  • List DOM Documents attributes and methods using Javascript

    - by EddyR
Just wondering if it's possible to print and list all methods and attributes available to the DOM document itself using Javascript? So I would get something like so: Document.doctype Document.implementation Document.documentElement Document.createElement Document.createDocumentFragment Document.createTextNode Document.createComment Document.createProcessingInstruction etc... etc... I want to do this to test on different browsers and not have to wade through mountains technical documents from each vendor to get accurate information.

  • Searching via Tags in SharePoint 2010

    - by Ben
Is it possible to search on Tags within SharePoint 2010? I know you can refine your search based on Tag (Search for a keyword, then filter by Tags) and you can use the "Tag Cloud", but that doesnt let you search by more then one Tag. How would I for instance, search for some documents that I have tagged as "Technical" and "Internal", and return all items tagged with both of those tags?

  • What's the maximum number of operators you that can be used in an if statement?

    - by DMinGod
    Hi, i'm using jquery and I'm trying to validate a form. My question is - What is the maximum number of tests can you give in a single if statement. function cc_validate () { if ($("#name").val() == "" || $("#ship_name").val() == "" || $("#address").val() == "" || $("#city").val() == "" || $("#ship_city").val() == "" || $("#state").val() == "" || $("#ship_state").val() == "" || $("#postal_code").val() == "" || isNaN($("#postal_code").val()) || $("#phone").val() == "" || $("#ship_phone").val() == "" || isNaN($("#phone").val()) || isNaN($("#ship_phone").val()) || $("#mobile_number").val() == "" || $("#ship_mobile_number").val() == "" || isNaN($("#mobile_number").val()) || isNaN($("#ship_mobile_number").val()) || $("#email").val() == "") { return false; } else { return true; } }

  • TimeOuts with HttpWebRequest when running Selenium concurrently in .NET

    - by domsom
I have a download worker that uses ThreadPool-threads to download files. After enhancing these to apply some Selenium tests to the downloaded files, I am constantly experiencing TimeOut-exceptions with the file downloaders and delays running the Selenium tests. More precisely: When the program starts, the download threads start downloading and a couple of pages are seamlessly processed via Selenium Shortly after, the first download threads start throwing TimeOut exceptions from HttpWebRequest. At the same time, commands stop flowing to Selenium (as observed in the SeleniumRC log), but the thread running Selenium is not getting any exception This situation holds as long as there are entries in the download list: new download threads are being started and terminate after receiving TimeOuts (without trying to lock Selenium) As soon as no more download threads are being started, Selenium starts receiving commands again and the threads waiting for the lock are processed sequentially as designed Now here's the download code: HttpWebRequest request = null; WebResponse response = null; Stream stream = null; StreamReader sr = null; try { request = (HttpWebRequest) WebRequest.Create(uri); request.ServicePoint.ConnectionLimit = MAX_CONNECTIONS_PER_HOST; response = request.GetResponse(); stream = response.GetResponseStream(); // Read the stream... } finally { if (request != null) request.Abort(); if (response != null) response.Close(); if (stream != null) { stream.Close(); stream.Dispose(); } if (sr != null) { sr.Close(); sr.Dispose(); } } And this is how Selenium is used afterwards in the same thread: lock(SeleniumLock) { selenium.Open(url); // Run some Selenium commands, but no selenium.stop() } Where selenium is a static variable that is initialized in the static constructor of the class (via selenium.start()). I assume I am running into the CLR connection limit, so I added these lines during initalization: ThreadPool.GetMaxThreads (out maxWorkerThreads, out maxCompletionPortThreads); HttpUtility.MAX_CONNECTIONS_PER_HOST = maxWorkerThreads; System.Net.ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit = maxWorkerThreads + 1; The + 1 is for the connection to the SeleniumRC, due to my guess that the Selenium client code also uses HttpWebRequest. It seems like I'm still running into some kind of deadlock - although the threads waiting for the Selenium lock do not hold any resources. Any ideas on how to get this working?

