  • Using of html5 <video> tag in web-based applications for iPhone

    - by Alexander Sharov
As you know iPhone plays video content from < video tags in full-screen mode via internal media player. Here I have several questions: 1) is it possible to show custom text over video playing? something like subtitles appeared during movie playback. I tried several solutions like http://blog.gingertech.net/2008/12/12/attaching-subtitles-to-html5-video/, but seems they are not working in iPhone case. Ideally, I want to add some div over media player and show necessary information there. 2) is there any way to disable controls of iPhone media player. Seams it is not metter if you add "controls" attrinbute to < video tag or don't add, iPhone always switch on controls for media player. The goal for me is do not allow to user to change playback possition(user should see full movie from start to finish. Of course user can stop the video, but he can't rewind a record) Thanks for your help.

  • emacs elisp buffer not running font lock mode until opened by user

    - by jacob
My problem is I am opening a buffer using (set-buffer (find-tag-noselect (current-word))) and then I try to copy some text out of that buffer. The text that I get back has only the properties (fontified nil). find-tag-noselect automatically opens the buffer found in the TAGS file but it seems it does not run the font lock mode over it. When I manually switch to this buffer after it has been opened and then run the function again when it copies the text it has all the correct text properties attached. So what do I need to do to have this buffer completely initialized so that the correct syntax highlighting will be copied in?

  • How to search an XML when parsing it using SAX in nokogiri

    - by ralph
I have a simple but huge xml file like below. I want to parse it using SAX and only print out text between the title tag. <root> <site>some site</site> <title>good title</title> </root> I have the following code: require 'rubygems' require 'nokogiri' include Nokogiri class PostCallbacks < XML::SAX::Document def start_element(element, attributes) if element == 'title' puts "found title" end end def characters(text) puts text end end parser = XML::SAX::Parser.new(PostCallbacks.new) parser.parse_file("myfile.xml") problem is that it prints text between all the tags. How can I just print text between the title tag?

  • setting a timeout using a manually created forms authentication ticket

    - by Nicklamort
The constructors for manually creating FormsAuthenticationTicket objects force us to set an "expiration" value, and this value overrides the "timeout" setting in web.config in my tags, which is not what I want, because now the user doesn't timeout. The "session" just expires at the given time. I need to manually create my ticket for UserData reasons, and it is just the way I decided to build my app. I guess I could spend a whole lot of time and redo the way my app. authorizes, and store the "userdata" elsewhere... but this seems extremely tedious for something so small.. Is there anyway to manually create an Auth Ticket and still maintain timeout settings?! And by timeout, I mean resetting the timer on user activity. Not a fixed timeout! Please help!

  • Emacs Column based Narrowing or Folding

    - by froit
Is there column based narrowing in emacs. I tend narrow in one everything between script tags but that still keeps the original indent (space before var). It would be great if I could actually column narrow to the the beginning of the indent since otherwise the electrict indent tries to bring it to column 0. var foo = 1; var bar = 2; Alternate solution could be to mark the starting indents as uneditable, but I am also not sure how to do this. P.S. I am aware of MMM and NXHTML and html-helper-modes, but I am not looking to use them due to complexities.

  • Google Maps API Geocode gives error "Invalid label" in Firefox

    - by Bennystijn
Today I struggled with the following: $.ajax({url:'http://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/jsonaddress=Karachi&sensor=false&output=json&callback=?', dataType: 'json', success: function(data){ //eval("("+data+")"); alert(data); } }); Firefox gives the error "Invalid Label" and Chrome "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token :". I found a lot of posts about this, and I tried all kinds of things like eval(), but also: $.getJSON('http://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/jsonaddress=Karachi&sensor=false&output=json&callback=?', function(data){ //eval("("+data+")"); alert(data); } ); Same result. Also, other json data works fine, for instance flickr ("http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?tags=cat&tagmode=any&format=json&jsoncallback=?). So it has something to do with the Google Maps API output i guess.. Thanks in advance.

