  • AsyncListViewAdapter + SimplePager, why is inactive pager clearing the table?

    - by Jaroslav Záruba
    I'm trying to make CellTable work together with AsyncListViewAdapter<T> and SimplePager<T>. The data gets displayed, but when the pager should be 'deaf' (meaning when all existing data are displayed) it still receives clicks and, more importantly, makes the displayed data go away. Instead of my data 'loading' indicator gets displayed, and it keep loading and loading... Obviously nothing gets loaded, as it doesn't even call the onRangeChanged handler. I went through the code-snippets in this thread, but I can't see anything suspicions on what I've been doing. Is there some obvious answer to a rookie mistake? I shrinked my variable names, hopefully it won't wrap too much. protected class MyAsyncAdapter extends AsyncListViewAdapter<DTO> { @Override protected void onRangeChanged(ListView<DTO> v) { /* * doesn't even get called on [go2start/go2end] click :( */ Range r = v.getRange(); fetchData(r.getStart(), r.getLength()); } } private void addTable() { // table: CellTable<DTO> table = new CellTable<DTO>(10); table.addColumn(new Column<DTO, String>(new TextCell()) { @Override public String getValue(DTO myDto) { return myDto.getName(); } }, "Name"); // pager: SimplePager<DTO> pager = new SimplePager<DTO>(table); table.setPager(pager); adapter = new MyAsyncAdapter(); adapter.addView(table); // does not make any difference: // adapter.updateDataSize(0, false); // adapter.updateDataSize(10, true); VerticalPanel vPanel = new VerticalPanel(); vPanel.add(table); vPanel.add(pager); RootLayoutPanel.get().add(vPanel); } // success-handler of my fetching AsyncCallback @Override public void onSuccess(List<DTO> data) { // AsyncCallback<List<DTO>> has start field adapter.updateViewData(start, data.size(), data); if(data.size() < length) adapter.updateDataSize(start + data.size(), true); } Regards J. • Java: Detecting image format, resize (scale) and save as JPEG

    - by BoDiE2003
    This is the code I have, it actually works, not perfectly but it does, the problem is that the resized thumbnails are not pasting on the white Drawn rectangle, breaking the images aspect ratio, here is the code, could someone suggest me a fix for it, please? Thank you import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.Image; import java.awt.RenderingHints; import java.awt.geom.Rectangle2D; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import java.io.BufferedInputStream; import java.io.ByteArrayInputStream; import java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStream; import javax.imageio.ImageIO; import org.apache.commons.logging.Log; import org.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory; public class ImageScalerImageIoImpl implements ImageScaler { private static final String OUTPUT_FORMAT_ID = "jpeg"; // Re-scaling image public byte[] scaleImage(byte[] originalImage, int targetWidth, int targetHeight) { try { InputStream imageStream = new BufferedInputStream( new ByteArrayInputStream(originalImage)); Image image = (Image) ImageIO.read(imageStream); int thumbWidth = targetWidth; int thumbHeight = targetHeight; // Make sure the aspect ratio is maintained, so the image is not skewed double thumbRatio = (double)thumbWidth / (double)thumbHeight; int imageWidth = image.getWidth(null); int imageHeight = image.getHeight(null); double imageRatio = (double)imageWidth / (double)imageHeight; if (thumbRatio < imageRatio) { thumbHeight = (int)(thumbWidth / imageRatio); } else { thumbWidth = (int)(thumbHeight * imageRatio); } // Draw the scaled image BufferedImage thumbImage = new BufferedImage(thumbWidth, thumbHeight, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB); System.out.println("Thumb width Buffered: " + thumbWidth + " || Thumb height Buffered: " + thumbHeight); Graphics2D graphics2D = thumbImage.createGraphics(); // Use of BILNEAR filtering to enable smooth scaling graphics2D.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_INTERPOLATION, RenderingHints.VALUE_INTERPOLATION_BILINEAR); // graphics2D.drawImage(image, 0, 0, thumbWidth, thumbHeight, null); // White Background graphics2D.setPaint(Color.WHITE); graphics2D.fill(new Rectangle2D.Double(0, 0, targetWidth, targetHeight)); graphics2D.fillRect(0, 0, targetWidth, targetHeight); System.out.println("Target width: " + targetWidth + " || Target height: " + targetHeight); // insert the resized thumbnail between X and Y of the image graphics2D.drawImage(image, 0, 0, thumbWidth, thumbHeight, null); System.out.println("Thumb width: " + thumbWidth + " || Thumb height: " + thumbHeight); // Write the scaled image to the outputstream ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); ImageIO.write(thumbImage, OUTPUT_FORMAT_ID, out); return out.toByteArray(); } catch (IOException ioe) { throw new ImageResizingException(ioe); } } }

  • Comparing text files w/ Junit

    - by jon077
    I am comparing text files in junit using: public static void assertReaders(BufferedReader expected, BufferedReader actual) throws IOException { String line; while ((line = expected.readLine()) != null) { assertEquals(line, actual.readLine()); } assertNull("Actual had more lines then the expected.", actual.readLine()); assertNull("Expected had more lines then the actual.", expected.readLine()); } Is this a good way to compare text files? What is preferred?

