    I already have an iPhone application (version 1.0) available in the App Store and am ready to submit a newer version (version 1.1). How do I test the new upgrade to make sure that the current sqlite database and property list files on the earlier version do not get deleted/overwritten etc? The new version assumes the old data in both the sqlite database and property lists remain. Or better yet, is there a resource I can use to walk me through what to watch for when developing an application update?

    I have setAttribute(Qt::WA_OpaquePaintEvent,true) on a widget. From a mouseMoveEvent, I scroll the widget. Now what I need to do is to update the newly exposed area, but it seems that doing this from the paintevent function create an artifact because there is a delay created when the user keeps scrolling. In other words, the widget seems to have scrolled again between the call to scrool and the call or end of paintevent. For example, while the paint event is trying to draw the desired area, the widget is still scrolling

    I have the following query.... UPDATE vehicle_catalog SET parent_id = 0 WHERE parent_id = SUBSTR(id, 0, 5) I need to set all parent_ids to 0 where the first 5 characters of id is the same as the parent_id. This is effecting 0 rows when I'm looking at the data and it should be effecting over 10,000. Any ideas on why this wouldn't be effecting all rows?

  • Package management fails in update-manager with gzip problems and compilation errors. U12.04LTS

    Similar to but not the same as Package management system corrupted. Cannot install or remove packages. U12.04LTS (an earlier problem) with package management system. Followed all of L. D. James suggestions in his answer to no avail. This time as well as the gzip error I am also getting compilation errors. The difference may be due to a lack of compilation in my earlier problem so it may be the same error. The packages concerned are enumerated in the output from update-manager below. Also included below that is the output from apt-get -f install apt-get autoremove gives same output. Tried update without SSL updates - 9 to install and got "Unhandled Error in aptdaemon". Output number 3 below. One at a time - output 4 - is for firefox, first in the list of packages. Falls over at libssl1.0.0 despite deselection of it from update ... Tried apt-get install --reinstall dpkg which succeeded, apt-get install --reinstall tar and apt-get install --reinstall gzip both of which failed at libssl1.0.0 as ever. (as suggested by Subv3rsion elsewhere in this forum) Now cannot apt-get update with complete success even after changing server and apt-get clean - output number 5 below ... 1).   • How to update SQL Server database from multiple data sources for ASP.Net MVC 4 application

    I have 10+ SQL Server databases, from where I would use one table from each database to display information using the application that I am creating. For instance, DB1, DB2....DB10. NewDB (Account, Country, Costcenter....etc.). I have started with creating a new database which would contain all the information from all those 10+ databases. However, I am confused in many cases. First of all what process should I follow? Shall I create a table (in new database) with the same structure as the actual data source and insert data from actual data source to new database? Should I be doing this on the DBMS? If so, is it some scripting? (hint expected since very new to this) I am creating a report generation application which has 10+ data sources. I need some hint which way should I proceed? Thanks for advice/help in advance.

    I'm currently taking the MS SQL 2K5 Admin course at a local college and ran into a problem with the Log Shipping part. My setup is the following: Windows 7 x64 SQL 2005 SP3 2 SQL server instances on the same machine Log Shipping settings: Performed full then log back up of Primary Manually restore on Secondary in STANDBY MODE Insert a new record into the table Set up Log Shipping on Primary using SQL Authenication login to connect to the Secondary Set up timers and copy destination on Secondary Monitoring instance not being used I set up a shared folder for WORKGROUP so both instances on the machine can read & write to it. I can see transaction logs generated and copied as defined by the Transaction Shipping wizard. However, the specified table on the Secondary instance is not updating.

  • Save or update for FK relationship Sqlalchemy

    I've googled, but haven't been able to find the answer to this seemingly simple question. I have two relations, a customer and an order. Each order is associated to a single cusomter, and therefore has a FK relationship to the customer table. The customer relation only stores customer names, and I have set a unique constraint on the customer table barring duplicate names. Let's say I create a new order instance and set a customer for the order. Something like: order_instance.customer = Customer("customer name") When I save the order instance, SqlAlchemy will complain if a customer with this name already exists in the customer table. How do I specify to SqlAlchemy to insert into the customer table if a customer with this name doesn't already exist, or just ignore (or even update) to the customer relation? I don't really want to have to check each time if a customer with some name already exists...

  • Entity framework Update fails when object is linked to a missing child

    I’m having trouble updating an objects child when the object has a reference to a nonexising child record. eg. Tables Car and CarColor have a relationship. Car.CarColorId CarColor.CarColorId If I load the car with its color record like so this var result = from x in database.Car.Include("CarColor") where x.CarId = 5 select x; I'll get back the Car object and it’s Color object. Now suppose that some time ago a CarColor had been deleted but the Car record in question still contains the CarColorId value. So when I run the query the Color object is null because the CarColor record didn’t exist. My problem here is that when I attach another Color object that does exist I get a Store update, insert error when saving. Car.Color = newColor Database.SaveChanges(); It’s like the context is trying to delete the nonexisting color. How can I get around this?
