  I've just finished re-installing my OS, and as always install and test standard tools which I use, and now I get this error like never before when I tried to start Jboss 5 from eclipse, its quite   Hello, I would like to know if is there any easy way to test actionscript by using some kind of application like ruby's irb or javasctip spidermonkey where you can just open up your terminal and type the code straight away. This would be a good time saver when speaking of actionscript, since to test some syntaxes, classes, etc. you would need to compile it via fsch. but still not a good option just for quick testing, etc...   I've posted a bigger chunk of the code below. You can see that initially QUOTE was procedural- coded in place. I'm trying to learn how to use declarative design so I want to do the same thing but by using resources. It seems like I need to access the string.xml thru the @R.id tag and identify QUOTE with that string value. But I don't know enough to negotiate this. Any tips? • grep --exclude/--include syntax (do not grep through certain files)

  I'm looking for the string "foo=" (without quotes) in text files in a directory tree. It's on a common Linux machine, I have bash shell: grep -ircl "foo=" * In the directories are also many binary files which match "foo=". As these results are not relevant and slow down the search, I want grep to skip searching these files (mostly JPEG and PNG images): how would I do that? I know there are the --exclude=PATTERN and --include=PATTERN options, but what is the pattern format? manpage of grep says: --include=PATTERN Recurse in directories only searching file matching PATTERN. --exclude=PATTERN Recurse in directories skip file matching PATTERN. Searching on grep include, grep include exclude, grep exclude and variants did not find anything relevant If there's a better way of grepping only in certain files, I'm all for it; moving the offending files is not an option, I can't search only certain directories (the directory structure is a big mess, with everything everywhere). Also, I can't install anything, so I have to do with common tools (like grep or the suggested find). • Looking for search syntax documentation for SharePoint UserProfileManager.Search Method

  Greetings - I have a SharePoint 2010 server running with the User Profile service setup to synchronize to Active Directory. I'd like to use the UserProfileManager.Search() method to return user profiles based on specific criteria. MSDN documentation for this method is here. It states that the method will return user profiles that match the specified search pattern. This is exactly what I want. However, there is no documentation on what a valid search pattern is. I've made a few guesses like "Department = 'HR'" but haven't had any luck. I can't find any other documentation or sample code. Can anyone provide samples of valid "search patterns?" Another way to return user profiles is to do a query using the FullTextSqlQuery object. We don't yet have Search setup on this server so this isn't currently an option. Thanks, Greg

  Can someone help me understand the following code? I found it here. It takes advantage of the JQuery UI Autocomplete with a remote source. I know the success function literal is an AJAX option which is called when the AJAX query returns. In this case, it seems to encapsulate a call to the response callback? Which is defined where? • OpenGL ES 2.0 FBO creation goes wrong with unknown error

I'm creating an FBO, binding a texture, and then the very first glDrawArrays() crashes with a "EXC_BAD_ACCESS" on my iPhone Simulator.   I'm trying to zoom in on a Google MapView on step in the oncreateMethod of my Activity. Everytime I try to zoom the map via the mapController I get an IllegalArgumentException: 04-15 10:16:51.012: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(528): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{com.innomos.couponimo.android.client/com.innomos.couponimo.android.client.ui.showstores.StoreMap}: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: width and height must be > 0 This Exception is thrown if I call the zoomOut or zoomIn function of MapController. Sadly the zoomIn function I'm using does not take any arguments.   I have an error in my GXT code on Internet Explorer (both Development Mode and not) when i try to attach a label to a panel. The error is "Unknown runtime error number: -2146827687" but this error in a GWT module is throws always, in other gwt modules with a label attached to the panel the error there isn't. The layout of panel is a GridFormLayout developed by me.   Hello, In RFCs there are references to quoted-string now I understand that this means a string contained in quotes. However, I'm unable to find the definition of what exactly is a valid quoted string. /"[^"]"/ = a correctly quoted string. /'[^']'/ = is this also a correctly quoted string? In other words, are both ' and " allowed as quotes when an RFC specifies quoted-string? Bonus points: In what document is this specified?

