    My application requires the user to enter their business name, which the application will automatically create into a unique identifier to be used in URLs, ie "Bob's Cafe" will become "bobs-cafe" But if there are duplicate names I would like the application to add a number so if there is already a "bobs-cafe" we will use "bobs-cafe-1" and likewise if there is already a "bobs-cafe-1" we will use "bobs-cafe-2" Ive used explode and also looked at a regular expressions but I dont know the best way to approach this. Im stuck in being able to grab the number and incrementing it and returning the string

    In your browser, when you want to save an HTML page that you are currently viewing, you normally go to the File menu and click Save As. Can I have a little button at the bottom of an HTML page that does the same thing? So instead of going to the File menu - Save As, I want my user to be able to click the button to save the page on to the disk.     I'm playing around with css transforms and the equivalent filters in IE, and want to simulate perspective by transforming a 2d rectangle into a trapezium. Specifically, I want the right hand side of the rectangle to stay the same height, and the left hand side to be say 80% of the height, so that the mid points of both sides are horizontally in line with each other. I'm familiar with matrix algebra, but can't think how to determine what matrix will do that.

After much spelunking and stepping through with a debugger, I realised that I needed to add a hook_user function in my module so that the %user_category part of the menu router path would work. It's now functioning as expected, but I don't really have a solid idea of what I just did, and haven't found a good explanation anywhere. Can anyone explain to me what it's about?

What I want to do is create string of given length with made of up multiples of another string up to that length So for length - 9 and input string "xxx" I get "xxxxxxxxx" (ie length 9) for a nun integral multiple then I'd like to truncate the line. I can do this using loops and a StringBuilder easily but I'm looking to see if the language can express this idea easily. (FYI I'm making easter maths homework for my son)

    I'm trying to call a function, test(), of an iframe from the parent document using the code subframe.test(); subframe refers correctly to the iframe, alert(subframe) returns [object HTMLIFrameElement], and the function runs in both IE7 and opera (9.23), but not firefox (3.0), chrome (3.0) or safari (3.03 beta windows). I assume these browsers support the functionality, so wondering if perhaps I'm using an incorrect call which IE and Opera support anyway, which wouldn't surprise me.

    Hey all.. I noticed that an application I am maintaining was giving me a javascript error in IE8 and FF. The script was trying to get a collection of frame elements: document.frames This always returned 'undefined'. I placed a watch on the document object and noticed that this collection does not seem to be a member of the document object in IE8. I think this was always the case in FF but this same code works in older versions of IE. Has this been removed? -Nick

    What is the best way to link to the icons of websites? Meaning, given a hostname, what src should I put in an <img tag to link to the 16x16 icon? I was just doing http://<hostname>/favicon.ico.     Do you see any problem with this: I'm in ASP.net and I'm using pikachoose jquery slideshow. It works fine in IE and was working in Firefox. However, somehow it's now stopped working in firefox and firebug is giving the doctype line above out as a syntax error and $ is not defined for the jquery script? Any ideas Thanks Andy

  • PDF to PNG Processor - Paperclip

    I am trying to develop a system in which a user can upload a slideshow (pdf) and it'll export each slide as a png. After some digging around I came across a post on here that suggested using a processor. I've had a go, but I cant get the command to run, if it is running then I don't know what is happening because no errors are being shown. When I run that command by hand, it works but it doesn't give the details of each slide it just executes it. What I need to happen is once its made all the slides, pass back the data to a new model... or I know where all the slides are, but once I get to that point I'm not sure what todo.
