  • Problem with ar_mailer

    - by Roberto
    Hi guys, I'm running a strange problem sending emails. Basicly I'm getting this exception: ArgumentError (wrong number of arguments (1 for 0)): /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.1.1/lib/active_record/base.rb:642:in `initialize' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.1.1/lib/active_record/base.rb:642:in `new' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-2.1.1/lib/active_record/base.rb:642:in `create' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ar_mailer-1.3.1/lib/action_mailer/ar_mailer.rb:92:in `perform_delivery_activerecord' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ar_mailer-1.3.1/lib/action_mailer/ar_mailer.rb:91:in `each' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ar_mailer-1.3.1/lib/action_mailer/ar_mailer.rb:91:in `perform_delivery_activerecord' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionmailer-2.1.1/lib/action_mailer/base.rb:508:in `__send__' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionmailer-2.1.1/lib/action_mailer/base.rb:508:in `deliver!' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionmailer-2.1.1/lib/action_mailer/base.rb:383:in `method_missing' /app/controllers/web_reservations_controller.rb:29:in `test_email' In my web_reservations_controller I have a simply method calling TestMailer.deliver_send_email And my TesMailer is something like: class TestMailer < ActionMailer::ARMailer def send_email @recipients = "[email protected]" @from = "[email protected]" @subject = "TEST MAIL SUBJECT" @body = "<br>TEST MAIL MESSAGE" @content_type = "text/html" end end Do you have any idea? Thanks! Roberto

  • C++ Exceptions and Inheritance from std::exception

    - by fbrereto
    Given this sample code: #include <iostream> #include <stdexcept> class my_exception_t : std::exception { public: explicit my_exception_t() { } virtual const char* what() const throw() { return "Hello, world!"; } }; int main() { try { throw my_exception_t(); } catch (const std::exception& error) { std::cerr << "Exception: " << error.what() << std::endl; } catch (...) { std::cerr << "Exception: unknown" << std::endl; } return 0; } I get the following output: Exception: unknown Yet simply making the inheritance of my_exception_t from std::exception public, I get the following output: Exception: Hello, world! Could someone please explain to me why the type of inheritance matters in this case? Bonus points for a reference in the standard.

  • NHibernate 2.1 MsSql2000Dialect error

    - by Daniel Dolz
    Hi. I had an old (but great) app using NHibernate 1.0.2. Worked like a charm. But then I decided to upgrade to NHibernate 2.1.2. Had to change some stuff, worked great also. Problem is, I founded out that new version works in some machines and do not work in others. What the heck? Thinking a while, I discovered that it only works in pcs with SQL 2000 installed!! previous version used to works everywhere.... Check out a piece of my exception, it has to do with mssql2000Dialect NHibernate.MappingException: Could not compile the mapping document: Datos.NH_VEN_ComprobanteBF.hbm.xml ---> NHibernate.HibernateException: Could not instantiate dialect class NHibernate.Dialect.MsSql2000Dialect ---> System.Reflection. Dialect.Dialect..ctor() en NHibernate.Dialect.MsSql2000Dialect..ctor() --- Fin del seguimiento de la pila de la excepción interna --- en System.RuntimeTypeHandle.CreateInstance(RuntimeType type, Boolean publicOnly, Boolean noCheck, Boolean& canBeCached, RuntimeMethodHandle& ctor, Boolean& bNeedSecurityCheck) en System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceSlow(Boolean publicOnly, Boolean fillCache) Could you help? • DataContract Known Types - passing array

    - by Erup
    Im having problems when passing an generic List, trough a WCF operation. In this case, there is a List of int. The example 4 is described here in MSDN. Note that in MSDN sample, is described: // This will serialize and deserialize successfully because the generic List is equivalent to int[], which was added to known types. Above, is the DataContract: [DataContract] [KnownType(typeof(int[]))] [KnownType(typeof(object[]))] public class AccountData { [DataMember] public object accNumber1; [DataMember] public object accNumber2; [DataMember] public object accNumber3; [DataMember] public object accNumber4; } In client side, Im calling the operation like this: DataTransfer.Service.AccountData data = new DataTransfer.Service.AccountData() { accNumber1 = 100, accNumber2 = new int[100], accNumber3 = new List<int>(), accNumber4 = new ArrayList() }; cService.AddAccounts(data); Also, here is the decorations of the generated AccountData obj (WCF proxy): [System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()] [System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("System.Runtime.Serialization", "3.0.0.0")] [System.Runtime.Serialization.DataContractAttribute(Name="AccountData", Namespace="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/DataTransfer.Service")] [System.SerializableAttribute()] [System.Runtime.Serialization.KnownTypeAttribute(typeof(DataTransfer.Client.CustomerServiceReference.PurchaseOrder))] [System.Runtime.Serialization.KnownTypeAttribute(typeof(DataTransfer.Client.CustomerServiceReference.Customer))] [System.Runtime.Serialization.KnownTypeAttribute(typeof(int[]))] [System.Runtime.Serialization.KnownTypeAttribute(typeof(object[]))]

