  • Cross browser issues with IE

    Im really annoyed with Internet Explorer.I designed a site using css. The really annoying part is the cross browser issues.. The site works fine in all versions of FireFox and Chrome but when it comes to internet explorer. IE5 - The complete site is messed up with the alignments IE6 - Major Alignment problems. IE7 and 8 Works pretty good. Can someone please suggest some good methods to get rid of the cross browser issues with IE??

  • Some websites are not opening in any web browser (firefox/chrome). What should I do? [closed]

    Some websites are not opening in my system. I am using Ubuntu 12.10. Earlier, when I was using Ubuntu 10.10,11.10 there was no such issue. The problem was started in ubuntu 12.04, but it remained the same even after formatting and installing ubuntu 12.10. I have tried Firefox as well as Chromium and I am sure the issue is not with the browser. same websites are opening perfectly with Windows. Google, Twitter and Ubuntu related websites are running perfect. Other websites like www.downrightnow.com, easy-mantra.com, facebook.com, sourceforge.net are not opening. Installed dual boot with win xp. Ubuntu 12.10 is 64 bit. We have used JQuery for every kind of situation like slide shows, menus, etc. This site contains a lot of images which are large in size. because of this when viewed in a mobile phone user has to scroll a lot. How can we recognize whether the client (browser) trying to access our site is a mobile phone or a standard PC. Is there any standard way to build site for such situations? TIA

    Applications which run on mobile devices have special user interface requirements. I think Apple did a great job introducing innovative controls on the iPhone/iPod touch platform. Now, I have to design an application for the Windows Mobile platform using the .NET Compact Framework (Visual Studio 2008). I wonder if there are some commercial or open source UI control sets available which are similar to the iPhone / iPod touch UI elements: Scrolling panels based on gestures Instead of a dropdownlist: a new panel with a large list of items Sliding panels etc. I couldn't find any useful products/code. Maybe there is somebody out there with more experience who could help.

  • Issue connecting to SQL Compact Edition on Windows Mobile 6 Emulator

    I am developing an application for Windows Mobile 6 using an emulator. When I try to open the database connection to the SDF file it is throwing an exception that it is not able to connect or find the file. My questions are: Where on the mobile device is the SDF file supposed to be deployed? Does the SDF file get automatically deployed to the emulator when I build the project (like in then windows forms app) or do I have to do that manually? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Opera Browser: prevent mousewheel scrolling?

    I just build a website that works good on any browser even ipad but in Oper ai noticed a weird thing: the website is built with a div layer on top zindez:999, body is overflow:hidden, and you cant scroll, but underneath the div there is a long text that goes way underneath the viewport... the strage thing is that even if any browser i wasable to keep this effect in Oepra if I use the mousewheel you can kepp scrolling...! ...argh.. do you any hack/solution for this?

    What strategies can be used to read every row in a large Oracle table, only once, but as fast as possible with JDBC & Java ? Consider that each row has non-trivial amounts of data (30 columns, including large text in some columns). Some strategies I can think of are: Single thread and read table. (Too slow, but listed for clarity) Read the id's into ConcurrentLinkedQueue, use threads to consume queue and query by id in batches. Read id's into a JMS queue, use workers to consume queue and query by id in batches. What other strategies could be used ? For the purpose of this question assume processing of rows to be free.

These mistakes would get caught at the server side. Also bearing in mind that the bandwidth availability is a lesser concern I feel we should avoid browser side validations.     Hello, Many modern mobile phones (google nexus one etc.) have some kind of built in location service. when i go to a some website (eg. google.com) that website asks if I'm willing to share my location with that site. How do you actually ask for mobile device to give out it's location to the site? And in what format is that location given? I've got no clue and didn't find any answers from google, neither.
