  • jCarousel jQuery ajax loading 1000 records

    I'm using jCarousel to present a vertical scolling list of +-1000 names. I am using ajax to load the data 100 records at a time then when all the data has loaded I just let the jCarousel loop in the DOM.     I am having difficulties with trying to load a user by their id, for some reason my http.get call isn't hitting my controller. I get the following error in the browser console: TypeError: undefined is not a function at new <anonymous> (http://localhost:9000/scripts/controllers/users.js:10:8) Update I've fixed my code up as per comments below, but now my code just enters an infinite loop in the angular users controllers (see code below).     (I'm doing this in AS3, but I'm sure the answer could be given in psuedocode) Basically, I have a XML file similar to: <Main> <Event> <Name>Blah</Name> <Event> Name>Blah2</Name> <Event> <Name>Blah3</Name> ... </Event> </Event> </Event> </Main> Yeah, to some extent it's poor design. But the idea I'm going for is that any Event has the potential to compromise of other Events and this idea kinda loops. Any ideas on how to do this?

    I have a base class and several derived classes. The derived classes use some common data, can I just put those common data as protected member of the base class? I know the protected member breaks encapsulation sometimes, so I wonder if there is any good approach. Here is a specific example: class Base{ public: virtual void foo() = 0; void printData(); protected: std::vector<std::string> mData; } class Dr1 : public Base{ public: virtual void foo(); //could change mData } class Dr2 : public Base{ public: virtual void foo(); //could change mData } If I put mData into Dr1 and Dr2 as private member, then I need to put it in both of them, and I can not have printData() in Base since printData() need access to mData unless I make printData() virtual and have identical function in both Dr1 and Dr2, which doesn't make much sense to me. Is there a better way to approach this without using protected member? Thank you.

  • JQuery/AJAX: Loading external DIVs using dynamic content

    I need to create a page that will load divs from an external page using Jquery and AJAX. I have come across a few good tutorials, but they are all based on static content, my links and content are generated by PHP. The main tutorial I am basing my code on is from: http://yensdesign.com/2008/12/how-to-load-content-via-ajax-in-jquery/ The exact function i need is as follows: Main page contains a permanent div listing some links containing a parameter. Upon click, link passes parameter to external page. External page filters recordset against parameter and populates div with results. The new div contains a new set of links with new parameters. The external div is loaded underneath the main pages first div. Process can then be repeated creating a chain of divs under each other. The last div in the chain will then direct to a new page collating all the previously used querystrings. I can handle all of the PHP work with populating the divs on the main and external pages.     This is probably a simple question, however I am new to C++ and I cannot figure this out. I am trying to load a binary file and load each byte to a vector. This works fine with a small file, but when I try to read larger than 410 bytes the program crashes and says: This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.   • Sharing class member data between sub components

    I have an aggregate 'main' class which contains some data which I wish to share. The main class also has other class members. I want to share the data with these other class members. What is the correct / neatest way to do this? The specific example I have is as follows. The main class is a .net Form. I have some controls (actually controls within controls) on the main form which need access to the shared data. Main Form - DataX - DataY - Control1 -- Subcontrol1 - Control2 -- SubControl2 SubControls 1 and 2 both wish to access DataX and DataY. The trouble is, I feel like better practice (to reduce coupling), would be that either subcontrols should not know about Main Form, or Main Form should not know about subcontrols - probably the former. For subcontrols not to know about Main Form, would probably mean Main Form passing references to both Controls 1 and 2, which in turn would pass the references on to SubControls 1 and 2. Lots of lines of code which just forward the references. If I later added DataZ and DataW, and Controls 3 and 4 and SubControls 3 and 4, I'd have to add lots more reference forwarding code. It seems simpler to me to give SubControls 1 and 2 member references to Main Form. That way, any sub control could just ask for MainForm.DataX or MainForm.DataY and if I ever added new data, I could just access it directly from the sub controls with no hassle. But it still involves setting the 'MainForm' member references every time I add a new Control or Subcontrol. And it gives me a gut feeling of 'wrong'. As you might be able to tell I'm not happy with either of my solutions. Is there a better way? Thanks

  • vcxproj file won't load into solution.