  • Cocos2D Director Pause/Resume Issue

    - by Aditya
    I am trying to play a .gif animation in cocos2D. For this i am using the library glgif. Now, to display the animation i am pausing the Director, adding a subview to show the animation and after the animation is done i am resuming the Director. However, I am not able to resume the state of the Director and it shows blank. So I tried this without pausing and resuming this Director and it still did not work.I also tried detaching the director before tha animation and adding it back afterwards and even that did not work. So is there a way to pause/suspend the Director in the application and properly restore is back? Thanks. Code sample: [[Director sharedDirector] pause]; [[Director sharedDirector] detach]; AppDelegate *del = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [del.window addSubview:del.viewController.view]; [del.window makeKeyAndVisible]; // this is code to call glgif class and start anim. //code to resume the director AppDelegate *del = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [[Director sharedDirector] resume]; [[Director sharedDirector] attachInView:del.window]; MScene *m = [MScene node]; [[Director sharedDirector] replaceScene:m];

  • matplotlib.pyplot/pylab not updating figure while isinteractive(), using ipython -pylab

    - by NumberOverZero
    There are a lot of questions about matplotlib, pylab, pyplot, ipython, so I'm sorry if you're sick of seeing this asked. I'll try to be as specific as I can, because I've been looking through people's questions and looking at documentation for pyplot and pylab, and I still am not sure what I'm doing wrong. On with the code: Goal: plot a figure every .5 seconds, and update the figure as soon as the plot command is called. My attempt at coding this follows (running on ipython -pylab): import time ion() x=linspace(-1,1,51) plot(sin(x)) for i in range(10): plot([sin(i+j) for j in x]) #see ** print i time.sleep(1) print 'Done' It correctly plots each line, but not until it has exited the for loop. I have tried forcing a redraw by putting draw() where ** is, but that doesn't seem to work either. Ideally, I'd like to have it simply add each line, instead of doing a full redraw. If redrawing is required however, that's fine. Additional attempts at solving: just after ion(), tried adding hold(True) to no avail. for kicks tried show() for ** The closest answer I've found to what I'm trying to do was at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2310851/plotting-lines-without-blocking-execution, but show() isn't doing anything. I apologize if this is a straightforward request, and I'm looking past something so obvious. For what it's worth, this came up while I was trying to convert matlab code from class to some python for my own use. The original matlab (initializations removed) which I have been trying to convert follows: for i=1:time plot(u) hold on pause(.01) for j=2:n-1 v(j)=u(j)-2*u(j-1) end v(1)= pi u=v end Any help, even if it's just "look up this_method" would be excellent, so I can at least narrow my efforts to figuring out how to use that method. If there's any more information that would be useful, let me know.

  • Consume webservice from a .NET DLL - app.config problem

    - by Asaf R
    Hi, I'm building a DLL, let's call it mydll.dll, and in it I sometimes need to call methods from webservice, myservice. mydll.dll is built using C# and .NET 3.5. To consume myservice from mydll I've Added A Service in Visual Studio 2008, which is more or less the same as using svcutil.exe. Doing so creates a class I can create, and adds endpoint and bindings configurations to mydll app.config. The problem here is that mydll app.config is never loaded. Instead, what's loaded is the app.config or web.config of the program I use mydll in. I expect mydll to evolve, which is why I've decoupled it's funcionality from the rest of my system to begin with. During that evolution it will likely add more webservice to which it'll call, ruling out manual copy-paste ways to overcome this problem. I've looked at several possible approaches to attacking this issue: Manually copy endpoints and bindings from mydell app.config to target EXE or web .config file. Couples the modules, not flexible Include endpoints and bindings from mydll app.config in target .config, using configSource (see here). Also add coupling between modules Programmatically load mydll app.config, read endpoints and bindings, and instantiate Binding and EndpointAddress. Use a different tool to create local frontend for myservice I'm not sure which way to go. Option 3 sounds promising, but as it turns out it's a lot of work and will probably introduce several bugs, so it doubtfully pays off. I'm also not familiar with any tool other than the canonical svcutil.exe. Please either give pros and cons for the above alternative, provide tips for implementing any of them, or suggest other approaches. Thanks, Asaf

