  • Good authorize.net PHP libraries

    - by markwatson
I'm working on a PHP project and am looking for a good authorize.net gateway. I want something with mature code that's tested. The goal is to avoid writing and testing the entire thing myself based on the authorize.net api docs. Does anyone know of any good PHP libraries for this? I've search Google to no avail.

  • VS/C#: Can I be notified of every event that gets handled while debugging?

    - by Daniel I-S
I am currently troubleshooting a large and unwieldy GUI-based tool in Visual Studio, and was wondering whether there is any way to get some kind of notification (either by writing to the console or through a third-party tool) whenever any handled event occurs. This would make it a lot easier to track down what precisely is going on while I am interacting with this beast. Is there an 'on any event being handled' event I can handle, or some kind of add-in for VS which would make this possible?

  • compressed archive with quick access to individual file

    - by eric.frederich
I need to come up with a file format for new application I am writing. This file will need to hold a bunch other text files which are mostly text but can be other formats as well. Naturally, a compressed tar file seems to fit the bill. The problem is that I want to be able to retrieve some data from the file very quickly and getting just a particular file from a tar.gz file seems to take longer than it should. I am assumeing that this is because it has to decompress the entire file even though I just want one. When I have just a regular uncompressed tar file I can get that data real quick. Lets say the file I need quickly is called data.dat For example the command... tar -x data.dat -zf myfile.tar.gz ... is what takes a lot longer than I'd like. MP3 files have id3 data and jpeg files have exif data that can be read in quickly without opening the entire file. I would like my data.dat file to be available in a similar way. I was thinking that I could leave it uncompressed and seperate from the rest of the files in myfile.tar.gz I could then create a tar file of data.dat and myfile.tar.gz and then hopefully that data would be able to be retrieved faster because it is at the head of outer tar file and is uncompressed. Does this sound right?... putting a compressed tar inside of a tar file? Basically, my need is to have an archive type of file with quick access to one particular file. Tar does this just fine, but I'd also like to have that data compressed and as soon as I do that, I no longer have quick access. Are there other archive formats that will give me that quick access I need? As a side note, this application will be written in Python. If the solution calls for a re-invention of the wheel with my own binary format I am familiar with C and would have no problem writing the Python module in C. Idealy I'd just use tar, dd, cat, gzip, etc though. Thanks, ~Eric

  • Python: How do sets work

    - by Guy
I have a list of objects which I want to turn into a set. My objects contain a few fields that some of which are o.id and o.area. I want two objects to be equal if these two fields are the same. ie: o1==o2 if and only if o1.area==o2.area and o1.id==o2.id. I tried over-writing __eq__ and __cmp__ but I get the error: TypeError: unhashable instance. What should I over-write?

  • Apple script Editor, write message to the "Result" window

    - by Patrick
I am using the Mac OS X Apple Script Editor and (while debugging) instead of writing a lot of display dialog statements, I'd like to write the results of some calculation in the window below, called "Result" (I have the German UI here, so the translation is a guess). So is there a write/print statement that I can use for putting messages in the "standard out" window? I am not asking to put the messages in a logfile on the file system, it is purely temporary.

  • Unit Testing - not testable code converted to testable code

    - by imak
I have read so many places is that if your code is not test-able that mean code is not well written. So that makes me start writing a code that is test-able and to start using some unit testing framework. With this though I start looking for some example with piece of code that is not testable and gradually converted to a testable code. I find tons of examples on unit testing but if someone can provide an example like above it probably can jump start things for me. TIA

  • Display small form while main form is "locked"

    - by daemonsvk
Hi there, i'm thinking about writing a WPF program that would require login and password at the app startup. I thought about small form with two textboxes as a login form. User will have to fill in his details and then the main form of the application will be unlocked. How will you solve this? Thanks for your answers, daemonsvk

  • vba function, return from function

    - by Mike
I don't normally use VB, and even less vba for excel, but I'm writing a function inside a macro and seem to not understand even the basics of creating a function For example Public Function test() As Integer return 1 End Function This gives a compile error. This is profoundly stupid, but how do I make a function return an integer in vba?

  • Where to find prebuilt binaries for subversion 1.6 for Ubuntu (or Debian)?

    - by Andrea Francia
While I can easily find the binaries for the latest version of subversion (1.6) I can't find the binaries for Ubuntu (or Debian). The download page at tigris.org suggest to use the command: apt-get install subversion but as you can experience this will install up to the version 1.5.4 (at the time of writing May 6, 2009). This isn't a nice thing because many working copies that I share with Windows are automatically updated to 1.6 by TortoiseSVN.

  • How to know that a php project is using Zend framework?

    - by Wing C. Chen
I am writing a piece of small software to go through the folders and files of all the php projects that are passed in and detect if any of them is actually also a Zend project. Is there any particular file that I can immediately read and tell that the current project is a Zend project? or is there any convenient way to tell?

  • recursive_directory_iterator exception

    - by Jon
I'm writing a simple program which moves files on my desktop to new location. I don't understand why it crashes after the file has been moved. for(recursive_directory_iterator it(desktop), end; it != end; ++it) { if(it->path().leaf() == fileToMove) { rename(*it, newPath); } } A point in the right direction would be appropriated. Thanks!

  • Java ME right to left TextField label

    - by Nimrod Shory
Hello, I'm writing a Java ME app and i need the label for the text field to be right aligned.. I've tried setting the layout of the TextField to Item.RIGHT but it doesn't seem to affect anything when running on my test phone (Nokia E71). The text inside the TextField is right aligned and Lists and such items are desplayed correctly (RTL aligned) but the TextField label isn't. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • How do I compare two complex data structures?

    - by Phil H
I have some nested datastructures, each something like: [ ('foo', [ {'a':1, 'b':2}, {'a':3.3, 'b':7} ]), ('bar', [ {'a':4, 'd':'efg', 'e':False} ]) ] I need to compare these structures, to see if there are any differences. Short of writing a function to explicitly walk the structure, is there an existing library or method of doing this kind of recursive comparison?
