  • How to implement Gradient Opacity (Mask) using html css javascript

    - by brz dot net
I have to show 25% right screen in such way that the text looks appeared from right. For this I need to set opacity from 0 to 100 at 25% right side screen means rightmost opacity would be 0 and at 75% the opacity would be 100. For this, I took a Div and set opacity but It looks bad because of border. I need to gray out text. It looks a block. Let me know how I can implement cross browser compatible gradient opacity mask for right screen text. What is the best way to do this?

  • Regular expression to match HTML table row ( <tr> ) NOT containing a specific value

    - by user1821136
I'm using Notepad++ to clean up a long and messy HTML table. I'm trying to use regular expressions even if I'm a total noob. :) I need to remove all the table rows that doesn't contain a specific value (may I call that substring?). After having all the file contents unwrapped, I've been able to use the following regular expression to select, one by one, every table row with all its contents: <tr>.+?</tr> How can I improve the regular expression in order to select and replace only table rows containing, somewhere inside a part of them, that defined substring? I don't know if this does matter but the structure of every table row is the following (I've put there every HTML tag, the dots stand for standard content/values) <tr> <td> ... </td> <td> ... </td> <td> <a sfref="..." href="...">!! SUBSTRING I HAVE TO MATCH HERE !!</a> </td> <td> <img /> </td> <td> ... </td> <td> ... </td> <td> ... </td> <td> ... </td> </tr> Thanks in advance for your help!

  • CSS: Why won't this box get wider?

    - by Jason
I just need a sanity check here... DEMO Basically, I can't figure out how to get the box under the link to get wider as more content is added. It seems fixed to the width of the parent div (or the width of, say, the longest element like the select or a really long word with no spaces), despite being absolutely positioned. I use this trick all the time with ul and li but it doesn't make sense to use that in my situation, and for some crazy reason it just won't work with a div inside a div. I don't want to set a width (which, of course, works) because I don't always know what will be in this box. GRR Thanks :\

This is how it looks in IE7: http://screencast.com/t/MGY4NjljZjc This is how it look in IE8,Firefox,Chrome and so on http://screencast.com/t/MzhhMDQ1M What I'm doing wrong PS: .navigation-top a span and .navigation-bottom a span I'm using some where else, but that it's ok it works fine.

  • Performance, serve all CSS at once, or as its needed?

    - by yaya3
As far as I know, these days there are two main techniques used for including CSS in a website. A) Provide all the CSS used by the website in one (compressed) file B) Provide the CSS for required by the elements on the page that is currently being viewed only Positives for A: The entire CSS used on the site is cached on first visit via 1 http request Negatives for A: if it's a big file, it will take a long time to load initially Positives for B: Faster initial load time Negatives for B: More HTTP requests, more files to cache Is there anything (fundamental) that I am missing here?

  • CSS div positioning assistance

    - by bikey77
I need some help with the positioning of divs that appear on each #box's hover event. The hidden divs should appear over the box that was hovered in a way that: Each #tooltip div covers the box that was hovered plus the box next to it The tooltips of boxes 1 & 2 should cover the boxes to the right #tooltips for box 3 & 4 should cover the boxes to their left (to make it more understandable, please see the attached image There will be several rows of boxes so positioning should be relative and not fixed to the page dimensions (i suppose) So far I haven't managed to get the #tooltip positionings right (I know that one should be absolute and the other relative but no matter my efforts, I haven't nailed it yet). Here's a jsfiddle to work on and this is the result i'm after:

  • Container div ignores height of floated elements

    - by Thomas
Ok, so this seems like a really silly problem but I can't get my container div to inherit the height of the floated elements inside of it. Since I need to center the container div, I can't use float to fix this problem. Here is my css: #container { margin: 0 auto; width: 1000px; border-left: 1px solid #f1f1f1; border-right: 1px solid #f1f1f1; border-bottom: 1px solid #f1f1f1; } #focus { padding-left: 23px; width: 977px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 23px; border-bottom: 1px solid #f1f1f1; float: left; } .rslider { float: left; width: 600px; margin-left: 15px; } .welcome { float: left; width: 300px; } Html: <div id="container"> <div id="logo_block"> <a href="#"><img src="img/logo.jpg" alt="" /></a> </div> <div id="focus"> <div class="welcome"> <h1>All About This Page</h1> <p>Donec quam felis, ultricies nec, pellentesque eu, pretium quis, sem. Nulla consequat massa quis enim. Donec pede justo, fringilla vel, liquet nec, vulputate eget, arcu. In enim justo, rhoncus ut, imperdiet a, venenatis vitae, justo. Nullam dictum felis eu pede mollis pretium.</p> </div> <div class="rslider"> <img src="img/slider_image.jpg"> </div> </div> </div> Any ideas?

  • css - 2 child containers not sitting alongside each other

    - by eyeballpaul
I have a parent container, that has child containers within it. 2 child containers take up 60% width and 40% width respectively. They have no margin, and they have padding, but use box-sizing so this is included in the width. But for some reason they don't sit side by side. If I change one of them to 39% width then it looks fine. What am I doing wrong? Example can be seen at http://jsfiddle.net/Rcaet/

  • Which technology should I use to transform my latex documents into html documents

    - by Matthias Günther
Hey, I want to write a little program that transforms my TeX files into HTML. I want to parse the documents and turn the macros (the build-in and of course my own) into HTML pieces. Here are my requirements: predefined rules (e.g. begin{itemize} \item text \end{itemize} = <br> <p>text </p> <br/>) defining own CSS style ability to convert formulars (extract the formulars, load them in an imagecreator and then save the jpg/png) easy to maintain and concise I know there are several technologies out there, but I don't exactly know which is the best for me. Here are the technologies which flow into my mind Ruby (I/O is easy, formular loading via webrat), XML XSLT (I don't think that I need just overhead) perl (there are many libs out there but I'm not quite familiar with it) bash (I worked with sed and was surprised how easy it was to work with regular expressions) latex2html ... (these converters won't work for me and they don't give me freedom in parsing) Any suggestions, hints and comments are welcome. Thanks for your time, folks.

  • Equivalant of this gradient code in ie css filter

    - by Wiika
Hi All, i need an equivalent or an alternative for this code in internet explorer using the filter method background: -moz-linear-gradient(center bottom , rgb(132, 133, 132) 0%, rgb(35, 35, 35) 49%, rgb(104, 104, 104) 100%) repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent; the most important thing in the code is the points ( 0% - 49% - 100% ) i believe that the filter method doesn't have points and doesn't accpect more than two parms for the colors , Is there a way to do it in filter or a javascript script for that ? Thanks.