  • StringTemplate Variable with Object Properties

    - by David Higgins
    I am starting to use StringTemplate for the first time, and am stuck trying to figure out how to get StringTemplate to do something like the following: article.st $elemenets:article/elements()$ article/elements.st $if($it.is_type)$ $it:article/type()$ $elseif($it.is_type2)$ $it:article/type2()$ // also tried: $it.value:article/type2()$, same result $endif$ article/type.st <type>$it.value$</type> article/type2.st <h1>$it.value.title</h1> <type2>$it.value.text</type2> program.cs StringTemplateGroup group = new StringTemplateGroup("article", "Templates"); StringTemplate template = group.GetInstanceOf("Article"); template.SetAttribute("elements", new Element() { is_type = true, value = "<p>Hello Text</p>" }); template.SetAttribute("elements", new Element() { is_type2 = true, value = new { title = "Type 2 Title", text = "Type2 Text" } }); return template.ToString(); Problem here is ... the if(it.is_type) works fine, and the article/type.st works perfectly. However, when I pass an object to the value property for 'Element' I get this error: Class ClassName has no such attribute: text in template context [Article article/element elseif(it.is_type2)_subtemplate article/type2] So - my question is, how do i access the properties/fields of an object, within an object using StringTemplate?

  • How to use iPhone SDK Private APIs

    - by eagle
    I haven't found a comprehensive list of the steps that are required to use a private API from the iPhone Library. In particular, I would like to know how to get header files, if they are even required, how to get it to compile (when I simply add the header, it complains that the functions aren't defined), and what resources one can use to learn about private APIs (e.g. from other user's experiences, such as http://iphonedevwiki.net/ which has a few). I've read in other places that people recommend using class-dump to get the headers. Are there any alternative methods? I've noticed that there are some repositories of iPhone Private SDKs, what are the most up to date resources you would recommend? Most of the previous questions about documentation of private APIs, have all linked to Erica Sadun's website, which doesn't seem to have documentation anymore (all the links on the left are crossed out). Please save the comments about not using private API's... I know of the biggest risks: App will get rejected by Apple. App will break in future updates to the OS. I'm talking about legitimate uses, such as: Private application use (e.g. for unit testing, or messing around to see what's possible)

  • Powershell / .Net: Get a reference to an object returned by a method

    - by Dan Menes
    I am teaching myself PowerShell by writing a simple parser. I use the .Net framework class Collections.Stack. I want to modify the object at the top of the stack in place. I know I can pop() the object off, modify it, and then push() it back on, but that strikes me as inelegant. First, I tried this: $stk = new-object Collections.Stack $stk.push( (,'My first value') ) ( $stk.peek() ) += ,'| My second value' Which threw an error: Assignment failed because [System.Collections.Stack] doesn't contain a settable property 'peek()'. At C:\Development\StackOverflow\PowerShell-Stacks\test.ps1:3 char:12 + ( $stk.peek <<<< () ) += ,'| My second value' + CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (peek:String) [], RuntimeException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : ParameterizedPropertyAssignmentFailed Next I tried this: $ary = $stk.peek() $ary += ,'| My second value' write-host "Array is: $ary" write-host "Stack top is: $($stk.peek())" Which prevented the error but still didn't do the right thing: Array is: My first value | My second value Stack top is: My first value Clearly, what is getting assigned to $ary is a copy of the object at the top of the stack, so when I the object in $ary, the object at the top of the stack remains unchanged. Finally, I read up on teh [ref] type, and tried this: $ary_ref = [ref]$stk.peek() $ary_ref.value += ,'| My second value' write-host "Referenced array is: $($ary_ref.value)" write-host "Stack top is still: $($stk.peek())" But still no dice: Referenced array is: My first value | My second value Stack top is still: My first value I assume the peek() method returns a reference to the actual object, not the clone. If so, then the reference appears to be being replaced by a clone by PowerShell's expression processing logic. Can somebody tell me if there is a way to do what I want to do? Or do I have to revert to pop() / modify / push()?

