    Hi I know that the function Location.getBearing() returns the bearing if any when in move public void onLocationChanged(Location lastLocation) { int bearing=lastLocation.getBearing() } ,so now bearing might be , 170 degrees..but, I'd like to know if there is anything in android that will give me the direction of the orientation (ex for 170 degrees , the direction is : SSE south, south east)

    Hi, I am writing an Android app, part of which will be a survey involving multiple pages of checkbox question and answers. I have created an activity to display the question and options (from the DB) and what I want to do now is when i press the "Next" button it should just reload the current activity with the next question set from the database. (the activity starts with survey.getNextQuestion() - so its just a case of refreshing the activity so it updates) Im sure this is a simple thing to do -any ideas? Thanks

    This is a simple question about getting started with developing Android apps using Eclipse. I have followed all the tutorials on the developer site for installing Eclipse, the SDK and the ADT plugin. When trying to run a simple Hello World program, everything seems to compile correctly, but then the virtual machine comes up empty. In the Console Window it reads: The program then just sits and my text never comes up. Any idea with what the problem could be?

  • Android TimePicker hour field disappears after orientation change

    I am using a TimePicker under API 1.5 and when the orientation is changed on my device (a stock G1 running 1.6 - though NOT on the 1.5/1.6 emulator), the hour field goes blank. It still remembers the hour, it just doesn't show it. Is there any workaround for this?     Hi Guys, I'm constructing a geolocation based application and I'm trying to figure out a way to make my application realise when a user is facing the direction of the given location (a particular long / lat co-ord). I've got the math figured, I just have the triangle to construct. Here's a further clarification of what I want to do.. I just want to know is there a way to get java to construct 2 other co-ordinates based on my orientation in relation to true north and my current co-ordinate? I'd like to construct a tri-angle, 45 degrees out each way of my current location (one of the points) and 1 kilometer in that direction. The problem is I don't know how to make Android/Java recognise that I want to find that point in the direction I'm currently facing.. Anyone got any ideas?

  • Unable to install USB drivers for android

    I'm running Win XP 64bit and am connecting a Motocliq to my computer. The device is recognized by windows and shows up in the device manager (Motorola ADB Interface), however when I try to install drivers (manually, from the usb_driver revision 3 provided by Android) it fails giving the error "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." Does anyone else have experience installing this drivers on XP64bit/Motocliq?

    Is it possible to automatically detect, which certificate was used for signing APK? I'd like to have both debug and release Maps certificates in application and pass valid one to MapView constructor. With such setup I will not make mistake while releasing application - I'm using debug certificate on emulator and my device, then sign with release one before sending app to Market. I was thinking about detecting my particular device or whether debugger is connected but it is not perfect. Maybe some file marking need for debug certificate? Is there any better way?
