I have a function in my model that I need to use multiple conditions when querying. Additionally I would like to also have partial matches. I currently have: public function searchClient($search_term) { $rows = $this->fetchAll( $this->select() ->where('first_name = ?', $search_term) ); return $rows->toArray(); } Which is the equivalent of "SELECT * FROM clients WHERE first_name = 'foobar';" I would like to have a function that is the equivalent of "SELECT * FROM clients WHERE first_name LIKE '%foobar%' OR last_name LIKE '%foobar%' OR home_phone LIKE '%foobar%';" How would I create such a query within Zend_Db_Table?

  • Java method: retrieve the inheriting type

But in this method I would like to know if I'm dealing with A or B. * public A extends C public B extends C public void goForIt(C c)() If I cast how can I retrieve the type in a clean way (I just read using getClass or instanceof is often not the best way). *Sorry but I can't type closing braces

  • type mismatch errors querying data from spreadsheet

    - by user2984933
In EXCEL 2010 I am trying to querying data in another spreadsheet. The data range in the source sheet/ file is named (DATABASE). The Date field in the database is formatted as short date and when I query the date without criteria I get a different format of European datesYYYY-MM-DD with time in the results. When I use criteria and a specific date in the date field criteria grid using English format MM-DD-YYYY I get results. When I set parameters looking at destination file cells for the date for the parameters, I get Type mismatch EVEN THOUGHT THE CELLS ARE Short date Formatted. This worked perfectly in my 2003 version of EXCEL. Now I am running Win 7 -64 and Office 2010 Pro. Why does the query throw Mismatch with cell references for the parameters but accepts hard value dates in any date format? (MSQRY32.EXE)