  I am looking for some way to export a .cs file to an .html file for posting on the web but my searches aren't helping much. I remember years ago an IDE called DevC++ could do this for C code, but I'm not sure how I'd do it with C# 4. Can Visual Studio do this somehow?

EDIT: Changed output as columns instead of rows: What I have been trying to do is get SQL Server to do this for me i.e. the final result to look like: Paul | 2 Matt | 5 Bob | 1 My code I am currently using is and I would be greatful if someone can help me change this so I can get it outputting something similar to above? • Is there an "opposite" to the null coalescing operator? (…in any language?)

  null coalescing translates roughly to return x, unless it is null, in which case return y I often need return null if x is null, otherwise return x.y I can use return x == null ? null : x.y; Not bad, but that null in the middle always bothers me -- it seems superfluous. I'd prefer something like return x :: x.y;, where what follows the :: is evaluated only if what precedes it is not null. I see this as almost an opposite to null coalescence, kind of mixed in with a terse, inline null-check, but I'm [almost] certain that there is no such operator in C#. Are there other languages that have such an operator? If so, what is it called? (I know that I can write a method for it in C#; I use return NullOrValue.of(x, () => x.y);, but if you have anything better, I'd like to see that too.)

  In Perl, when you have a nested data structure, it is permissible to omit de-referencing arrows to 2d and more level of nesting. In other words, the following two syntaxes are identical: my $hash_ref = { 1 => [ 11, 12, 13 ], 3 => [31, 32] }; my $elem1 = $hash_ref->{1}->[1]; my $elem2 = $hash_ref->{1}[1]; # exactly the same as above Now, my question is, is there a good reason to choose one style over the other? It seems to be a popular bone of stylistic contention (Just on SO, I accidentally bumped into this and this in the space of 5 minutes). So far, none of the usual suspects says anything definitive: perldoc merely says "you are free to omit the pointer dereferencing arrow". Conway's "Perl Best Practices" says "whenever possible, dereference with arrows", but it appears to only apply to the context of dereferencing the main reference, not optional arrows on 2d level of nested data structures. "MAstering Perl for Bioinfirmatics" author James Tisdall doesn't give very solid preference either: "The sharp-witted reader may have noticed that we seem to be omitting arrow operators between array subscripts. (After all, these are anonymous arrays of anonymous arrays of anonymous arrays, etc., so shouldn't they be written [$array-[$i]-[$j]-[$k]?) Perl allows this; only the arrow operator between the variable name and the first array subscript is required. It make things easier on the eyes and helps avoid carpal tunnel syndrome. On the other hand, you may prefer to keep the dereferencing arrows in place, to make it clear you are dealing with references. Your choice." Personally, i'm on the side of "always put arrows in, since itg's more readable and obvious tiy're dealing with a reference".

• Language Tricks to Shorten My Java Code?

  I am currently rediscovering Java (working with Ruby a lot recently), and I love the compilation-time checking of everything. It makes refactoring so easy. However, I miss playing fast-and-loose with types to do an each loop. This is my worst code. Is this as short as it can be? I have a collection called looperTracks, which has instances that implement Looper. I don't want to modify that collection, but I want to iterate through its members PLUS the this (which also implements Looper). List<Looper> allLoopers = new ArrayList<Looper>(looperTracks.length + 1); for (LooperTrack track : looperTracks) { allLoopers.add(track); } allLoopers.add(this); for (Looper looper : allLoopers) { // Finally! I have a looper I'm particularly concerned about any features that are new to Java from 1.5 on that I may have missed. For this question I am not asking about JRuby nor Groovy, though I know that they would work for this. Edit: Sorry (too much Ruby!)... looperTracks is of type LooperTrack[] and LooperTrack implements Looper.