  • Library to parse ERB files

    - by Douglas Sellers
I am attempting to parse, not evaluate, rails ERB files in a Hpricot/Nokogiri type manner. The files I am attempting to parse contain HTML fragments intermixed with dynamic content generated using ERB (standard rails view files) I am looking for a library that will not only parse the surrounding content, much the way that Hpricot or Nokogiri will but will also treat the ERB symbols, <%, <%= etc, as though they were html/xml tags. Ideally I would get back a DOM like structure where the <%, <%= etc symbols would be included as their own node types. I know that it is possible to hack something together using regular expressions but I was looking for something a bit more reliable as I am developing a tool that I need to run on a very large view code base where both the html content and the erb content are important. For example, content such as: blah blah blah <divMy Great Text <%= my_dynamic_expression %</div Would return a tree structure like: root - text_node (blah blah blah) - element (div) - text_node (My Great Text ) - erb_node (<%=)

  • Using Qt to read and parse html files with QWebKit?

    - by Alberto Toglia
I would like to read and parse certain elements of html files but I'm not interested in rendering it in any way. Basically I would like to go through all my div tags and get some of its style attributes. This is what I've done so far: QWebPage page; QWebFrame * frame = page.mainFrame(); QUrl fileUrl("localFile.html"); frame->setUrl(fileUrl); QWebElement document = frame->documentElement(); QWebElementCollection elements = document.findAll("div"); foreach (QWebElement element, elements){ std::cout << element.attribute("style").toStdString() << std::endl; } Doesn't show anything. I'm somewhat confused if I could use webkits this way. P.D.: I'm using a filechooser to pick the local html root.

  • Grails URL's with Tomcat/Apache ProxyPass

    - by intargc
Grails tends to write out the URL for everything that uses its tags as /appName/whatever. For instance, if I use the tag: <g:javascript library="jquery"/> the resulting tag is <script src="/appName/jquery/jquery.js"></script> This causes an issue with using ProxyPass with Apache/Tomcat. All of my CSS, JS, Images and links have that /appName prefixed to them. Is there a way to work around this with ProxyPass or possibly a way for Grails to not prefix the appName to the front of all of my URL's?

  • DIV Overlaying DIV, links in backmost DIV non-accessible

    - by Shawn
I have a photoshop image that is 500x600 that I am using as a background image for the first div. The second div sits over top of the first div and is populated with images. The z-index of the first div is set to 100. The effect is the photoshop image sits over top of all of the smaller images. The photoshop image is a letter with the inner-content of it set to be transparent and the small images create the filling. Each of the small images however is a link, but none of the links are accessible. How can I remedy that? I would post the code here, but I have absolutely no clue how to format it. I quite simply do not understand typing a backtick followed by the tab key and then a dollar sign. All that ends up is I type a backtick here followed by a dollar sign in the Tags section below.

  • Extracting pure content / text from HTML Pages by excluding navigation and chrome content

    - by Ankur Gupta
Hi, I am crawling news websites and want to extract News Title, News Abstract (First Paragraph), etc I plugged into the webkit parser code to easily navigate webpage as a tree. To eliminate navigation and other non news content I take the text version of the article (minus the html tags, webkit provides api for the same). Then I run the diff algorithm comparing various article's text from same website this results in similar text being eliminated. This gives me content minus the common navigation content etc. Despite the above approach I am still getting quite some junk in my final text. This results in incorrect News Abstract being extracted. The error rate is 5 in 10 article i.e. 50%. Error as in Can you Suggest an alternative strategy for extraction of pure content, Would/Can learning Natural Language rocessing help in extracting correct abstract from these articles ? How would you approach the above problem ?. Are these any research papers on the same ?. Regards Ankur Gupta

  • Django and App Engine

    - by notnoop
I wanted to check the status of running Django on the Google App Engine currently and what the benefits of running django on GAE over simply using Webapp. Django main killer feature, IMHO, is the reuseable apps and middleware. Unfortunately, most current Django apps use models or model forms (django-tags, django-reviews, django-profiles, Pinax apps). So what are the remaining features or benefits that django has that can still run in Google App Engine (other than what's disabled: the popular django apps, session and authentication middleware, users and admin, models, etc). Also, is there a list of the Django apps that work in App Engine as well?

