    - by alex
    .tablePlayButton { display: block; width: 16px; background: transparent; margin-top:2px; margin-right: -10px; margin-left: 2px; height:17px; } tr:hover .tablePlayButton { background: url(ton.png) top left no-repeat; } tr:hover .tablePlayButton:active { background-position: bottom left; } tr:hover .tablePlayButton.playing, .tablePlayButton.playing { background: url(ton2.png) top right no-repeat; } tr:hover .tablePlayButton.playing:active, .tablePlayButton.playing:active { background-position: bottom right; } I draw the span like this: <span class="tablePlayButton"></span> It's got a little button. WHen I click it, nothing happens: $(".tablePlayButton").click(function(){ alert('hi'); });

  • Add an event to HTML elements with a specific class.

    - by Juan C. Rois
    Hello everybody, I'm working on a modal window, and I want to make the function as reusable as possible. Said that, I want to set a few anchor tags with a class equals to "modal", and when a particular anchor tag is clicked, get its Id and pass it to a function that will execute another function based on the Id that was passed. This is what I have so far: // this gets an array with all the elements that have a class equals to "modal" var anchorTrigger = document.getElementsByClassName('modal'); Then I tried to set the addEventListener for each item in the array by doing this: var anchorTotal = anchorTrigger.length; for(var i = 0; i < anchorTotal ; i++){ anchorTrigger.addEventListener('click', fireModal, false); } and then run the last function "fireModal" that will open the modal, like so: function fireModal(){ //some more code here ... } My problem is that in the "for" loop, I get an error saying that anchorTrigger.addEvent ... is not a function. I can tell that the error might be related to the fact that I'm trying to set up the "addEventListener" to an array as oppose to individual elements, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to know user is dragging something when the cursor is not in my window?

    - by Edwin
    Hi folks, We all know you can implement drag-and-drop feature for your Window so that it accepts drag and drop operation, but my question is, how to detect a drag-and-drop operation that's is in progress in other windows, for example, dragging a file in the Windows Explorer? What I want to do is that when a user is dragging a file then my hidden window shows up. Thank you!

  • How do I stop a routed event from triggering on specific places in XAML?

    - by cfouche
    I have the following situation: A stackpanel contains a number of elements, including some that are contained in a GroupBox. So something like this: <StackPanel x:Name="stackpanel" Background="White"> <TextBlock Text="TextBlock"/> <TextBlock Text="Another TextBlock"/> <!--plus a load of other elements and controls--> <GroupBox Header="GroupBoxHeader"> <TextBlock Text="Text inside GroupBox"/> </GroupBox> </StackPanel> I want a MouseDown in the stackpanel to trigger some Storyboard, so I've added an EventTrigger, like this: <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="Mouse.MouseDown" SourceName="stackpanel"> <BeginStoryboard Storyboard="{StaticResource OnMouseDown1}"/> </EventTrigger> This is almost right, but the thing is - I don't want the MouseDown to be picked up by the GroupBox's header or border, only by its content. In other words, I want the Storyboard to begin when someone does a mousedown on anything inside the StackPanel, except GroupBox headers and borders. Is there some way of doing this? (I've tried setting e.Handled to true on the GroupBox, but then its content doesn't pick up the mousedown anymore either.)

  • Javascript onclick event is not working in internet explorer 8.

    - by Mallika Iyer
    Hi, I have the following line of code that works fine in Firefox, Chrome and Safari, but not in internet explorer 8. <a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="showHide('reading','type_r','r');">Show me the example</a> The function simply shows and hides a div on clicking the hyperlink. Is there anything I'm missing here? This is the showHide function: function showHide(elementId,parentId,qtype) { if (document.getElementById && !document.all) { var elementParent = document.getElementById(parentId); var element = document.getElementById(elementId); var upArrowId = 'up-arrow-'+qtype; var downArrowId = 'down-arrow-'+qtype; if(element.style.visibility == 'hidden'){ elementParent.style.height = 'auto'; element.style.visibility = 'visible'; document.getElementById(upArrowId).style.visibility = 'visible'; document.getElementById(downArrowId).style.visibility = 'hidden'; } else if(element.style.visibility == 'visible'){ element.style.visibility = 'hidden'; elementParent.style.height = '50px'; document.getElementById(upArrowId).style.visibility = 'hidden'; document.getElementById(downArrowId).style.visibility = 'visible'; } } } Thanks.

