• Developing Bots__Where can I start?

  i have a pet programming goal: to develop a bot for a game. Now, this won't be anything malicious, and I just want to do this to further my knowledge in programming. Can anyone help me out by pointing to where i can start learning how to develop a bot? the type of bots i want to make are video game bots (online multiplayer, first person shooters, and offline games(like solitaire and such)).   My friend has convinced me to start learning some C++, so my question is simple: where can I find some good tutorials for it? But please don't link me to the usual dry boring tutorials that only tells you the function syntax, I need more thorough explanations. In several places I found descriptions like this: "What’s special about I/O actions is that if they fall into the main function, they are performed." But in the following example, 'greet' never returns and therefore nothing should be printed. import Control.Monad main = greet greet = forever $ putStrLn "Hello World!" Or maybe I should ask: what does it mean to "fall into the main function"?

Ellipse(_board[row][column]).fill = getFill(row, column); _board is two dimensional array of Ellipse type, so I just dont understand why is Ellipse(Ellipse object) used when it apparently works without it, or I haven't seen any changes when I omitted it.

The books says that this binding can only be used for WCF services that will be called exclusively from the same machine. Under what circumstances would it make sense to use this?   I am from a Java background and is learning C++. I encountered the following C++ code: String source = String::New("'Hello' + ', World'"); As what I understand so far, this should be a call to static member function 'New' of class 'String'. But, I've searched through the whole header file defining 'String', there is not any static member named 'New' in the String class or its super classes. Is there any special meaning attached to String class or the New member function in C++?