  • Android Couchdb - libcouch and IPC Aidl Services

    - by dirtySanchez
    I am working on a native CouchdDB app with android. Now just this week CouchOne released libcouch, described as "Library files needed to interact with CouchDB on Android": couchone_libcouch@Github It is a basic app that installs CouchDB if the CouchDB service (that comes with CouchDB if it was installed previously) can't be bound to. To be more precise, as I understand it: libcouch estimates CouchDb's presence on the device by trying to bind to a IPC Service from CouchDB and through that service wants communicate with CouchDB. Please see the method "attemptLaunch()" at CouchAppLauncher.class for reviewing this: public void attemptLaunch() { Log.i(TAG,"1.) called attemptLaunch"); Intent intent = new Intent(ICouchService.class.getName()); Log.i(TAG,"1.a) setup Intent"); Boolean canStart = bindService(intent, couchServiceConn, Context.BIND_AUTO_CREATE); Log.i(TAG,"1.b bound service. canStart: " + Boolean.toString(canStart)); if (!canStart) { setContentView(R.layout.install_couchdb); TextView label = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.install_couchdb_text); Button btn = (Button) this.findViewById(R.id.install_couchdb_btn); String text = getString(R.string.app_name) + " requires Apache CouchDB to be installed."; label.setText(text); // Launching the market will fail on emulators btn.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { launchMarket(); finish(); } }); } } The question(s) I have about this are: libcouch never is able to "find" a previously installed CouchDB. It always attempts to install CouchDB from the market. This is because it never actually is able to bind to the CouchDBService. As I understand the purpose auf AIDL generated service interfaces, the actual service that intends to offer it's IPC to other applications should make use of AIDL. In this case the AIDL has been moved to the application that is trying to bind to the remote service, which is libcouch in this case. Reviewing the commits the AIDL files have just been moved out of that repository to libcouch. For complete linkage, here's the link to the Android CouchDB sources: github.com/couchone/libcouch-android Now, I could be completely wrong in my findings, it could also be lincouch's Manifest that s missing something, but I am really looking forward to get some answers!

  • HTTPS intercept

    - by Adrian
    I don't know much about SSL, but I've read something and I was wondering if it's possible to intercept the communication between client and server (for example, a company can monitor employees data transfer?). I thought it was a difficult task, but it looks like that it is very simple. When a client requests a https connection the router can be instructed to intercept the key exchange and send to the server and the client it's own public keys (further it can encode/decode the hole traffic). Is it true, or I'm misunderstanding something?

  • Executing Password Change over Ruby Net-SSH

    - by tesmar
    Hi all, I am looking to execute a password change over Net-ssh and this code seems to hang: Net::SSH.start(server_ip, "user", :verbose => :debug ) do |session| session.process.popen3("ls") do |input, output, error| ["old_pass","test", "test"].each do |x| input.puts x end end end I know the connection works because using a simple exec I can get the output from ls on the remote server, but this hangs. Any ideas? The last message from debug is that the public key succeeded.

  • Why does LINQ-to-Entites recognize my custom method?

    - by BlueRaja The Green Unicorn
    This works: (from o in Entities.WorkOrderSet select o) .Where(MyCustomMethod); This does not: (from o in Entities.WorkOrderSet select new { WorkOrder = o }) .Where(o => MyCustomMethod(o.WorkOrder); I understand why the second doesn't work - but why in the world does the first work!? Shouldn't I get a "custom method not recognized?" For reference, here is MyCustomMethod public bool MyCustomMethod(WorkOrder workOrder) { return !workOrder.WorkOrderNum.StartsWith("A", StringComparison.CurrentCultureIgnoreCase); }

  • TimePickerDialog and AM or PM

    - by martinjd
    I have a TimePickerDialog with is24Hour set to false since I want to present the end-user with the more familiar 12 hour format. When the hour, minute and AM PM indicator are set and the time is returned how can I identify whether the end-user has selected AM or PM? This is what I have for the listener: private TimePickerDialog.OnTimeSetListener mTimeSetListener = new TimePickerDialog.OnTimeSetListener() { @Override public void onTimeSet(TimePicker view, int hourOfDay, int minute) { mHour = hourOfDay; mMinute = minute; // mIsAM = WHERE CAN I GET THIS VALUE } };

  • When to throw exceptions?

    - by FRKT
    Exceptions are wonderful things, but I sometimes worry that I throw too many. Consider this example: Class User { public function User(user){ // Query database for user data if(!user) throw new ExistenceException('User not found'); } } I'd argue that it makes as much sense to simply return false (or set all user data to false in this case), rather than throwing an exception. Which do you prefer?
