  • Flex having a VBox with Vertical Buttons.

    - by James_Dude
Hi I am trying to get a left hand like panel bar in my application, one much like the OneNote left hand(notebook) panel. I have been trying to use a VBox with Buttons and setting the rotation on the buttons to 90. The buttons seem to disappear when I do this. An example of what I am trying to achieve is here: http://www.rid00z.net/panelBarExample.png What is the best way to achieve Vertically stacked buttons like this?

  • Why is graphical emacs so ugly?

    - by Michael Gummelt
Every hacker I know uses terminal emacs. Graphical emacs is hideous. The default text is huge and out of place, and the borders are much bigger and blockier than in any other application. Everything I've read about switching the font is confusing and completely different than the font selection used by other applications (I'm on Ubuntu). Does anyone actually use graphical emacs (vs -nw)? If so, how do you make it bearable?

  • Would it make sense to have a separate Scala library in Android market?

    - by soc
As far as I understand it is necessary for people using Scala for Android applications to bundle the Scala classes they used with their application. Considering this adds hundreds of kilobytes to each Scala app redundantly, would it be possible to build a Scala library which can be delivered over the market, so app writers can just depend on that library instead of bundling it themselves?

    - by kimo
Hi All, I want to know if I can find/reach UI components of running application under Android OS. it is possible to catch the Button/DDL/.. that was clicked by the user in real-time, example from other subject(web): In browser I can listen to the events and catch the DOM object that was clicked, in this way I can save the DOM object data. catching UI components that was changed by the user will give the option to save UI componentdata, and to perform the user actions automatic. Thanks.

  • SQL Server Query with "ELSE:"

    - by Mike D
I have various VB6 projects I'm maintaining with some of the queries being passed to the server having "ELSE:" with the colon used in case statements. I'm wondering can someone tell me what the **ll the colon is used for? It causes errors in SQL2005 and greater, but SQL2000 works with no complaints. I'd like to just remove it from the code & re-compile, but I'm afraid it'll break 10 other things in the application.. Thanks in advance...

    - by Skuta
Hi, I'm developing an applciation using SQL Compact database in Visual Studio 2008. When I start the application and run the process, the data is being loaded into database for few hours worth of few tens of megabytes. However, when I quite debugging, change something in code (not in DB structure), run the project again, the database is erased. Does anyone know how to prevent this behavior? I need the data to stay in DB to test on it.

  • Restricting Edit and Delete

    - by phleet
I want to be able to edit and delete resources myself, but not allow users of the application to do so. Is there an easy way of doing this in Rails? An incomplete solution would be just to remove the "delete" and "edit" buttons from the index view, but that doesn't disable their ability to do so via direct HTTP requests. Running Rails 2.2.2 and ruby 1.8.7
