  • How to detect interrupt handle routine of a device driver?

    - by sasayins
Hi, I'm using Linux platform to program in embedded device. Is there any way that a kernel module can detect the interrupt handler routine of an another device driver module? Like for example, I have a kernel module(.ko), then I want this kernel module detect if a particular device driver execute its interrupt handle routine? Is this possible? Many thanks.

  • What IoC Containers Support Silverlight?

    - by Matt Casto
I'm looking for a list of IoC Containers that support Silverlight. I know that Unity and Ninject work with Silverlight, but I haven't found any information that suggests that other well known containers, like StructureMap, Castle Windsor or Autofac, support Silverlight. Has anyone used these, or other, containers or compared them with the Silverlight platform in mind?

  • How to filter Wordpress posts using a hook in a plugin?

    - by Davide
I'm creating a Wordpress plugin and, being a newbie in the development on this platform, I'm stuck on this problem. I'd like to have posts in the loop filtered by categories, defined by the user through an admin page. I would actually like to be able to modify query_post() parameters in the plugin, but the only trick I found is to re-run the query_post() with my user-defined criteria, thing that I would like to avoid. I'm sure the solution is evident, but can't find it!

Should I write the code within those three modules? Can you guys let me know how to start the windows app universal project?

  • Merging .NET assemblies on Windows Store / Phone 8 / Portable Class Library

    - by Gabriel S.
Is there a way to embed multiple dependent assemblies into a single one for projects written on the following platform types: Windows Store Apps, Windows Phone 8, Portable Class Library? I know that for regular .Net projects there is ILMerge, but on the aforementioned project types it doesn't work. Embedding assemblies as resources and then manually resolving the references using AppDomain.CurrentDomain.AssemblyResolve is not possible either, since AppDomain is not available in these types of project.

  • Basic data alignment question

    - by Broken Logic
    I've been playing around to see how my computer works under the hood. What I'm interested in is seeing is what happens on the stack inside a function. To do this I've written the following toy program: #include <stdio.h> void __cdecl Test1(char a, unsigned long long b, char c) { char c1; unsigned long long b1; char a1; c1 = 'b'; b1 = 4; a1 = 'r'; printf("%d %d - %d - %d %d Total: %d\n", (long)&b1 - (long)&a1, (long)&c1 - (long)&b1, (long)&a - (long)&c1, (long)&b - (long)&a, (long)&c - (long)&b, (long)&c - (long)&a1 ); }; struct TestStruct { char a; unsigned long long b; char c; }; void __cdecl Test2(char a, unsigned long long b, char c) { TestStruct locals; locals.a = 'b'; locals.b = 4; locals.c = 'r'; printf("%d %d - %d - %d %d Total: %d\n", (long)&locals.b - (long)&locals.a, (long)&locals.c - (long)&locals.b, (long)&a - (long)&locals.c, (long)&b - (long)&a, (long)&c - (long)&b, (long)&c - (long)&locals.a ); }; int main() { Test1('f', 0, 'o'); Test2('f', 0, 'o'); return 0; } And this spits out the following: 9 19 - 13 - 4 8 Total: 53 8 8 - 24 - 4 8 Total: 52 The function args are well behaved but as the calling convention is specified, I'd expect this. But the local variables are a bit wonky. My question is, why wouldn't these be the same? The second call seems to produce a more compact and better aligned stack. Looking at the ASM is unenlightening (at least to me), as the variable addresses are still aliased there. So I guess this is really a question about the assembler itself allocates the stack to local variables. I realise that any specific answer is likely to be platform specific. I'm more interested in a general explanation unless this quirk really is platform specific. For the record though, I'm compiling with VS2010 on a 64bit Intel machine.

  • Windowless OpenGL

    - by ext
Hi, I would like to have a windowless OpenGL context (on both GNU/linux with Xorg and Windows). I'm not going to render anything but only call functions like glGetString, glCompileShader and similar. I've done some goggling but not come up with anything useful, except creating a hidden window; which seems like a hack to me. So does anyone have a better idea (for any platform)?

  • PHP detecting filesystem encoding

    - by Evert
Hi guys, I need to save files with non-latin filenames on a filesytem, using PHP. I want to make this work cross-platform. How do I know what encoding I can use to write the file? I understand many modern filesystems are UTF-8 based (is this correct?), but I doubt Windows XP is (for instance). So, is there a robust detection mechanism? Evert

  • block write access to table from an application in mysql

    - by hoberion
Hello, We have a CMS plugin that writes statistics to 1 table, this creates performance issues on the entire platform. We decided to use another statistics plugin which can connect to a different database server (the first plugin couldn't!) however we need parts of the first plugin. I want to lock the statistics table to prevent misusage (not allowed to drop it by the developer) So I was wondering if a lock table could do this or if I can implement some sort of read only table

  • Detecting use after free() on windows.

    - by The Rook
I'm trying to detect "Use after free()" bugs, otherwise known as "Dangling pointers". I know Valgrind can be used to detect "Use after free" bugs on the *nix platform, but what about windows? What if I don't have the source? Is there a better program than Valgrind for detecting all dangling pointers in a program? A free and open source would be preferred , but I'll use a commercial solution if it will get the job done.

  • MvvmCross experiences, hindsight, limitations?

    - by Jason Steele
I am considering using the MvvmCross framework for a cross platform mobile application that will target Android, iPhone and WP7. Does anyone have any experience with this framework they would like to share, and are they aware of any constraints or limitations that it would be useful to be aware of? For example, am I still able to use native page transitions of my choosing? Are there any performance or storage (app size) implications?

I am writing a program in Python, and want to get it to make the OS open the current working directory, making for instance Windows open explorer.exe and navigating to the wanted directory. Any ideas on how to do this? The directory is already given by os.getcwd. Cross platform methods preferred :)

  • Google App Engine for Businesses Source License

    - by jacksonemg
I believe I read that if you wanted to use Google's App Engine, your application needed to be open source. With the recent announcement of App Engine for Business, does the same rule apply? I would like to host an application on this particular platform but have no interest in releasing the code initially (down the road, potentially).
