  • No Matching Function Error for inserting into a list in c++

    - by Josh Curren
    I am getting an error when I try to insert an item into a list (in C++). The error is that there is no matching function for call to the insert(). I also tried push_front() but got the same error. Here is the error message: main.cpp:38: error: no matching function for call to ‘std::list<Salesperson, std::allocator<Salesperson> >::insert(Salesperson&)’ /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/4.3.4/include/c++/bits/list.tcc:99: note: candidates are: std::_List_iterator<_Tp> std::list<_Tp, _Alloc>::insert(std::_List_iterator<_Tp>, const _Tp&) [with _Tp = Salesperson, _Alloc = std::allocator<Salesperson>] /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-cygwin/4.3.4/include/c++/bits/stl_list.h:961: note: void std::list<_Tp, _Alloc>::insert(std::_List_iterator<_Tp>, size_t, const _Tp&) [with _Tp = Salesperson, _Alloc = std::allocator<Salesperson>] Here is the code: #include <stdlib.h> #include <iostream> #include <fstream> #include <string> #include <list> #include "Salesperson.h" #include "Salesperson.cpp" #include "OrderedList.h" #include "OrderedList.cpp" using namespace std; int main(int argc, char** argv) { cout << "\n------------ Asn 8 - Sales Report ------------" << endl; list<Salesperson> s; int id; string fName, lName; int numOfSales; string year; std::ifstream input("Sales.txt"); while( !std::getline(input, year, ',').eof() ) { input >> id; input >> lName; input >> fName; input >> numOfSales; Salesperson sp = Salesperson( id, fName, lName ); s.insert( sp ); //THIS IS LINE 38 ************************** for( int i = 0; i < numOfSales; i++ ) { double sale; input >> sale; sp.sales.insert( sale ); } } cout << endl; return (EXIT_SUCCESS); }

  • Unable to drop constraint in sql server 2005 "Could not drop constraint. See previous errors"

    - by DannykPowell
I'm trying to drop a constraint on a db table, something like: ALTER TABLE MyTable drop CONSTRAINT FK_MyTable_AnotherTable But the execution just runs and runs. If I stop it I see: Msg 3727, Level 16, State 0, Line 2 Could not drop constraint. See previous errors. Web search throws up various pages but note that the constraint is properly named and I am trying to remove it using the correct name

  • check if a line is valid or not in Java

    - by Adnan
I would like to perform checking on the following: VALID LINES; /**/ some code */ some code /** dsfsdkf sd**/ NOT VALID LINES; /**/ //some code */ /***/ //somecode So basically if there is a line of code outside a comment it is valid, otherwise not. What would be the best way to tackle this kind of validation? Note: For */ I assume that the /* has been opened some lines before.

  • pdf <pre> equivalent

    - by ddowns
I'm trying to put some code examples in a pdf, but copying them out messes up the formatting and rearranges the lines, there's a lot of manual cleanup needed after pasting. Is there a equivalent to html's pre for PDFs? For "this" block of text respect line breaks, spacing, and copy as plain text like its shown. The closest thing I can see is adding note annotations next to every code example.

  • Core Animation Unwanted Text Sharpening.

    - by dave-gennel
Whenever I add a layer for Core Animation either from the nib or programatically, the NSTextFields (labels) in my interface get messed up. Here's a screenshot from Apple's BasicCocoaAnimations example. (Look at the text fields on the left, somehow they're drawn sharper than normal) Note that if I add a layer in IB then it also gets messed up in IB itself before I even run my app.

  • How can I make a GUI frontend to a command line tool in OSX?

    - by bfred.it
I'm dying to know how I can make a GUI for ffmpeg and jhead in OSX. I've been looking for a solution for a while and thought you, stackoverflow's users, could help me. Maybe you know some document I haven't come across of or, better, a tutorial to make a GUI. I love those two tools but I like the simplicity of drag/drop operations. Note: I don't need a GUI for them, I want to make one.

  • Getting duplicate count when executing INSERT IGNORE via JDBC

    - by Nickolay Komar
Is it possible to get the duplicate count when executing MySQL "INSERT IGNORE" statement via JDBC? For example, when I execute an INSERT IGNORE statement on the mysql command line, and there are duplicates I get something like Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.02 sec) Records: 1 Duplicates: 1 Warnings: 0 Note where it says "Duplicates: 1", indicating that there were duplicates that were ignored. Is it possible to get the same information when executing the query via JDBC? Thanks.

  • Getting n-th line of text output

    - by syker
I have a script that generates two lines as output each time. I'm really just interested in the second line. Moreover I'm only interested in the text that appears between a pair of #'s on the second line. Additionally, between the hashes, another delimiter is used: ^A. It would be great if I can also break apart each part of text that is ^A-delimited (Note that ^A is SOH special character and can be typed by using Ctrl-A)

  • Batch closes prematurely on a for /f command

    - by VonC
I have a batch file (in windows XP, with command extension activated) with the following line: for /f %%s in ('type version.txt') do set VERSION=%%s On some computer, it works just fine (as illustrated by this SO question), but on other it kills cmd (the console window just closes) Why ? Note: the computers seem to have a similar configuration: XpSP2, the user has administrative right, no 'Command processor" defined in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor...

  • SQL: Is there a more efficient way to calculate elapsed hours, minutes, seconds?

    - by hamlin11
I'm using Computed Columns to provide me with the following information: Hours, Minutes, and Seconds between a Start DateTime and Finish DateTime (Where Minutes and Seconds are between 0 and 59 and Hours can be any value 0 or greater) Computed Column for Seconds: datediff(second,[Start],[Finish]) % 60 Computed Column for Minutes: floor(datediff(second,[Start],[Finish]) / 60.0) % 60 Computed Column for Hours: floor(datediff(second,[Start],[Finish]) / 3600.0) Here's the table for reference Note: I'm also calculating TotalElapsedSeconds, TotalElapsedMinutes, and TotalElapsedHours in other computed columns, but those are easy. I just feel like I might be missing out on a nice built in function in SQL.

  • How do I sync iPad Notes without Mail?

    - by Michael
The default Notes app on the iPad is fine for my note taking needs. I see how it syncs through iTunes to Mail, but if one doesn't use Mail for e-mail management, is there any other way to sync and view the iPad notes on the desktop? (We use Eudora for mail management, and Apple's Mail is not great if all you want to do is view your notes with it.)

  • How can I run an external program from C and parse its output?

    - by Josh Matthews
I've got a utility that outputs a list of files required by a game. How can I run that utility within a C program and grab its output so I can act on it within the same program? UPDATE: Good call on the lack of information. The utility spits out a series of strings, and this is supposed to be complete portable across Mac/Windows/Linux. Please note, I'm looking for a programmatic way to execute the utility and retain its output (which goes to stdout).
