    I'm using the exact code from the iPhone Application Programming Guide Multimedia Support to use AVAudioRecorder to record a file to the disk and then AVAudioPlayer to load and play that file. This is working fine in the simulator but is not working on the device. The file gets loaded (we can see the NSTimeInterval) but does not play (play returns false). After it didn't work with the sample code from the website, we tried changing to a bunch of different codecs with no success. And of course, the sound is on. Thanks a bunch.

  • Ado.Net Entity produces "namespace cannot be found"

    I've seen several possible solutions to this, but none have worked for me. After adding a ADO.NET Entity Data Model to my .Net Forms C# web project, I am unable to use it. Perhaps I made a mistake adding it? The name of the file added is QcFormData.edmx. In my code, perhaps I'm instantiating it incorrectly? I tried adding the line: QcFormDataContainer db = new QcFormDataContainer(); It appears in Intellisense, but when compiling I get the error : Error 13 The type or namespace name 'QcFormDataContainer' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) I've followed the suggestions that I found online that did not help: 1) made sure there is "using System.Data.Entity" 2) made sure the dll exists. 3) made sure the reference exists. 4) one post said use using System.Web.Data.Entity; but I do not see that available. What am I missing?   • Safari/Chrome (Webkit) - Cannot hide iframe vertical scrollbar

    Hello, I have an iframe on www.mydomain.com that points to support.mydomain.com (which is a CNAME to a foreign domain). I automatically resize the height of my iframe so that the frame will not need any scrollbars to display the contained webpage. On Firefox and IE this works great, there is no scrollbar since I use <iframe ... scrolling="no"></iframe>. However, on webkit browsers (Safari and Chrome), the vertical scrollbar persists even when there is sufficient room for the page without the scrollbar (the scrollbar is grayed out). How do I hide the scrollbar for webkit browsers? Thanks, Ken

  • Exception calling UpdateModel - Value cannot be null or empty

    This is probably something silly I'm missing but I'm definitely lost. I'm using .NET 4 RC and VS 2010. This is also my first attempt to use UpdateModel in .NET 4, but every time I call it, I get an exception saying Value cannont be null or empty. I've got a simple ViewModel called LogOnModel: [MetadataType(typeof(LogOnModelMD))] public class LogOnModel { public string Username { get; set; } public string Password { get; set; } public class LogOnModelMD { [StringLength(3), Required] public object Username { get; set; } [StringLength(3), Required] public object Password { get; set; } } } My view uses the new strongly typed helpers in MVC2 to generate a textbox for username and one for the password. When I look at FormCollection in my controller method, I see values for both coming through. And last but not least, here's are post controller methods: // POST: /LogOn/ [HttpPost] public ActionResult Index(FormCollection form) { var lm = new LogOnModel(); UpdateModel(lm, form); var aservice = new AuthenticationService(); if (!aservice.AuthenticateLocal(lm.Username, lm.Password)) { ModelState.AddModelError("User", "The username or password submitted is invalid, please try again."); return View(lm); } return Redirect("~/Home"); } Can someone please lend some insight into why UpdateModel would be throwing this exception?     I'm trying to test for memory leaks in my iphone and I'm not having much luck getting rid of this one. The self.settingManager instance variable is released in the dealloc method of the class. I'm not sure what other information would be pertinent. Please let me know and I can provide it. Should I expect to see the other kinds in the datastore viewer? Currently, I only see UserAccount entities, but I'm pretty confident the other entities are there because my code is working as expected. Is this just a nuance of the datastore viewer?

  • Start developing a database application using Oracle + Net Beans

    I have thought of creating my first database application for one of my projects using Oracle and Java. I have chosen Netbeans as my development environment. I have a few questions to getting started. Please bare with me as I'm a complete beginner to Oracle + Netbeans This will be a data intensive (yet still for a college project) database application. I do not need 1000 user concurrency or any other very advanced features but basic stuff such as triggers, stored procedures etc. Will the 11g "Express" (XE) suffice for my requirements? Do i need any Java to Oracle bridge (database connectivity driver eg. ODBC etc) for Netbeans to connect to the oracle database? If yes, what are they? Does Netbeans support Oracle databases natively? Any easy to follow guide on how do i connect to the database and insert/retrieve/display data on a J2SE application? (I know that i should Google this but if there's any guide previously followed by anyone and is considered easy, it would be greatly appreciated.)

  • Rails 3 NameError (cannot remove Object::Version) error

    Can anyone point me at what might be causing this error? There is no ApplicationTrace, and it locks the server hard on my development machine. I think it has something to do with the way rails reloads your classes in development mode, and it appears to have something to do with a Version constant. I can't find a reference to this though.     We have a MVC 2.0 / c# 4.0 application that we develop visual studio. We have a part of the site (admin) that we have put in it's own sub directory and with its own routing rules: routes.Add("DomainRoute", new DomainRoute( ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["adminDomain"], // Domain with parameters "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "AdminPage", action = "Admin", id = "", isAdmin = true } We have all the views for the admin site inside an admin sub folder so that you get paths like: \views\admin\auth\login.aspx In the \controllers\admin\authController.aspx file I have a function called login: public ActionResult Login() { return View(); } This works just as it should, ie if i go admin.localhost\auth\login I go to the login page. But if I do a right click in visual studio and "go to view" i get an error "unable to go to matching view". Is there anyway to solve this?

    I am using MFC to write a GUI application. I chose dialog-based application, and put picture control, edit box and buttons on it. When the picture control is mapped to the class derived from CWnd using DDX_Control, all the message boxes (including default system message box pop up when you enter invalid input in the edit box) are hidden behind main dialog until you use "alt + tab" to bring them to front. If I map the picture control to the default CStatic class, the above problem disappeared. Do anyone has some hints to solve this problem? Thank you in advance for any help.

  • Cannot save model due to bad transaction? Django

    Trying to save a model in Django admin and I keep getting the error: Transaction managed block ended with pending COMMIT/ROLLBACK I tried restarting both the Django (1.2) and PostgreSQL (8.4) processes but nothing changed. I added "autocommit": True to my database settings but that didn't change anything either. Everything that Google has turned up has either not been answered or the answer involved not having records in the users table, which I definitely have. The model does not have a custom save method and there are no pre/post save signals tied to it. Any ideas or anything else I can provide to make answering this easier?