  • How do I encapsulate form/post/validation[/redirect] in ViewUserControl in ASP.Net MVC 2

    - by paul
    What I am trying to achieve: encapsulate a Login (or any) Form to be reused across site post to self when Login/validation fails, show original page with Validation Summary (some might argue to just post to Login Page and show Validation Summary there; if what I'm trying to achieve isn't possible, I will just go that route) when Login succeeds, redirect to /App/Home/Index also, want to: stick to PRG principles avoid ajax keep Login Form (UserController.Login()) as encapsulated as possible; avoid having to implement HomeController.Login() since the Login Form might appear elsewhere All but the redirect works. My approach thus far has been: Home/Index includes Login Form: <%Html.RenderAction("Login","User");%> User/Login ViewUserControl<UserLoginViewModel> includes: <%=Html.ValidationSummary("") % using(Html.BeginForm()){} includes hidden form field "userlogin"="1" public class UserController : BaseController { ... [AcceptPostWhenFieldExists(FieldName = "userlogin")] public ActionResult Login(UserLoginViewModel model, FormCollection form){ if (ModelState.IsValid) { if(checkUserCredentials()) { setUserCredentials() return this.RedirectToAction<Areas.App.Controllers.HomeController>(x = x.Index()); } else { return View(); } } ... } Works great when: ModelState or User Credentials fail -- return View() does yield to Home/Index and displays appropriate validation summary. (I have a Register Form on the same page, using the same structure. Each form's validation summary only shows when that form is submitted.) Fails when: ModelState and User Credentials valid -- RedirectToAction<>() gives following error: "Child actions are not allowed to perform redirect actions." It seems like in the Classic ASP days, this would've been solved with Response.Buffer=True. Is there an equivalent setting or workaround now? Btw, running: ASP.Net 4, MVC 2, VS 2010, Dev/Debugging Web Server I hope all of that makes sense. So, what are my options? Or where am I going wrong in my approach? tia!

  • NoSuchMethod exception thrown in GWT

    - by eb1
    I'm starting to get my feet wet in the latest Google Web Toolkit using the Eclipse plugin on OS X 10.5.8. So far I've been able to get the client up and running, which is great. The server, though, is a different matter. I'm trying to link to a .jar file that has some classes I want to use in a server ServiceImpl class, but it seems to have glommed onto a previous iteration of the .jar - I've added a method, rebuilt the jar, removed the jar from the libraries tab on the GWT project's build path (as well as on the exports) and reincluded the jar. No luck - I'm still getting: [WARN] Exception while dispatching incoming RPC call com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.UnexpectedException: Service method 'public abstract org.gwtapplication.client.LWDocument org.gwtapplication.client.DocumentService.getDocument()' threw an unexpected exception: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.externalmodel.MyReallyValidClass.toSomething()Ljava/lang/String; at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.encodeResponseForFailure(RPC.java:378) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.invokeAndEncodeResponse(RPC.java:581) ... Any clue where I should be looking?

  • C# wrapper and Callbacks

    - by fergs
    I'm in the process of writing a C# wrapper for Dallmeier Common API light (Camera & Surviellance systems) and I've never written a wrapper before, but I have used the Canon EDSDK C# wrapper. So I'm using the Canon wrapper as a guide to writing the Dallmeier wrapper. I'm currently having issues with wrapping a callback. In the API manual it has the following: dlm_connect int(unsigned long uLWindowHandle, const char * strIP, const char* strUser1, const char* strPwd1, const char* strUser2, const char* strPwd2, void (*callback)(void *pParameters, void *pResult, void *pInput), void * pInput) Arguments - ulWindowhandle - handle of the window that is passed to the ViewerSDK to display video and messages there - strUser1/2 - names of the users to log in. If only single user login is used strUser2 is - NULL - strPwd1/2 - passwords of both users. If strUser2 is NULL strPwd2 is ignored. Return This function creates a SessionHandle that has to be passed Callback pParameters will be structured: - unsigned long ulFunctionID - unsigned long ulSocketHandle, //handle to socket of the established connection - unsigned long ulWindowHandle, - int SessionHandle, //session handle of the session created - const char * strIP, - const char* strUser1, - const char* strPwd1, - const char* strUser2, - const char * strPWD2 pResult is a pointer to an integer, representing the result of the operation. Zero on success. Negative values are error codes. So from what I've read on the Net and Stack Overflow - C# uses delegates for the purpose of callbacks. So I create a my Callback function : public delegate uint DallmeierCallback(DallPparameters pParameters, IntPtr pResult, IntPtr pInput); I create the connection function [DllImport("davidapidis.dll")] public extern static int dlm_connect(ulong ulWindowHandle, string strIP, string strUser1, string strPwd1, string strUser2, string strPwd2, DallmeierCallback inDallmeierFunc And (I think) the DallPParameters as a struct : [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] public struct DallPParameters { public ulong ulfunctionID; public ulong ulsocketHandle; public ulong ulWindowHandle; ... } All of this is in my wrapper class. Am I heading in the right direction or is this completely wrong?