  • Django Fancy String Diff During Test Execution in Console

    - by Koobz
Anyone know of any pre-existing tools out there what will highlight differences in output when running Django tests? I'm comparing some JSON output and it's tough to find things like extra spaces. I was about to just copy and paste this into an existing diff tool but I figured this might be on someone's radar.

  • Flex unit testing with ANT vs Flash Builder 4

    - by peterlindstrom21
I have just tried setup unit testing in Flash Builder 4, and it working nicely. A setup of a parallel test source structure and using Flash Builder 4:s new TestCase and new TestSuite I was up and running with some testcases within minutes. But now I want to compile them from a ant flex task, the Flash Builder generates FlexUnitApplication.mxml and FlexUnitCompilerApplication.mxml. Is there a nice way to build the unit tests with ant using these? I cant find any sample where this is done.

  • Rhino Mocks - Do we really need stubs?

    - by Marcelo Oliveira
If it's possible to change mock behaviour in Rhino Mocks using mock.Stub().Return(), why do we need Stubs anyway? What do we lose by always using MockRepository.GenerateMock()? One big benefit of using Mocks instead of Stubs is that we will be able to reuse the same instance among all the tests keeping them cleaner and straightforward. The moq framework works in a similar way... we don't have different objects for mocks and stubs. (please, don't answer with a link to Fowler's "Mocks aren't stubs" article)

  • var in C# - Why can't it be used as a member variable?

    - by David Neale
Why is it not possible to have implicitly-typed variables at a class level within C# for when these variables are immediately assigned? ie: public class TheClass { private var aList = new List<string>(); } Is it just something that hasn't been implemented or is there a conceptual/technical reason for why it hasn't been done?

  • Monodroid and CI-Servers

    - by Tobias Schittkowski
I would like to automate my test and release process of my Monodroid app via Jenkins. I found some infos for using Jenkins with "normal" Android projects: https://jenkins-ci.org/content/getting-started-building-android-apps-hudson http://androiddevresources.com/blog/2012/04/01/building-an-android-app-with-jenkins/ Has anyone experience on building a Monodroid app on Jenkins and running nunit tests? Are there some ready-to-modify scripts?

  • C# Visual Studio Unit Test, Mocking up a client IP address

    - by Jimmy
Hey guys, I am writing some unit tests and I'm getting an exception thrown from my real code when trying to do the following: string IPaddress = HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostName.ToString(); Is there a way to mock up an IP address without rewriting my code to accept IP address as a parameter? Thanks!

  • Getting row right after insert returns no result

    - by Peekyou
I am running unit tests and when I try to insert data in the database and getting it right after, I don't get anything (I have tried with DataAdapter and DataReader). However when I put a 3 seconds sleep (even with 1 second it doesn't work...) between the insert and the select I get the result. In SQL Server Profiler I can see the execution, the insert is well done and is completed about 10 miliseconds before the select begins. I can't find out where this comes

  • Unit testing ASP.NET Code behind.

    - by user102533
I've been reading about MVC in which the authors suggest that testability is one of the major strengths of MVC. They go to compare it with ASP.NET WebForms and how difficult it is to test the code behind in WebForms. I do understand it's difficult but can someone explain how unit tests were written to test code behind logic in the old days?

  • What version of Apache HTTP Client is bundled in Android 1.6?

    - by Benju
I want to have a seperate project that runs my server communication code in a normal JVM for the purposes of integration testing. This code uses these libraries which are build into the Android Framework... http://developer.android.com/reference/org/apache/http/client/package-summary.html Does anybody know what version of Apache HTTP Client this is supposed to be? I want to run it without the Android tests which are painfully slow.

  • How can I improve the recursion capabilities of my ECMAScript implementation?

