    I know that when you are on shell, the only commands that can be used are the ones that can be found on some directory set on PATH. Even I don't know how to see what dirs are on my PATH variable (and this is another good question that could be answered), what I'd like to know is: I come to shell and write: $ lshw I want to know a command on shell that can tell me WHERE this command is located. In other words, where this "executable file" is located? Something like: $ location lshw /usr/bin Anyone?

    I list products on my homepage and on a company details page. I use the exact same HTML, but for some reason the product appears different: The productname is "Artikel 1". Here the product is displayed correctly: http://www.zorgbeurs.nl/ Notice how the green price area is right below the product. But here: http://www.zorgbeurs.nl/bedrijven/76/mymedical the green price area is all the way at the bottom of the page. Why?

  • Find common nodes from two linked lists using recursion

    I have to write a method that returns a linked list with all the nodes that are common to two linked lists using recursion, without loops. For example, first list is 2 - 5 - 7 - 10 second list is 2 - 4 - 8 - 10 the list that would be returned is 2 - 10 I am getting nowhere with this.. What I have been think of was to check each value of the first list with each value of the second list recursively but the second list would then be cut by one node everytime and I cannot compare the next value in the first list with the the second list. I hope this makes sense... Can anyone help?

Describe an algorithm that finds if there is an element/s that repeat itself at least n/k times... if there is return one - do it in linear time running O(n) Imortent: now the catch do this algorithm or even pseuo-code using a constant usage of memory and running over the array only TWICE!!!

  • Need to find number of new unique ID numbers in a MySQL table

    I have an iPhone app out there that "calls home" to my server every time a user uses it. On my server, I create a row in a MySQL table each time with the unique ID (similar to a serial number) aka UDID for the device, IP address, and other data. Table ClientLog columns: Time, UDID, etc, etc. What I'd like to know is the number of new devices (new unique UDIDs) on a given date. I.e. how many UDIDs were added to the table on a given date that don't appear before that date? Put plainly, this is the number of new users I gained that day. This is close, I think, but I'm not 100% there and not sure it's what I want... SELECT distinct UDID FROM ClientLog a WHERE NOT EXISTS ( SELECT * FROM ClientLog b WHERE a.UDID = b.UDID AND b.Time <= '2010-04-05 00:00:00' ) I think the number of rows returned is the new unique users after the given date, but I'm not sure. And I want to add to the statement to limit it to a date range (specify an upper bound as well).

I can't seem to remember the safe way to cast this to call hide if it is really of type Control and do nothing otherwise.     I'm trying to use reflection to automatically test that all my linq2sql entities match the test database. I thought I'd do this by getting all the classes that inherit from DataContext from my assembly: var contexttypes = Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof (BaseRepository<,>)).GetTypes().Where( t => t.IsSubclassOf(typeof(DataContext))); foreach (var contexttype in contexttypes) { var context = Activator.CreateInstance(contexttype); var tableProperties = type.GetProperties().Where(t=> t.PropertyType.Name == typeof(ITable<>).Name); foreach (var propertyInfo in tableProperties) { var table = (propertyInfo.GetValue(context, null)); } } So far so good, this loops through each ITable< in each datacontext in the project. If I debug the code, "table" is properly instantiated, and if I expand the results view in the debugger I can see actual data. BUT, I can't figure out how to get my code to actually query that table. I'd really like to just be able to do table.FirstOrDefault() to get the top row out of each table and make sure the SQL fetch doesn't fail. But I cant cast that table to be anything I can query. Any suggestions on how I can make this queryable? Just the ability to call .Count() would be enough for me to ensure the entities don't have anything that doesn't match the table columns.

So i started out with this: select max(count(price)) from orders group by price which gives me 3. after some time i didn't think that was helpful. i believe i needed the value 14 and 21 rather the the count so i can put that in the where clause. but I'm stuck how to display that. any help?
