  • How do I use a command line tool to install .net 4 to IIS

    I'm trying to deploy my WCF RIA services application to our in-house server for testing. I've been following the instructions and comments from this blog site: http://timheuer.com/blog/archive/2009/12/10/tips-to-deploy-ria-services-troubleshoot.aspx At the end someone points to this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1528324/how-to-solve-a-http-error-404-3-not-found-error I've been trying to run that same tool with .net 4.0 but it keeps giving me an error: [Warning]The HTTP namespace reservation already exists. I am running the version of the exe that I found inside of C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.21006 There is also C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation that has (what I assume is) the same exe in it, and I can use it just fine. I've tried to un-install the 3.0 version before installing the 4.0 version, but I am still getting the same warning and failure. Has anyone successfully done this with .net 4.0?

I can use Fiddler's request builder to to construct the proper requests and changing the content type does yield the correct results.

However, I need to take into account what the time is right now. For Example: Now it is 1:00 PM Time1=5:00 AM Time 2 = 12:00 PM Time 3= 4:00 PM Time 4 = 6:00 PM So since the time is 1:00PM, I need to find the difference between Time 2 and Time 3 Now is there a smarter way other than reflection to determine this?   • Constraining to parent container with MouseDragElementBehavior

    Hi all, I just had a question regarding constraining a control's drag and drop movement to its parent canvas. I tried using the ConstrainToParentBounds property on the MouseDragElementBehavior, however, when this is used the drag must be done really slowly or the movement of the control is choppy or stops altogether. So I am attempting to implement my own boundary constraints. I seem to be running into difficulty though. I am still using the MouseDragElementBehavior but am attempting to supplement it by also handling mouseleftbuttondown, mousemove, mouseleftbuttonup events. I know that these are working (haven't been overridden by the MouseDragElementBehavior) as I have tested them using other methods.     Hi, I have a quite simple scenario that I cannot get to work correctly. I have 2 views, CarView and CarWindowView (childwindow) with corresponding ViewModels. In my CarView I have an EditButton that that opens CarWindowView (childwindow) where I can edit the Car object fields. My problem is that the DisplayModule method in my CarWindowView ViewModel is getting called too many times...When I push the edit button first time its getting called once, the second time its getting called twince, the third time its getting called 3 times and so fort... !   • "Genie" animation effect in XAML

    What would the XAML look like to create a Genie animation effect? Take an object of any size/shape, and "Genie" it to another Minimized location. Kind of like the OSX window minimize. Maybe even a little fancier through a smoke-like effect where the path is more switch back, instead of a simple funnel (if that makes any sense). I'm guessing that there is some sort of Path that could be drawn, and the shape could move and transform along that path. Just a wild guess. Thanks for your ideas.

    Hi guys. Trying to fiddle around with regex here, my first attempt. Im trying to extract some figures out of content from an XML tag. The content looks like this: www.blahblah.se/maps.aspx?isAlert=true&lat=51.958855252721&lon=-0.517657021473527 I need to extract the lat and long numerical vales out of each link. They will always be the same amount of characters, and the lon may or may not have a "-" sign.     I am using the drag gesture to move elements on a canvas. I am using the pinch gesture to zoom/tranlate the size of the canvas. What I want to do now is move the entire canvas based on the movement of both fingers in a pinch. I know I can do this with the move, but I need that for items on the canvas itself, and sometimes the entire canvas is covered with items that would make it so you could not select the canvas to move it. Is this possible with the PinchGestureEventArgs?

  • Weird splitter behaviour when moving it

    My demo app displays two rectangles which should fill whole browser's screen. There is a vertical splitter between them. This looks like a basic scenario but I have no idea how to implement this in xaml. I cannot force this to fill whole screen and when moving splitter then whole screen grows.   • Disable the mouse click event of a button placed inside a listbox item

    I have a button placed inside a listbox item and i have style defined fro that button where i have two images and on mouse hover i change the image. Now the problem is I am handling the listbox mouse event and when click the button the listbox mouse event doesn't fires. I tried to make the property of button ishittestvisisble=false And now if i click on button the listbox mouse event fires but the problem is the two images placed inside the styling of button don't apply as they are the child of button and by default their ishittestvisible also turn out to be false. So any suggestion or idea will be helpfull ....tx in advance...