    - by ChaosPandion
    After some resent tests I have found my implementation cannot handle very much recursion. Although after I ran a few tests in Firefox I found that this may be more common than I originally thought. I believe the basic problem is that my implementation requires 3 calls to make a function call. The first call is made to a method named Call that makes sure the call is being made to a callable object and gets the value of any arguments that are references. The second call is made to a method named Call which is defined in the ICallable interface. This method creates the new execution context and builds the lambda expression if it has not been created. The final call is made to the lambda that the function object encapsulates. Clearly making a function call is quite heavy but I am sure that with a little bit of tweaking I can make recursion a viable tool when using this implementation. public static object Call(ExecutionContext context, object value, object[] args) { var func = Reference.GetValue(value) as ICallable; if (func == null) { throw new TypeException(); } if (args != null && args.Length > 0) { for (int i = 0; i < args.Length; i++) { args[i] = Reference.GetValue(args[i]); } } var reference = value as Reference; if (reference != null) { if (reference.IsProperty) { return func.Call(reference.Value, args); } else { return func.Call(((EnviromentRecord)reference.Value).ImplicitThisValue(), args); } } return func.Call(Undefined.Value, args); } public object Call(object thisObject, object[] arguments) { var lexicalEnviroment = Scope.NewDeclarativeEnviroment(); var variableEnviroment = Scope.NewDeclarativeEnviroment(); var thisBinding = thisObject ?? Engine.GlobalEnviroment.GlobalObject; var newContext = new ExecutionContext(Engine, lexicalEnviroment, variableEnviroment, thisBinding); Engine.EnterContext(newContext); var result = Function.Value(newContext, arguments); Engine.LeaveContext(); return result; }

  • Cucumber and Silverlight 4

    - by weijiajun
So I am wondering if anyone is familiar or has done any work with cucumber and Silverlight. I currently have a template directory and build file that will create RSpec tests using Bacon (light weight RSpec). I have been looking into SpecFlow and Cuke2Nuke but almost everything I have seen works with general .net code not silverlight code. Thanks.

  • dynamic module creation

    - by intuited
I'd like to dynamically create a module from a dictionary, and I'm wondering if adding an element to sys.modules is really the best way to do this. EG context = { a: 1, b: 2 } import types test_context_module = types.ModuleType('TestContext', 'Module created to provide a context for tests') test_context_module.__dict__.update(context) import sys sys.modules['TestContext'] = test_context_module My immediate goal in this regard is to be able to provide a context for timing test execution: import timeit timeit.Timer('a + b', 'from TestContext import *') It seems that there are other ways to do this, since the Timer constructor takes objects as well as strings. I'm still interested in learning how to do this though, since a) it has other potential applications; and b) I'm not sure exactly how to use objects with the Timer constructor; doing so may prove to be less appropriate than this approach in some circumstances. EDITS/REVELATIONS/PHOOEYS/EUREKAE: I've realized that the example code relating to running timing tests won't actually work, because import * only works at the module level, and the context in which that statement is executed is that of a function in the testit module. In other words, the globals dictionary used when executing that code is that of main, since that's where I was when I wrote the code in the interactive shell. So that rationale for figuring this out is a bit botched, but it's still a valid question. I've discovered that the code run in the first set of examples has the undesirable effect that the namespace in which the newly created module's code executes is that of the module in which it was declared, not its own module. This is like way weird, and could lead to all sorts of unexpected rattlesnakeic sketchiness. So I'm pretty sure that this is not how this sort of thing is meant to be done, if it is in fact something that the Guido doth shine upon. The similar-but-subtly-different case of dynamically loading a module from a file that is not in python's include path is quite easily accomplished using imp.load_source('NewModuleName', 'path/to/module/module_to_load.py'). This does load the module into sys.modules. However this doesn't really answer my question, because really, what if you're running python on an embedded platform with no filesystem? I'm battling a considerable case of information overload at the moment, so I could be mistaken, but there doesn't seem to be anything in the imp module that's capable of this. But the question, essentially, at this point is how to set the global (ie module) context for an object. Maybe I should ask that more specifically? And at a larger scope, how to get Python to do this while shoehorning objects into a given module?