  • Problem running RoR app in production environment

    Have an app that has "listings" - think classified ads - and each listing has a list of tags. The following code fails when I run the app in production mode, but works fine under development mode uninitialized constant ActiveRecord::Acts::Taggable::InstanceMethods::TagList Extracted source (around line #45): 42: 43: <span class="listingIndexTags"> 44: Location: [location] | Tags: 45: <% tag_list = listing.tag_list %> 46: <% if tag_list != nil %> 47: <% for tag in tag_list %> 48: <%= link_to tag.to_s, { :action => "filter_on", The command line I'm using to start my mongrel instance in this test case: ruby script/server mongrel -e development Defaults to port 3000. • java.lang.ClassCastException: $Proxy99 cannot be cast

    Hi, I am using JBoss4.2.2 and java6. The deployed ear's name is apa.ear In a servlet I have the following code line: placeBid = (PlaceBid) context.lookup("apa/" + PlaceBid.class.getSimpleName() + "/remote"); I have a generated jboss-app.xml like this: <jboss-app> <loader-repository>apa:app=ejb3</loader-repository> </jboss-app> When trying to get the PlaceBid via the context I get this exception java.lang.ClassCastException: $Proxy99 cannot be cast to se.nextit.actionbazaar.buslogic.PlaceBid The PlaceBid interface looks like this: @Remote public interface PlaceBid { Long addBid(String userId, Long itemId, Double bidPrice); } When I run the example coming with EJB3 in action it works. EJB3 in action sample code comes with ant building. I want to use Maven so I have rearranged the code some. However, I don't understan what I am doing wrong here. I have some thoughts about the jboss-app.xml file. I am not sure of how its content should look like. Grateful for any help. Best wishes Lasse

  • Visual Studio project using the Quality Center API remains in memory

    - by Traveling Tech Guy
    Hi, Currently developing a connector DLL to HP's Quality Center. I'm using their (insert expelative) COM API to connect to the server. An Interop wrapper gets created automatically by VStudio. My solution has 2 projects: the DLL and a tester application - essentially a form with buttons that call functions in the DLL. Everything works well - I can create defects, update them and delete them. When I close the main form, the application stops nicely. But when I call a function that returns a list of all available projects (to fill a combo box), if I close the main form, VStudio still shows the solution as running and I have to stop it. I've managed to pinpoint a single function in my code that when I call, the solution remains "hung" and if I don't, it closes well. It's a call to a property in the TDC object get_VisibleProjects that returns a List (not the .Net one, but a type in the COM library) - I just iterate over it and return a proper list (that I later use to fill the combo box): public List<string> GetAvailableProjects() { List<string> projects = new List<string>(); foreach (string project in this.tdc.get_VisibleProjects(qcDomain)) { projects.Add(project); } return projects; } My assumption is that something gets retained in memory. If I run the EXE outside of VStudio it closes - but who knows what gets left behind in memory? My question is - how do I get rid of whatever calling this property returns? Shouldn't the GC handle this? Do I need to delve into pointers? Things I've tried: getting the list into a variable and setting it to null at the end of the function Adding a destructor to the class and nulling the tdc object Stepping through the tester function application all the way out, whne the form closes and the Main function ends - it closes, but VStudio still shows I'm running. Thanks for your assistance!