Basically the image inside the "grid1" will be setting its opacity to 1, slowly. I would prefer to use states, but I do not know of any way to just tell blend and xaml to "When a selected item is changed, change the image opacity to 1 over a period of .3 seconds". Infact, I have been doing this in the .cs file using the VisualStateManager. Also, there is another issue. When the selected index is changed, we goto the CS file and look at SelectedItem. SelectedItem returns an instance of the Object in which it was bound to (The object inside the observable collection), and NOT an instance of the DataTemplate/ListItem etc. So how am I able to pull the correct image out of this list? State animation with VisualStateManager I can handle fine if its just normal things, but when it comes to generated listboxes' items, I'm lost. Thanks

  • WriteableBitmap failing badly, pixel array very inaccurate

    I have tried, literally for hours, and I have not been able to budge this problem. I have a UserControl, that is 800x369, and it contains, simply, a path that forms a worldmap. I put this on a landscape page, then I render it into a WriteableBitmap. I then run a conversion to turn the 1d Pixels array into a 2d array of integers. Then, to check the conversion, I wire up the custom control's click command to use the Point.X and Point.Y relative to the custom control in the newly created array. My logic is thus: wb = new WriteableBitmap(worldMap, new TranslateTransform()); wb.Invalidate(); intTest = wb.Pixels.To2DArray(wb.PixelWidth); My conversion logic is as such: public static int[,] To2DArray(this int[] arr,int rowLength) { int[,] output = new int[rowLength, arr.Length / rowLength]; if (arr.Length % rowLength != 0) throw new IndexOutOfRangeException(); for (int i = 0; i < arr.Length; i++) { output[i % rowLength, i / rowLength] = arr[i]; } return output; } Now, when I do the checking, I get completely and utterly strange results: apparently all pixels are either at values of -1 or 0, and these values are completely independent of the original colours. Just for posterity: here's my checking code: private void Check(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { Point click = e.GetPosition(worldMap); ChangeNotification(intTest[(int)click.X,(int)click.Y].ToString()); } The result show absolutely no correlation to the path that the WriteableBitmap has rendered into it. The path has a fill of solid white. What the heck is going on? I've tried for hours with no luck. Please, this is the major problem stopping me from submitting my first WP7 app. Any guidance?

  • Fun with "The remote server returned an error: NotFound" - Silverlight4 Out of Browser

    Hey all - I'm running SL4 on VS2010. I've got an app that authenticates via a web service to SPROC in my db. Unfortunately this is not WCF/WCF RIA, as I'm inheriting the DB/services from my client. This works perfectly inside of a browser. I'm attempting to move this OOB, and it's at this point that my authentication fails. Here's the steps I took... 1) SL App Properties Enable running app Out of Browser 2) SL App Properties Out of Browser Settings Require elevated trust when running OOB If i set a breakpoint on my logon button click, I see the service call is being made. However, if I step through it (or set a breakpoint on the actual logon web service), the code never gets that far. Here's the block it fails on: public LogonSVC.LogonResponse EndLogon(System.IAsyncResult result) { object[] _args = new object[0]; LogonSVC.LogonResponse _result = ((LogonSVC.LogonResponse)(base.EndInvoke("Logon", _args, result))); return _result; } I know using Elevated Trust means the crossdomain.xml isn't necessary. I dropped one in that allows everything, just to test, and that still fails. here's the code that calls the service: private void loginButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { string Username = txtUserName.Text; string Password = txtPassword.Password; Uri iSilverlightServiceUriRelative = new Uri(App.Current.Host.Source, "../Services/Logon.asmx"); EndpointAddress iSilverlightServiceEndpoint = new EndpointAddress(iSilverlightServiceUriRelative); BasicHttpBinding iSilverlightServiceBinding = new BasicHttpBinding(BasicHttpSecurityMode.Transport);// Transport if it's HTTPS:// LogonService = new LogonSVC.LogonSoapClient(iSilverlightServiceBinding, iSilverlightServiceEndpoint); LogonService.LogonCompleted += new EventHandler<LogonSVC.LogonCompletedEventArgs>(LogonService_LogonCompleted); LogonService.LogonAsync(Username, Password); } My LogonService_LogonCompleted doesn't fire either (which makes sense, just a heads up).     A canvas is received from the server, and an image brush is extracted from the canvas via searching for a bunch of pathes. In summary, Canvas - Path - Path.Fill - ImageBrush. Now, I want to take a snapshot of the ImageBrush using WriteableBitmap when it is loaded and here is what I did var imageBrushes = VisualTreeUtility.FindVisualChildren<Path>(canvas) .Where(i => i.Fill.GetType() == typeof(ImageBrush)) .Select(p => p.Fill); foreach(var image in imageBrushes) { image.ImageOpened += delegate { //never gets here }; image.ImageFailed += delegate { //never gets here either }; // if the image is already loaded if (((BitmapSource)image.ImageSource).PixelWidth != 0) { // never gets here either } } As you can see the comments in the code above, no matter what I try, I can't seem to catch an event from the image. Any suggestions?

    Hi all, I need to load HTML and parse it, I think that it should be something simple, I pass a string with a "HTML" it reads the string in a Dom like object, so I can search and parse the content of the HTML, facilitating scraping and things like that. Do you guys know about any thing like that. Thanks