  • Grid sorting with persistent master sort

    - by MikeWyatt
    I have a UI with a grid. Each record in the grid is sorted by a "master" sort column, let's call it a page number. Each record is a story in a magazine. I want the user to be able to drag and drop a record to a new position in the grid and automatically update the page number field to reflect the updated position. Easy enough, right? Now imagine that I also want to have the grid sortable by any other column (story title, section, author name, etc.). How does the drag and drop operation work now? Revert to page number sort during or after the drag and drop operation? This could confuse the user (why did my sort just change?). It would also result in arbitrary row positioning. Would the story now be before the row that was after it when the user dropped it? Or, would it be after the row that was before it? Those rows may now be widely separated after the master order sort. Disable the drag and drop feature if the grid isn't currently sorted by the page number? This would be easy, but the user might wonder why he can't drag and drop at certain times. Knowing to first sort by page number may not be very intuitive. Let the user rearrange his rows, but not make any changes to the page number? Require the user to enter a "Arrange Stories" mode, in which the grid sort is temporarily switched to page number and drag and drop is enabled? They would then exit the mode, and the previous sort would be reapplied. The big difference between this and the second option is that it would be more explicit than simply clicking on a column header. Any other ideas, or reasons why one of the above is the way to go? EDIT I'd like to point out that any of the above is technically possible, and easy to implement. My question is design-related. What is the most intuitive way to solve this problem, from the user's perspective?

  • Is it possible for the View to subscribe ViewModel CLR event?

    - by Vincent Leung
    Sometimes a view model needs to raise notifications, that a view should handle and do something in response, esp. when these can't be modeled as properties and property change notifications. Anything in MVVM Light that can allow the view to listen to events and translate view model notifications into user interface actions via declarative Xaml markup?

  • Can I use AppDomain.AssemblyResolve Event to redirect a failed Assembly Load?

    - by esac
    By default, my application references a mixed mode DLL, so this DLL is both 32 and 64 bit. On a 32 bit system, my app is MSIL and loads the 32 bit DLL. On a 64 bit system, my app loads the 64 bit. However on a 64 bit system, in an older version of the assembly that I am referencing, they only created a 32 bit version. So I fail to load this. I was looking at doing it dynamically, and ideally I would want my MSIL app in 64 bit mode to load the 32 bit DLL. Is this possible? Also it would be nice to resolve it to a different version than what I have referenced as well. Any help appreciated.

  • Correct way to close database connection in event of exception.

    - by lowlyintern
    /I have some code of of the following form. Does this mean the connection is left open if there is an exception? Note, I am using a Microsoft SQL compact edition database./ try { SqlCeConnection conn = new SqlCeConnection(ConnectionString); conn.Open(); using (SqlCeCommand cmd = new SqlCeCommand("SELECT stuff FROM SomeTable", conn)) { // do some stuff } conn.Close(); } catch (Exception ex) { ExceptionManager.HandleException(ex); } /*Surely a better way would be to declare a connection object before the try, establish a connection inside the try block and close it in a finally block? */ SqlCeConnection conn = null; try { conn = new SqlCeConnection(ConnectionString); conn.Open(); using (SqlCeCommand cmd = new SqlCeCommand("SELECT stuff FROM SomeTable", conn)) { // do some stuff } } catch (Exception ex) { ExceptionManager.HandleException(ex); } finally { if( conn != null ) conn.Close(); }

  • How can I disable mouse click event system wide using C#?

    - by mazzzzz
    Hey guys, I have a laptop with a very sensitive touch pad, and wanted to code a small program that could block the mouse input when I was typing a paper or something. I didn't think it would be hard to do, considering everything I've seen on low-level hooks, but I was wrong (astounding, right?). I looked at a few examples, but the examples I've seen either block both keyboard and mouse, or just hide the mouse. Any help with this would be great.

  • query structure - ignoring entries for the same event from multiple users?

    - by Andrew Heath
    One table in my MySQL database tracks game plays. It has the following structure: SCENARIO_VICTORIES [ID] [scenario_id] [game] [timestamp] [user_id] [winning_side] [play_date] ID is the autoincremented primary key. timestamp records the moment of submission for the record. winning_side has one of three possible values: 1, 2, or 0 (meaning a draw) One of the queries done on this table calculates the victory percentage for each scenario, when that scenario's page is viewed. The output is expressed as: Side 1 win % Side 2 win % Draw % and queried with: SELECT winning_side, COUNT(scenario_id) FROM scenario_victories WHERE scenario_id='$scenID' GROUP BY winning_side ORDER BY winning_side ASC and then processed into the percentages and such. Sorry for the long setup. My problem is this: several of my users play each other, and record their mutual results. So these battles are being doubly represented in the victory percentages and result counts. Though this happens infrequently, the userbase isn't large and the double entries do have a noticeable effect on the data. Given the table and query above - does anyone have any suggestions for how I can "collapse" records that have the same play_date & game & scenario_id & winning_side so that they're only counted once?

