• How do I determine whether I am going "forward" or "backward" through my History in GWT?

  I am looking at History and History JavaDocs in GWT and I notice that there is no way to tell whether the forward or backward button was pressed (either pragmatically or by the user). The "button press" is handled by your registered addValueChangeHandler, but the only thing passed to the handler is a string on your history stack. There is no indication as to whether the "History" is moving "back" (using the back arrow button) or "forward" (using the right arrow button). Is there any way to determine this?

  How do we get a particular filtered row as series? Example dataframe: >>> df = pd.DataFrame({'date': [20130101, 20130101, 20130102], 'location': ['a', 'a', 'c']}) >>> df date location 0 20130101 a 1 20130101 a 2 20130102 c I need to select the row where location is c as a series. I tried: row = df[df["location"] == "c"].head(1) # gives a dataframe row = df.ix[df["location"] == "c"] # also gives a dataframe with single row In either cases I can't the row as series.

• MATLAB command for exporting geometry from pdetool

  I'm writing a MATLAB script which solves for the eigenmodes of a defined polygon. MATLAB's PDE toolbox lets me define the geometry using the command pdepoly() but I need to export the geometry description matrix manually to the workspace through the GUI before I can decompose, mesh, and solve the pde. Does anyone know either a command to export the geometry to the workspace or a better way to define this geometry description matrix in MATLAB? Many Thanks

Animal *a = new Dog(); Dog *d = new Dog(); In one, the pointer is for the base class, and in the other, the pointer is for the derived class. But when would this distinction become important?   I have an IHttpModule that implements IRequiresSessionState. The session state is at "on" on the page directive and I also added it to the web.config. In the method "OnBeginRequest" in the IHttpModule, I make a Server.Transfer but I get the error : Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. When I access the page directly or with a Response.Redirect, there is no error. Any idea?

  On my midterm I had the problem: t(n) = 8T(n/2) +n^3 and I am supposed to find its big theta notation using either the masters or alternative method. So what i did was a = 8, b = 2 k = 3 log8 (base 2) = 3 = k therefore, T(n) is big theta n^3. I got 1/3 points so i must be wrong. What did I do wrong?