  • python: subclass a metaclass

    - by Michael Konietzny
Hello, for putting methods of various classes into a global registry I'm using a decorator with a metaclass. The decorator tags, the metaclass puts the function in the registry: class ExposedMethod (object): def __init__(self, decoratedFunction): self._decoratedFunction = decoratedFunction def __call__(__self,*__args,**__kw): return __self._decoratedFunction(*__args,**__kw) class ExposedMethodDecoratorMetaclass(type): def __new__(mcs, name, bases, dct): for obj_name, obj in dct.iteritems(): if isinstance(obj, ExposedMethod): WorkerFunctionRegistry.addWorkerToWorkerFunction(obj_name, name) return type.__new__(mcs, name, bases, dct) class MyClass (object): __metaclass__ = DiscoveryExposedMethodDecoratorMetaclass @ExposeDiscoveryMethod def myCoolExposedMethod (self): pass I've now came to the point where two function registries are needed. The first thought was to subclass the metaclass and put the other registry in. For that the new method has simply to be rewritten. Since rewriting means redundant code this is not what I really want. So, it would be nice if anyone could name a way how to put an attribute inside of the metaclass which is able to be read when new is executed. With that the right registry could be put in without having to rewrite new. Thanks and Greetings, Michael

  • Is there a calculator with LaTeX-syntax?

    - by Jørgen Fogh
When I write math in LaTeX I often need to perform simple arithmetic on numbers in my LaTeX source, like 515.1544 + 454 = ???. I usually copy-paste the LaTeX code into Google to get the result, but I still have to manually change the syntax, e.g. \frac{154,7}{25} - (289 - \frac{1337}{42}) must be changed to 154,7/25 - (289 - 1337/42) It seems trivial to write a program to do this for the most commonly used operations. Is there a calculator which understand this syntax? EDIT: I know that doing this perfectly is impossible (because of the halting problem). Doing it for the simple cases I need is trivial. \frac, \cdot, \sqrt and a few other tags would do the trick. The program could just return an error for cases it does not understand.

  • Using Timthumb to Resize Images from CKEditor

    - by Edward Coleridge Smith
I am using CKEditor to do basic text and image input into my website. I have noticed that it is quite sporadic in it's method of generating HTML for images when you add them. (Sometimes it might use height and width tags, other times it might use CSS). I use Timthumb for on the fly image resizing on a number of other websites and find it very useful. I use a mod_rewrite rule in my .htaccess file to allow me to create domains like http://localhost/images/800x600/image.jpg and achieve resizing. I would like to somehow incorporate this into CKEditor. I cannot find how to do this looking through the documentation so I have tried post-processing the data produced by CKEditor using Regex, however as mentioned before CKEditor seems to be too sporadic to be able to get this to work all the time. Anyone else done this before? How did you achieve it?

  • Collection of MVC CSS files available?

    - by Jaxidian
Just curious - are there various customized Site.css files (and accompanying images) that work with the default ASP.NET MVC 2 templates? I'm a stereotypical developer who "doesn't do pretty" so I'd like to find a design that is good enough for me to use until I later have a designer come back and fix my design. Are there collections/libraries of various designs out there that work with the default templates? I did find this but the 2 popular ones I tried seem like they're for MVC 1, plus they in no way used the default tags with the MVC 2 templates.

  • Rails - how to use a plugin from github (how to install, utilize, etc)

    - by jyoseph
I'm trying to install a couple of different plugins for my rails 3 app. I cd to '/vendor/plugins/', then type git clone the_git_src_url. I see the files in the /vendor/plugins/ directory. However when I try to use any of the tags provided by the plugin I get uninitialized constant ContentsController::HTMLToTextileParser PriceTag and html2textile are the two plugins I'm trying to use. This is what triggers the error above: <%= PriceTag.html_to_textile(@content.desc) %> I'm working in development, I've tried to restart the server. Is there something I'm missing?

  • A definitive guide to Url Encoding in ASP .NET

    - by cbp
I am starting to realise that there are about a bazillion different methods for encoding urls in .NET. I keep finding new ones. They all work slightly differently, but they all have essentially the same summary comments. Does anyone have a definitive matrix that shows the exact differences between the following methods: HttpUtility.UrlEncode HttpUtility.UrlPathEncode Server.UrlEncode Uri.EscapeUriString Uri.EscapeDataString ... are they any more? Also it would be good to match these up with use-cases e.g.: Urls in href attributes of a tags Urls to be displayed to the user in HTML Urls as querystring values (i.e. to be sent in GET requests) Urls to be sent in POST requests etc

