    Hi all, simple question regarding property value inheritance in UserControls. If i create a UserControl, it has some standard properties like Background, BorderBrush and BorderThickness. Within that UserControl i have a border. I want to know, if i dont specify any set value or binding for the property BorderBrush of that border, will it automatically inherit the value of BorderBrush from the parent control? Thanks!

    Say I have the following script: u = -5:.2:5; [X,Y] = meshgrid(u, u); Z = cos(X).*cos(Y).*exp(-sqrt(X.^2 + Y.^2)/4); surf(X,Y,Z); Is there anyway that I can make MatLab plot only parts of the surface? Say, for instance, I just want to plot a single point, or a single grid, what can I do? I thought perhaps to plot a single point I could use: surf(X(1,1), Y(1,1), Z(1,1)) But then I get the error message: ??? Error using ==> surf at 78 Data dimensions must agree. I would really appreciate some input/help here. Thanks in advance :)

  • Trying to instantiate a class member in C++ with a variable name

    Hello. I am writing a program for class that is asking us to create a class of "book". We are then supposed to create new instantiations of that class upon demand from the user. I am new to C++ so I am attempting to code this out but am running into a problem. The main problem is how do I instantiate a class with a variable if I don't know how many I will have to do ahead of time. The user could ask to add 1 book or 1000. I am looking at this basic code: This is the simple code I started with. I wanted to have an index int keep a number and have the book class I create be called by that int (0, 1, 2, etc...) So I attempted to convert the incoming index int into a string, but I'm kind of stuck from here. void addBook(int index){ string bookName; std::stringstream ss; ss << index; book bookName; cout << "Enter the Books Title: "; cin >> bookName.title; } But obviously this doesn't work as "bookName" is a string to the computer and not the class member I tried to create. All of the tutorials I have seen online and in my text show the classes being instantiated with names in the code, but I just don't know how to make it variable so I can create any amount of "books" that the user might want. Any insight on this would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    Is postresql capable of doing a full text search, based on 'half' a word? For example i'm trying to seach foor tree, but i tell postgres to search for 'tr'. I can't find such a solution that is capable of doing this. Currently i'm using this select * from test, to_tsquery('tree') as q where vectors @@ q ; But i like to do something like this: select * from test, to_tsquery('tr%') as q where vectors @@ q ;

    Let's assume the following: I have an IIS web site set up IIS is configured to use Digest authentication I'm running an ASP.NET page The page has a code-behing assembly that overrides Page_Load When a user navigates to that page, I get a security prompt for the username and password. If the username and password are invalid (i.e. incorrect password) is there a way for the called page, in Page_Load to know, or does IIS handle this and return the 401 before the ASP.NET engine ever gets around to resolving the actual Page class that will get executed?

  • How can i get the selected option name or id of a select element using jQuery

    Hi All, i have a "questionairre" that is made up of a series of select boxes. i need to use two properties in the options. For each selected option i need the value (which i know how to get and is working fine) but i also need to store an additional value which represents the id of the specific option in a DB. One solution would be to put the two values in the "value" property and parse it out.. but if there is some other property i can use that might be easier and clearer.. can i add a custom property?? like databaseId that could be accessed with jQuery? thanks for ANY suggestions.

    Let's say I have the following headers: @interface SuperClass : NSObject @interface SubClass : SuperClass I'm alloc'ing an instance of the class by doing: SubClass *sc = [[SubClass alloc] init]; In my SuperClass.m: - (id) init { self = [super init]; if (self != nil) { NSString *cString = NSStringFromClass([self class]); } return self; } Simple, right? My question is: how can I get cString to return the SuperClass class, rather than the SubClass class? Since the SubClass is alloc'd/init'd, is this not possible? Thanks!

    Hi, I'm using godaddy shared hosting, with IIS7, Integrated mode, and published up a bog standard MVC2 app to dev.lazygekko.com created with Visual Web Developer 2010. It all works, however when any of the links are clicked, they point to dev.lazygekko.com/dev/..., dev being the folder it is pointing at. Can anyone shed some light on what I may be doing wrong?     I am currently trying to display the username of people who i am following, the problem is that during the following process, only the ID of me and the person i'm following is stored. I've got it to the point where the ID's are displayed but i'd like to show the names hyperlinked. $p_id is the profile ID. Here's what I've got: $following = mysql_query("SELECT `follower`, `followed` FROM user_follow WHERE follower=$p_id"); I am following: <?php while($apple = mysql_fetch_array($following)){ echo '<a href="'.$apple['followed'].'">+'.$apple['followed'].'</a> '; }?> The usernames are in a different table "users" under the field "username" - I need them to match up with the ID's that are currently displayed, and be displayed.   • Two part form in Rails

    I have some two nested resources, so that a Product can have many Bookings. On one page in a different controller I want to create a new booking and since it's a "general" booking I want a select menu to appear in a modal window where the user is able to pick one of the existing products and then go to the booking page. How can I do this? I have no problem setting up the modal and the "New booking" page is already there. What I need is a form that generates a list of existing products, picks the selected product id and then gets /products/:product_id/bookings/new . Any help appreciated! I realize my title does not describe my problem very good so better suggestions are highly welcome!

  • One application instance for two domain name

    Hello, I have two web applications in ASP.NET which are quite the same (same business logic, same DAL, same DB scheme but different instance). The only thing that I need to change is the design (logo, color,...) and the text (global and local resource) to adress two separate business sector. We cannot "subdomain" the application because we need the two app "seems to be" independant. Is it a good idea to run only one instance for the 2 web applications. For example : I will have 2 hostnames : mycompagny.com and mycompagny2.com and I will put an HTTP Module which will set a string which will be propagated in my application like 'company' and 'company2'. I will instanciate the dal only once but the connection string will change depending on the string 'company' or 'company2'. Any pros and cons ? Any other alternatives ?

I guess this is a general design patterns question, but I'll base my example on a game engine or something that renders objects to the display. Consider the following: How can this sort of separation between physical objects (e.g., cubes, spheres, etc.) and the rendering mechanism be achieved in an extensible manner? This design is not set in stone, and perhaps I've got something wrong from the start. I'm just curious as to how a problem like this is solved in real world code.

    Idealy I would like to have the following: <form1 ...> ... <form2 ...> //This form uploads a file using AJAX and writes the content into a text field below. </form2> <input type="text"/> </form1> Firefox handles this but IE likes to follow the rules of W3C this time and it doesn't really work.     Hi ive got a log file containing trace routes and pings. Ive seperated these by using if(scanner.nextLine().startsWith("64 bytes"){} so i can work with just the pings for now. All im interested in from the ping is time=XX example data line = 64 bytes from ziva.zarnet.ac.zw (209.88.89.132): icmp_seq=119 ttl=46 time=199 ms I have been reading other peoples similar questions and im not sure how to apply to mine. I literally need just the number as i will be putting them into a csv file so i can make a graph of the data.