After trying around with the System.Diagnostics.Process class, and didn´t get the resulst i wanted i find the application called OpenedFileView from Nirsoft. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/opened_files_view.html Basically it does exactly what i want but i have some problems with the implimication in my project. The option wich “OpenedFileView” gives you is to start it with some arguments that it creates you an txt file with all the information i want. But for my case i want to whach the processes in realtime, and if i start the application repetitively i always have the hourglass at my mouse cursor. So after this i tryed some ways to get rid of it, tryed out to put it in a BackgroundWorker Thread. But this changed nothing at all. I also looked for a way to force the Process not to exit, and sending new arguments to it, but this also didn´t worked. So is there any way to use this application in the way I want, or does this didn´t work at all? I hope somebody can help me either with getting away this annoying mouse cursor hourglass, or with a better implimication of this application so i can use it in realtime! Thanks alot! private void start() { _openedFileView = new Process(); _openedFileView.StartInfo.FileName = "pathToApp\\OpenedFilesView.exe"; _openedFileView.EnableRaisingEvents = true; _openedFileView.Exited += new EventHandler(myProcess_Exited); _openedFileView.StartInfo.Arguments = "/scomma pathToOutputFile"; _openedFileView.Start(); } private void myProcess_Exited(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { start(); }

  • Drag and drop rectangle in C#

    - by sama
    I want to know how to draw rectangle in C# and make it dragged and dropped in the page here my code to draw it but I cannot drag or drop it. public partial class Form1 : Form { public bool drag = false; int cur_x, cur_y; Rectangle rec = new Rectangle(10, 10, 100, 100); public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } protected override void OnPaint(PaintEventArgs r) { base.OnPaint(r); Graphics g = r.Graphics; //g.DrawRectangle(Pens.Black, rec); g.FillRectangle(Brushes.Aquamarine, rec); } private void recmousedown(object sender, MouseEventArgs m) { if (m.Button != MouseButtons.Left) return; rec = new Rectangle(m.X, m.Y,100,100); drag = true; cur_x = m.X; cur_y = m.Y; } private void recmousemove(object sender, MouseEventArgs m) { if (m.Button != MouseButtons.Left) return; rec.X = m.X; rec.Y = m.Y; Invalidate(); } }

  • Strange xml/html accent issue

    - by Ayrad
    I have an XML file that contains a message with html tags in it. The XML file is read by a java class that mails it to people. When the mail is received, the accents do not show. For example é doesn't show. I have tried &eacute; in the xml but it gives an error in eclipse saying that the entity has not been declared. I also tried simply inserting &#233; but that shows nothing in the final output. The 3rd thing I tried was using <![CDATA[é]]> but that broke the parser since it didn't output anything after it. However I noticed something weird. When i put something like this in the xml and added UTF-16 encoding <message>text bla bla blaa é&lt; it did ouput the é at the end like this bla bla blaa blaa é. EDIT <message>text bla bla blaa éé&lt; outputs ?é or just one é The file looks something like this: <?xml version="1.0"? encoding="UTF-16"> <message> &lt;b&gt;hello é &lt;/b&gt; </message> </xml> What gives?

  • Debugger Visualizer, ElementHost, and Edit and Continue problems

    - by Frank Fella
    I recently wrote a custom Debugger Visualizer for Visual Studio 2008 for one of the custom types in my application. The UI for the visualizer is written in WPF and is hosted in an element host and shown using the IDialogVisualizerService windowService object. Everything works great, and my visualizer loads and shows the relevant information, but if try to "edit and continue" in my application after loading the visualizer, Visual Studio crashes with no useful error message. In trying to debug this I removed almost all of my code from the solution to the point where I was only serializing a string with the ObjectSource and displaying just an empty element host and I still get the crash on edit and continue. If I remove the element host and show a WinForms control or form there is no crash. Here is the Visualizer code: using System; using System.Drawing; using System.IO; using System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary; using System.Windows.Forms; using System.Windows.Forms.Integration; using Microsoft.VisualStudio.DebuggerVisualizers; using ObjectVisualizerShared; using ObjectVisualizerUI; namespace ObjectVisualizer { public class Visualizer : DialogDebuggerVisualizer { protected override void Show(IDialogVisualizerService windowService, IVisualizerObjectProvider objectProvider) { try { Stream stream = objectProvider.GetData(); if (stream.Length > 0) { BinaryFormatter formatter = new BinaryFormatter(); VisualizerNode node = (VisualizerNode)formatter.Deserialize(stream); if (node != null) { VisualizerWindow window = new VisualizerWindow(node); ElementHost host = new ElementHost(); host.Child = window; host.Dock = DockStyle.Fill; host.Size = new Size(800, 600); windowService.ShowDialog(host); } } } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(string.Format("Error!\n{0}", ex), "Object Visualizer"); } } } } Any ideas?