  • Help with PHP recursive navigation list menu

    Hi all, I am trying to add a dynamic recursive navigation list menu to a site of am working on. The scenerio is that the menu has 2 levels related by a parentid(preid). My issue is that I can display the 1st level list correctly, however I cannot get the second level to display properly. I am not sure where to add the UL and /UL tags for the second level. This is what I am after <ul> <li>Item 1</li> <li>item 2</li> <li>item 3</li> <ul> <li>sub item 1</li> <li>sub item 2</li> </ul> <li>Item 4</li> <li>item 5</li> <ul> <li>sub item 1</li> <li>sub item 2</li> </ul> <li>item 6</li> </ul> This is actually what i am getting with the below code: <ul> <li>item 1 <ul> </ul> </li> <li>item 2 <ul> <li>sub item 1</li> <ul> </ul> <li>sub item 2</li> <ul> </ul> </ul> </li> <li>Sports Injuries <ul> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> Below is the class file I am using to create the menu: class Dynamic_Menu { function getConfig() { $this->DB_SERVER = 'localhost'; $this->DB_USER = '***'; $this->DB_PASS = '***'; $this->DB_NAME = '***'; } function __construct() { $this->getConfig(); $Conn = mysql_connect($this->DB_SERVER, $this->DB_USER, $this->DB_PASS); if (!$Conn) die("Error: ".mysql_errno($Conn).":- ".mysql_error($Conn)); $DB_select = mysql_select_db($this->DB_NAME, $Conn); if (!$DB_select) die("Error: ".mysql_errno($Conn).":- ".mysql_error($Conn)); } function select_row($sql) { //echo $sql . I have been banging my head with this for the last 2 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks...

  • PHP extract GPS EXIF data

    - by Kami
    I would like to extract the GPS EXIF tag from pictures using php. I'm using the exif_read_data() that returns a array of all tags + data : GPS.GPSLatitudeRef: N GPS.GPSLatitude:Array ( [0] => 46/1 [1] => 5403/100 [2] => 0/1 ) GPS.GPSLongitudeRef: E GPS.GPSLongitude:Array ( [0] => 7/1 [1] => 880/100 [2] => 0/1 ) GPS.GPSAltitudeRef: GPS.GPSAltitude: 634/1 I don't know how to interpret 46/1 5403/100 and 0/1 ? 46 might be 46° but what about the rest especially 0/1 ? angle/1 5403/100 0/1 What is this structure about ? How to convert them to "standard" ones (like 46°56'48?N 7°26'39?E from wikipedia) ? I would like to pass thoses coordinates to the google maps api to display the pictures positions on a map !

  • How to parse malformed HTML in python, using standard libraries

    - by bukzor
There are so many html and xml libraries built into python, that it's hard to believe there's no support for real-world HTML parsing. I've found plenty of great third-party libraries for this task, but this question is about the python standard library. Requirements: Use only Python standard library components (I'm currently using v2.6) DOM support Handle HTML entities (&nbsp;) Handle partial documents (like: Hello, <iWorld</i!) Bonus points: XPATH support Handle unclosed/malformed tags. (<bigdoes anyone here know <html ???

  • Can JAXB Incrementally Marshall An Object?

    - by Intellectual Tortoise
I've got a fairly simple, but potentially large structure to serialize. Basically the structure of the XML will be: <simple_wrapper> <main_object_type> <sub_objects> </main_object_type> ... main_object_type repeats up to 5,000 times </simple_wrapper> The main_object_type can have a significant amount of data. On my first 3,500 record extract, I had to give the JVM way more memory than it should need. So, I'd like to write out to disk after each (or a bunch of) main_object_type. I know that setting Marshaller.JAXB_FRAGMENT would allow it fragments, but I loose the outer xml document tags and the <simple_wrapper>. Any suggestions?

  • Constructing / destructing QApplication causes QWebView to mess up rendering of HTML

Do we need to do some additional (re-)initializations in QApplication or QWebView?

  • Is Microformat's date-value-pattern fully accessible?

    - by Stephen
Has there been an announcement (outside microformats.org) that the value-class-pattern is fully accessible? e.g. given <abbr class="value" title="2008-06-24">this Tuesday</abbr>, will a screen reader say "24 June 2008" or will it say "2008 dash 6 dash 24"? History Microformats came along, and were great, except that dates etc were stored in abbr tags: <abbr class="dtstart" title="20070312T1700-06"> March 12, 2007 at 5 PM, Central Standard Time </abbr>` This lead to screen readers doing ridiculous things as noted in hAccessibility. Now that microformats.org have released the value-class-pattern it's a lot better. But I'm left unable to find a declaration from WaSP (or another accessibility source not directly tied to microformats) that declaratively states that they are now accessible to screen readers etc.
