  • How to load an ajax (jquery) request response progressively without waiting for it to finish?

    I want to make a form that will use jquery to submit a list of keyword to a php file, this file could take a lot of time to load depending on the size of the keywords list. What I want to do is to load the php response into a div or container in real time without using iframes. All the ajax request I know have to wait until the request has finished before having access to the response, I need to get access to that response even when it hasn't finished so I can update the progress in real time.

In that, users are uploading files and I want to report on a perotic basis how many bytes have been read/received so far. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I might do this...   • Why does Git.pm on cygwin complain about 'Out of memory during "large" request?

    Hi, I'm getting this error while doing a git svn rebase in cygwin Out of memory during "large" request for 268439552 bytes, total sbrk() is 140652544 bytes at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/Git.pm line 898, <GEN1> line 3. 268439552 is 256MB. Cygwin's maxium memory size is set to 1024MB so I'm guessing that it has a different maximum memory size for perl? How can I increase the maximum memory size that perl programs can use? update: This is where the error occurs (in Git.pm): while (1) { my $bytesLeft = $size - $bytesRead; last unless $bytesLeft; my $bytesToRead = $bytesLeft < 1024 ? $bytesLeft : 1024; my $read = read($in, $blob, $bytesToRead, $bytesRead); //line 898 unless (defined($read)) { $self->_close_cat_blob(); throw Error::Simple("in pipe went bad"); } $bytesRead += $read; } I've added a print before line 898 to print out $bytesToRead and $bytesRead and the result was 1024 for $bytesToRead, and 134220800 for $bytesRead, so it's reading 1024 bytes at a time and it has already read 128MB. Perl's 'read' function must be out of memory and is trying to request for double it's memory size...is there a way to specify how much memory to request? or is that implementation dependent?   • JSon/Jquery request with a setTimeout always returns a "null" result? (for Twitter Search API)

    I make a call to the twitter API. 100 posts are retreived + a properties that tells me what the next page to call is. So I wait 5 sec. and call that next page, but the JSon results in the callback function is always null the second time... I think it's probably a JQuery problem...     I am trying to make a XMLHttpRequest Request to a content which is on local, runnin on local webserver from a HTML File and javascript residing locally. it will hit the webserver request, and then even thou it sends the data back, in my javscript, at once I get readyState 4 and status as 0. If i try putting the pages in the webserver foloder and access them as webpage slke http;//localhost/ filename then it works fine.

Its not as easy as: if(cookiesArePresent) { bool isDifferent = HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies[".ASPXANONYMOUS"].value == HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies[".ASPXANONYMOUS"].value; } But I read that changing the Response.Cookies changes the Request.Cookies. That would mean they are always the same if HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies[".ASPXANONYMOUS"] was changed.     I know I can do an out of band Post request with Jquery and the $.post( syntax. However, I'm interested to know if it is possible for jquery to cause a post request on the whole page (as when a form is submitted) so that a brand new page is loaded. Is this possible? Thanks There is no form element in the DOM, so I can't do form.submit().