  • How can I implement NHibernate session per request without a dependency on NHibernate?

    - by Ben
    I've raised this question before but am still struggling to find an example that I can get my head around (please don't just tell me to look at the S#arp Architecture project without at least some directions). So far I have achieved near persistance ignorance in my web project. My repository classes (in my data project) take an ISession in the constructor: public class ProductRepository : IProductRepository { private ISession _session; public ProductRepository(ISession session) { _session = session; } In my global.asax I expose the current session and am creating and disposing session on beginrequest and endrequest (this is where I have the dependency on NHibernate): public static ISessionFactory SessionFactory = CreateSessionFactory(); private static ISessionFactory CreateSessionFactory() { return new Configuration() .Configure() .BuildSessionFactory(); } protected MvcApplication() { BeginRequest += delegate { CurrentSessionContext.Bind(SessionFactory.OpenSession()); }; EndRequest += delegate { CurrentSessionContext.Unbind(SessionFactory).Dispose(); }; } And finally my StructureMap registry: public AppRegistry() { For<ISession>().TheDefault .Is.ConstructedBy(x => MvcApplication.SessionFactory.GetCurrentSession()); For<IProductRepository>().Use<ProductRepository>(); } It would seem I need my own generic implementations of ISession and ISessionFactory that I can use in my web project and inject into my repositories? I'm a little stuck so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ben

  • NSMutableArray to NSString and Passing NSString to Another View IOS5.1

    - by Space Dust
    I have an NSMutableArray of names. I want the pass the data (selected name) inside of NSMutableArray as text to another view's label. FriendsController.m: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; arrayOfNames=[[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; arrayOfIDs=[[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; userName=[[NSString alloc] init]; } - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { long long fbid = [[arrayOfIDs objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]longLongValue]; NSString *user=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%llu/picture",fbid]; [facebook requestWithGraphPath:user andDelegate:self]; userName=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",[arrayOfNames objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]; FriendDetail *profileDetailName = [[FriendDetail alloc] initWithNibName: @"FriendDetail" bundle: nil]; profileDetailName.nameString=userName; [profileDetailName release]; } - (void)request:(FBRequest *)request didLoad:(id)result { if ([result isKindOfClass:[NSData class]]) { transferImage = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData: result]; FriendDetail *profileDetailPicture = [[FriendDetail alloc] initWithNibName: @"FriendDetail" bundle: nil]; [profileDetailPicture view]; profileDetailPicture.profileImage.image= transferImage; profileDetailPicture.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleCrossDissolve; [self presentModalViewController:profileDetailPicture animated:YES]; [profileDetailPicture release]; } } In FriendDetail.h NSString nameString; IBOutlet UILabel *profileName; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *profileName; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *nameString; In FriendDetail.m - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; profileName.text=nameString; } nameString in second controller(FriendDetail) returns nil. When i set a breakpoint in firstcontroller I see the string inside of nameString is correct but after that it returns to nil somehow.

  • Unexpected Html.EditorFor behavior in ASP.NET MVC 2

    - by NickLarsen
    I am getting some unexpected behavior from Html.EditorFor(). I have this controller: [HandleError] public class HomeController : Controller { [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Get)] public ActionResult Lister() { string[] values = { "Hello", "world", "!!!" }; return View(values); } [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Lister(string[] values) { string[] newValues = { "Some", "other", "values" }; return View(newValues); } } And this is my view which is intended to work for both of these: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<string[]>" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="TitleContent" runat="server"> Lister </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2>Lister</h2> <% using (Html.BeginForm()) { %> <% foreach (string value in Model) { %> <%= value %><br /> <% } %> <%= Html.EditorForModel() %> <input type="submit" value="Append Dashes" /> <% } %> </asp:Content> And the problem is that when the post back is made from the view, it hits the correct action, but the text boxes still show the original hello world data while the foreach loop outputs the new values. It feels like something in ASP.NET is overriding my model values from updating the text boxes and they are just displaying the same old values. I found this issue while trying to learn EditorFor with an IEnumerable.
