  • Testing site performance with multiple browsers and versions

    - by jasongullickson
We're trying to document the performance difference of our site using different browsers. We use LoadRunner for load testing but I don't see a way to specify the "browser engine" it uses to run it's tests (perhaps it's using it's own?). In any event I'm not sure that LoadRunner is the right tool for this job but we own it so if we can use it, great. If not, is there another tool out there that I can use to record a script and run it automatically against a site using several different browsers?

  • How do etherpad & Google Docs do ChangeSets

    - by nobosh
I'm curious to learn how Etherpad and Google Docs automatically save data. When you're writing a text document the products send only the changes to the server. Any idea how this technology works and where I can go to learn more about the end-2-end? Thanks

  • wxPython and localisation

    - by terabytest
I'd like to write a wxPython application that would run in different languages, updating itself automatically (with no need to close it and open it back) whenever I change the language. Is it possible to make a system that recognises and edits every widget that needs to be updated?

  • Redis - Records Fall Off

    - by Ian
With memcache, when you exceed the available ram, it automatically drops the oldest records off the end of the stack.. Is there a way to do this with redis? I'm trying to find ways to avoid running in to a write error (when there's no more available ram), other than setting a timeout. The only reason the timeout isn't useful, it because it doesn't guaranty the ability to write.

how to implement a counter in label which decrements every time page is loaded in asp.net(vb)? It would be better if that counter value is accessed from and updated into database.. I've tried this on buttonclick but the value is reset automatically to intial value everytime as the button is insert and page is reloaded Protected Sub InsertButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Dim entries As Label = FindControl("label1") entries.Text = entries.Text - 1 End Sub

  • Logoff User when browser tab page is closed, ASP.NET MVC

    - by Gopinath
In one of the ASP.NET MVC apps we would like to logoff the user automatically if he closes the browser tab in which the app is opened. We are using the following code when he authenticates. FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(userName, false) As of now, if we closes the browser window and relaunch it, users are asked to authenticate again. But we want to ask users to authenticate again if they close the tab and try to access any of the website urls.

  • Intercept method calls in Python

    - by eaigner
Hi. I'm implementing a RESTful web service in python and would like to add some QOS logging functionality by intercepting function calls and logging their execution time and so on. Basically i thought of a class from which all other services can inherit, that automatically overrides the default method implementations and wraps them in a logger function. What's the best way to achieve this?

    I am aware that we can localize datepicker using $(selector).datepicker($.datepicker.regional['fr']); However can we do something like if a user passes in a value that's not supported by the datepicker regional, then automatically shift to the default language Something like: if(datepicker.regional does not support the language) $.datepicker.setDefaults($.datepicker.regional['']);

  • auto submit form from command line

    - by combatwombat
I have a form page in PHP that reads a DBF, and conditionally converts it into a MySQL - extracting the data from an old, but still production accounting app. The conversion should be able to be actioned without user intervention, ie scripted from the web-host's command line on a cron job. How can I get PHP to submit the form automatically when receiving variables at command line, like for instance a specific post variable? Every auto-submit I've found so far relied upon javascript, which would be useless at PHP command line.
