  • How to change all selected chars to _ in Vim

    I try to draw a class diagram using Vim. I fill the editor window with white-spaces. Type :match SpellBad /\s/ to highlight all the white-spaces. Ctrl+Q to select vertical white-spaces. Ctrl+I to insert Bar(|) and then Esc ........................... v+l +... + l to select horizontal white-spaces But I don't know how to change all selected horizontal white-spaces to underscore(_). I have to hit _ serval times.   • Apache Getting Bogged Down By Certain Script (Wp-Cron.php) - How To Kill Process Automatically

    I have a server that is running a number of wordpress blogs, and a number of them have several hundred/thousand posts. Every couple of days, the server slows to a crawl due to a file being run on Wordpress called WP-cron.php. My entire apache process log turns into this : http:// imgur.com/A7K9k.png Times that by quite a bit. And server no go. Each process takes up about 1.1% of ram. And when we have 50 of them on the go. It gets insane. Not all of them are coming from the same blog, they are pretty widespread. In the Apache process page of WHM, they are usually ALL set to the status of "C", which means closing. But they can sit there until they crash the server, and they still hold the memory. Just google "wp-cron.php load" and you will find plenty of people with similar issues. In anycase, we have think it is down to users adding a tonne of dead "pinglists" to their wordpress installation. Which in turn wordpress loops through them endlessly. Problem number 1. Does anyone have any other suggestions about what would cause the Wordpress file wp-cron.php to loop endlessly. I still think it is down to pings, because all of the people we have contacted about their account load going sky high, have had massive ping lists. Problem number 2. Even if it is down to excessive pinglists in wordpress. We cannot be babying every single account on the server waiting for it to start spawning the wp-cron processes. It often happens overnight, and I start getting SMS alerts at 2am about the load. I have CSF installed, which apparently would have ended the processes if they ran over XXX time. But I have been told that it won't catch the processes because they end up in this state of "closing" (They show up as "C" on the Apache page of WHM). Apparently CSF will only kill processes that are "running" which C does not count. I have seen various other scripts such as : http://dltj.org/article/die-apache-die/ . I took a look at the stat of /proc. But I was boggled at which delimited part was the time running. And if there was any way I could connect it back to an actual Apache process, so that I could see what file was running (So only close connections connected to wp-cron.php, with a state of "C"). Overall I know Problem 2 glosses over the real reason. But I do put the whole thing to excessive pinglists in Wordpress. But I just cannot sit there and babysit every single installation 24/7. So I need a way to save the server when I am not available. Any help would be much appreciated.

Iam happy! Why not the same happens when i try to do from the browser (i tested in IE6 & Chrome) using javascript:document.getElementById("myInput").type="text" different browsers behave in different way... when i tried javascript:document.getElementById("myInput").value="myNewValue", IE6 changes the value, but chrome doesn't.. Why is this "javascript:" behaving like this ?

  • Linux: How to allow group members to set/change permissions on a file

    I thought I had a good understanding of how permissions worked on linux. I have folder where it and everything inside has the owner "me" and the group "group". I gave the group rwx access on all the files and still members of the group cannot modify permissions on any files. I'm using Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 Is it possible to allow group members to modify permissions on file and not just the owner? How? Thanks in advance

    I tried (but nothing happens) self.txt.SetBackgroundColour ((255,0,0)) As said in the title I'm trying to change the background colour StyledTextCtrl. Does anyone know a method that could be used? I've checked the API docs but I couldn't seem to find one, http://wxpython.org/docs/api/wx.stc.StyledTextCtrl-class.html (by background colour, I mean the whole writing area, of course) Does anyone know a way I could do this? (I realized that I prefer to run with about 168 bpm in my ears).   • How can I change the default date format?

    When I paste a date into Excel 2010 in the format "2012-12-07 00:00:00.000" I'd like it to be displayed by default as "2012-12-07", but it is actually displayed as "00:00.0". I know I can work around this by prepending a ' or changing the cell format, but I'm interested in changing the default format. An approach that almost works is going to Control Panel-Region and Language-Long Time format and changing it to something like "h". This results in Excel displaying the dates I paste in as "2012-12-07 00:00:00.000", but screws up times displayed outside of Excel. The dates I'm pasting in are from SQL Server.

Right now, the website URL looks like http://ec2-<some numbers>.compute-1.amazonaws.com/ I am evaluating the usefulness of these services for my small business purposes; is there a way I can get my URL to look something more like http://<mybusiness>.com. Ideally, I would like to get it to look cleaner, and furthermore I would rather not have "amazonaws" as part of it. Is this possible? I'm a newb to AWS, so apologies if this is an easy question

They reside in separate directories. From time to time, the normal-priority scripts get very busy, and the httpd servers "swamp out" the less frequently called high priority ones. Is it possible to set aside n httpd servers so that they only listen for the "high priority" scripts?

    I am new to webpage design and MVC. I have a aspx page and I have a html image. I want to change this image and make it clickable so that it will refresh only the bottom half of the page when clicked. I setup my image so that the source of the image is updated by the controller. By using the following src="<%=ViewData["BookImg"] %>" So that the whole story is clear. When a person clicks on the image of the book, it displays on the bottom half of the page information about that book pulled from a sql database. I am thinking that I would need to look into getting ajax implemented so that I can do partial page update. But the question is how do I change that HTML image into a button.   • lamp -- edit PHP file but doesn't change web output -- including die()

    Server is standard Linux server on Amazon Web Services. Cent OS 5/Apache/PHP 5.3. No APC. It's worked fine for over a year, but now when I edit some but not all PHP files on the server using vi, the changes don't affect the web output. For example, I edit myfile.php and put a die() at the top, but when I load the page in my web browser, instead of the die() I see the content that would show up if the die() weren't there. svn updating the file in question doesn't help either. Files are on an Amazon EBS partition symlinked to /var/www/html. Just to reiterate -- this has worked fine for a long time. Restarting apache didn't help, nor did rebooting the server. What's weird is that it's just some of the files but not all. File ownership/permissions are the same for the "good" and "problem" files. I'm not a Linux newbie but am at a complete loss with this, and couldn't find anything on Google either. Any hints would be much appreciated!

I don't use Greasemonkey on any other browser, but if you know, do add info for those as well I use Greasemonkey daily ... having some 20 scripts loaded all the time which save me a ton of grief. But, some of them I sometimes don't need ... few examples: - I use Google Image Status Reporter & Direct Images (links you directly to image file) ... but sometimes I want to go to the page where the image is ... - GReader Minimalist Style ... until I actually need to check the trends and some stuff it hides - there are other examples but these two first sprang to mind, since I just were thinking about that ... To put the long story short ... sometimes I would like a shortcut to disable Greasemonkey, so I don't have to go into the menubar and so on (which I also have half hidden for space) ... anyone knows of any, or how one could create one ?