    We've just recently switched to VS 2010 and i had a solution that was working fine. This moring when i try to load the solution i get the error: "An item with the same key has already been added." This occurs when it is trying to load one of our main projects and it is not loaded. I assumed the problem was with my solution so i created a brand new empty solution and tried to load the same vcxproj and got exactly the same error. When i revert the project file to a previous version it works, so apparently it's something in the vcxproj file. However it also appears that i'm the only one in the office that is affected. So some combination of the vcxproj file and my computer seems to be the issue. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any ideas on a solution? Thanks

    I found something about my problem, but I don't already understand very well. I need to do something like this: class T{ double a; public: double b; void setT(double par){ a=par; }; double funct(double par1) { return par1/a; } void exec(){ b=extfunct(funct, 10); } } double extfunct(double (*f)(double),double par2){ return f(par2)+5; } Operation and function are only for example, but the structure is that. The reason of this structure is that I have a precostituited class which finds the minimum of a gived function (it's extfunct in the example). So I have to use it on a function member of a class. I understood the difference between pointer to function and pointer to member function, but I don't understand how to write it. Thanks, and sorry for the poor explanation of the problem.

Inmy project im using progressbar..I would like to change it to something like a rotating gif image which indicates the processing or someother labels which prevents the user from interacting to the program.I tried to implement the gif image by using background worker but its hanging may be coz of huge file transfer process.. So im searching for someother alternative like a label which will disable the content and prevent the user to interact with the program. Could anybody help me on this?

    I am trying to write a web widget which will allow users to display customized information (from my website) in their own web page. The mechanism I want to use (for creating the web widget) is javascript. So basically, I want to be able to write some javascript code like this (this is what the end user copies into their HTML page, to get my widget displayed in their page) <script type="text/javascript"> /* javascript here to fetch page from remote url and insert into DOM */ </script> I have two questions: how do I write a javascript code to fetch the page from the remote url? Ideally this will be PLAIN javascript (i.e. not using jQuery etc - since I dont want to force the user to get third party scripts jQuery which may conflict with other scripts on their page etc) The page I am fetching contains inline javascript, which gets executed in an body.onLoad event, as well as other functions which are used in response to user actions - my questions are: i). will the body.onLoad event be triggered for the retrieved document?. ii). If the retrieved page is dumped directly into the DOM, then the document will contain two <body> sections, which is no longer valid (X)HTML - however, I need the body.onLoad event to be triggered for the page to be setup correctly, and I also need the other functions in the retrieved page, for the retrieved page to be able to respond to the user interaction. Any suggestions/tips on how I can solve these problems?

  • iPhone loading view from nib only works once

    Hi Forum I'm trying to add a «loader-view» to my app which shows a spinner while doing stuff. This works fine the first time, but it doesn't work a second time. here's what I do: I have a viewController for the spinner (spinnerViewController) and a nib-file which I made in IB (spinner.xib). I load the nib in the viewDidLoad-event: spinnerView = [[spinnerViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"spinner" bundle:nil]; [spinnerView retain]; spinnerView is declared in the .h-file (spinnerViewController *spinnerView;) next, I show the spinner-view: [self.view addSubview:spinnerView.view]; [self.view bringSubviewToFront:spinnerView.view]; which works fine... And now the trouble starts. No matter what I do, I can't show the spinner view again. I tried just hiding it (self.view sendSubViewToBack: spinnerView.view) which works for hiding, but when I try to bring it to the front again (self.view bringSubViewToFront: spinnerView.view) it doesn't work. I also tried removing the spinner-view and add it again with no success (within the spinnerViewController: [self.view removeFromSuperview] and to show it again [self.view addSubview... ) Any ideas what I'm doing wrong??? ;) Thanks for the help!

  • Stylesheets loading but styles not showing...

    Hi- I have a website I created in VS2010 and am trying to run with IIS7. My website starts in all major browsers but for some reason the styles are not applied even though I've confirmed using Firebug that the stylesheets have indeed loaded. Also, when I use the inspect tool to click on an element, I can see in the right-side box the specific styles that are supposed to be applied. I thought this might be a permissions issue but I think I've got those set properly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I want to turn every single instance in the class interludeIntro invisible, but I want to turn specific instances visible later.   • Loading SQLite Database into Android App

    I am able to create, write and read an SQLite Database in my Android App. I have a copy of the Database that is fully populated with data, and I want to get that data into the App's Database. Is it possible to access my pouplaed database from inside my App? Or can I at least create a copy of the populated database and then use that copy? Or do I need to do a .dump and put all the inserts into the Android code?
