• vconfig created virtual interface and trunking - is the the interface untagged or tagged for that VLAN ID?

  I am trying to setup an additional VLAN on our Debian-based router/firewall (which exists as a virtual machine on Hyper-V), our core switch (an HP Procurve 5406) and a remote HP ProCurve 2610 that is connected via a WAN Transparent Lan Service (TLS) link. Let's work backwards from the network edge: The Debian server has an external connection attached to eth0. The internal interface is eth1, which is connected directly from our Hyper-V host to the 5406. The port that eth1 is attached to is setup as Trk12. The 2610 is attached to Trk9 (which trunks a whole slew of VLANs - Trk9 is our TLS head). I can successfully ping the management IP addresses for my VLAN from both switches but I cannot ping, from either switch, the virtual interface for my new VLAN on the Debian-base router and firewall. The existing VLAN works fine. What gives? The port eth1 is attached to is a trunk, the existing VLAN (ID 98) is untagged on the trunk, the new VLAN (ID 198) is tagged. VLAN 198 is tagged on Trk9 on the 5406 and on the 2610. I can ping the other switch's management IP (10.100.198.2 and 10.100.198.3) from the other respective switch. That leg of the VLAN works - however I cannot communicate with eth1.198's 10.100.198.1. I feel like I'm missing something elementary but what it is remains illusive to me. I suspect the issue is with the vconfig created eth1.198. It should pass the tagged VLAN 198 packets correct? But they cannot seem to get any further than the 5406. Communication on the existing VLAN 98 works fine. But today as I came across an article about IOC by Martin Fowler (link), it seems using ApplicationContextAware in Spring is some what similar to the Interface injection. when ever Spring' context reference is required in our Spring bean, we'll implement ApplicationContextAware and will implement the setApplicationContext(ApplicationContext context) method, and we'll include the bean in the config file. Is not this the same as Interface injection, where where telling the Spring to inject (or), say, pass the reference of the context into this bean? Or I m missing something here?   I am writing a C/C++ extension module for other languages and I am using SWIG to generate the bindings. I have two questions Can I include more than 1 header file in the declaration part of the interface file e.g.: /* Declarations exposed to wrapper: */ > %{ > #define SWIG_FILE_WITH_INIT > #include "a.h" > #include "b.h" > #include "c.h" %} In all of the examples I have seen so far, after the header include declaration (as shown above), the functions declared in the header are then declared again in the interface file. Is this really necessary, as it means there are two copies of the function declarations that need to be maintained. Note: I can appreciate that some functions/methods declaration may need to be 'decorated' with the 'newobject' declaration so these obviously need to be in the interface file, to avoid memory leaks - however, I would have though that it would be sufficient to include the headers and then ONLY the declarations of the functions/methods that need to be declared with 'newobject' - is this recommended way of doing things?

• Setup of high-end web server and DB server cluster on Amazon EC2: Is this how it's done?

  Amazon is so technical, I want to confirm that my understanding is correct. We have a large 500 GB database. (OrientDB.) We will have it mirrored to one another in the same Availability Zone. We believe the database size will grow rapidly. The plan is: Get 4 large instances that are compatible types with Placement Groups (as well as ideally, Enhanced Networking) (2 for web, 2 for DB.) We use an EBS-backed instances to store our operating system. Discussion here: http://alestic.com/2012/01/ec2-ebs-boot-recommended We can set up ephemeral SSD instance storage as swap space. (But it is lost after even a reboot. I hear its hard to add ephemeral storage if booting from EBS, but possible.) For offsite backup, we will take periodic snapshots and store them on S3. Obviously we need to ensure the database is in a safe state when that snapshot happens to avoid corruption. (Any hints here, aside from shutting down the DB?) If the database gets too big, we need to create a EBS volume that's larger. • ownCloud WebDAV interface seems to be broken

  I've been trying to host ownCloud on my server but everytime I try to it tells me this : Your web server is not yet properly setup to allow files synchronization because the WebDAV interface seems to be broken. Please double check the installation guides. This is my setup : Windows Server 2012 R2 IIS 8.5 PHP 5.5.11 ownCloud 6.0.3 MySQL 5.6.17 I tried google the error but I can't seem to find anything usefull. Some say I should try if this works : [hostname]/remote.php/webdav/ and yes I can navigate to this folder and I can open files from there. The calendar works and I can also just upload files the web version of ownCloud the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the sync client. • How to hide subfolder when using Web.config for subdomains?

  I have FTP access to my ASP.NET Websapce (IIS 7) and I route subdomains with a Web.config in the web root folder. She looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <configuration> <system.webServer> <rewrite> <rules> <rule name="route www and emtpy requests" stopProcessing="true"> <match url=".*" /> <conditions logicalGrouping="MatchAll" trackAllCaptures="false"> <add input="{HTTP_HOST}" pattern="^(www.)?example.com" /> <add input="{PATH_INFO}" pattern="^/www/" negate="true" /> </conditions> <action type="Rewrite" url="\www\{R:0}" /> </rule> <rule name="route to blog" stopProcessing="true"> <match url=".*" /> <conditions logicalGrouping="MatchAll" trackAllCaptures="false"> <add input="{HTTP_HOST}" pattern="^blog.example.com$" /> <add input="{PATH_INFO}" pattern="^/blog/" negate="true" /> </conditions> <action type="Rewrite" url="\blog\{R:0}" /> </rule> </rules> </rewrite> </system.webServer> </configuration> As you can see i have two folders in my root directory: "www" and "blog". When i now enter "blog.example.com" everythink is working fine, but when i click a link i will go to "blog.example.com/blog" What can I do to prevent this behavior ?

• How to Log Into a Web App Simultaneously with Different Account?

  I want to log into a web application, using at least ten account names at one single point of time ( I am not trying to do anything illegal, so don't worry). AFAIK, each tab in Chrome will share the same session, therefore, for one machine, one can use Google Chrome to log in at most 2 accounts, one in normal mode, another in Incognito mode. Is there anyway I can log into multiple accounts? I know I can open up IE and Firefox ( probably Safari etc) and login, but this is not really scalable as the number of web browsers is finite. Edit: My application is a localhost application; it resides on my computer. So proxy may not be that useful, and you now probably understand why it's nothing illegal. Edit2: CookieSwap seems like a good idea, but the problem is that once I swap the cookie, all the tabs and the FF apps' cookie are swap as well. Can the swapping be done on a tab basis or on application basis, so that on a dual-monitor, I can see the different login side-by-side?