  • Is there a JavaScript event that fires when a tab index switch is triggered? (TABINDEX does not work for inputs in IFRAME)

    - by treeface
    My specific use case is that I have a WYSIWYG editor which is basically an editable iframe. To the user, however, it looks like a standard-issue textarea. My problem is that I have inputs that sit before and after this editor in the (perceived) tab index and I'd like the user to be able to press tab (or the equivalent on his platform of choice) to get to the WYSIWYG editor when he's in the previous element and shift-tab to get to it when he's in the latter element. I know this can be faked using the key events and checking whether or not the tab key was pressed, but I'm curious if there's a better way. UPDATE. treeface clarified the actual problem in the comments. PROBLEM: In normal case, you can use "TABINDEX" attribute of the <input> element to control that, when tabbing out of "Subject" input field (in an email form), the focus lands on "Body" input field in the e-mail. This is done simply by assigning correctly ordered values to "TABINDEX" attribute of both input fields. The problem is that TABINDEX attribute only orders elements within the same frame. So, if "Body" input field is actually in an internal IFRAME, you can't tab out of "Subject" in the parent frame straight into "Body" in the IFRAME using TABINDEX order.

  • iPad doesn't trigger resize event going from vertical to horizontal?

    - by dclowd9901
    Has anyone noticed this behavior? I'm trying to write a script that will trigger upon a resize. It works fine on normal browsers, works fine on iPhone, but on iPad, will only trigger going from horizontal to vertical viewport, not vice versa. Here's the code: $(window).resize( function() { var agent=navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase(); var is_iphone = ((agent.indexOf('iphone') != -1)); var is_ipad = ((agent.indexOf('ipad') != -1)); if(is_iphone || is_ipad){ location.reload(true); } else { /* Do stuff. */ }; });

  • Silverlight avoid lose focus on datagrid

    - by lidermin
    Hi, I have a question: How could I keep the focus on a combobox of a cell inside a datagrid in edit mode; even when I drag a textbox inside a scroll viewer to drag & drop. This is the behaviour I need: The user start to edit a cell by double clicking, and a combobox is showed, then the user could drag and drop some text (one of the texboxes inside the scroll viewer) to the combobox I mentioned. The issue is: when I click on one those textboxes to drag & drop, I lose the focus of the datagrid, and I can't drop it to the cell (the combobox), because I lose the edit mode (it's not a combobox anymore, the datagrid is on query mode). How can I achieve the behaviour I need? Please help. Thanks.

  • jQuery Click event on object added with JavaScript not working.

    - by Hultner
    I'm work on a quiz for school but I've bumped into a problem. I got a javascript file for custom radio buttons (CUSTOM FORM ELEMNTS by Ryan Fait if it's helping). The script hides the input buttons and adds custom styled spans instead. Now what I want, when I click one of these JavaScript added spans I want to remove disabled for a button called "Next Question" which when pressed takes you to the next question. The reason for this is that I don't want people to accidently got to the next question without choosing a answer. The problem is when I press the added spans nothing happens but when I press another identical span which I have added in the html it works just as intended. The span got the class radio which is the class I'm looking for in the jQuery. Here's the test page with the error on: http://hultner.se/graphicsquiz/livetest/livetest.php Short: Can't get jQuery .click() functions to work with spans added using JavaScript earlier in the document.

  • Which program is locking all my executable files?

    - by Tom Wijsman
    When updating any software product, as well as manually trying to replace .exe files, it says that access is denied to the file and in fact the System process is holding a handle to the file when I check it with Process Explorer. This must be a driver or something that is malfunctioning was my first though, but now I wonder how I figure out which driver / program is doing this and why it is so. Unlocker doesn't seem to be working for me, unless someone can tell me how to use it properly other than making it appear a magical wand in the notification area.... This is what Unlocker puts in my event log: The description for Event ID 1060 from source Application Popup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: \??\C:\Program Files (x86)\Unlocker\UnlockerDriver5.sys the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table Upon searching event 1060 I get: <file name> has been blocked from loading due to incompatibility with this system. Perhaps it is because I have 64 bit?

  • jQuery click event not working when mouse moves from one div to another with button held down

    - by Acorn
    I've made a page that uses jQuery to allow you to place <div>s on the page based on your mouse coordinates when you click. The page And here's the javascript: $('document').ready(function() { $("#canvas").click(function(e){ var x = e.pageX - this.offsetLeft; var y = e.pageY - this.offsetTop; $(document.createElement('div')).css({'left':x + 'px', 'top':y + 'px'}).addClass('tile').appendTo('#canvas'); }); }); I've found that if you mousedown in the div#canvas and mouseup with your pointer over a placed <div> (or vice versa) then a new <div> doesn't get placed. Why is this?
