• Getting Line Numbers for Errors Thrown in SQL Server CLR Runtime

  Hi all, I've created a CLR stored procedure that I'm running on SQL 2k5 and I'm wondering if there's any way to get line numbers for exceptions thrown by the .NET code. When an Exception is thrown, I get something along the lines of Msg 6522, Level 16, State 1, Procedure myProcedure, Line 0 A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate "myProcedure": System.Exception: testing exception System.Exception: at DummyDLL.myProcedure (String dummyInput) . Is there some way I can load the assembly to give me specific line numbers rather than just the function in which the error was thrown? The assembly itself was compiled with a .pdb, but SQL 2k5 doesn't appear to be reading it in when I load the assembly initially. Thanks!

  Hi, I'm using ubuntu 8.10. I want to do benchmarking using autobench. I could install httperf by the command sudo apt-get install httperf I thought I should be installing autobench in the same way using apt-get. But the package was not found. Can anybody please suggest me what should I be doing in order make this "autobench" command work for me in ubuntu? Any help in this regard will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  If i have file for eg: a log file created by any background process on unix, how do i view the data that getting updated each and every time. i know that i can use tail command to see the file.but let's say i have used tail -10 file.txt it will give the last 10 lines.but if lets say at one time 10 lines got added and at the next instance it has been added 2 lines. now from the tail command i can see previous 8 lines also.i don't want this.i want only those two lines which were added. In short i want to view only those lines which were appended.how can i do this?

  MacOS version : 10.7.2 ( lion ) Doxygen version : 1.7.5.1 Graphviz version : 2.29 Doxygen configuration - DOT_PATH = ../../../../Applications/Contents/MacOS/Graphviz HAVE_DOT = YES SHORT_NAMES = YES From the log console - First line it gives a warning - warning: the dot tool could not be found at ../../../../Applications/Contents/MacOS/Graphviz - I have tried various combinations but the warning does not go , although it generates the images. Generating dot graphs using 9 parallel threads... Running dot for graph 1/68 sh: dot: command not found Problems running dot: exit code=127, command='dot', arguments='"/Users/salilk/Documents/project/DoxygenDocs/html/a00033.dot" -Tpng -o "/Users/salilk/Documents/project/DoxygenDocs/html/a00033.png"' In the html directory the .dot files have been generated but no .png. Now if I execute the same command from the Terminal the .png file gets generated and is displayed in its .html file. Another error from the console is - error: problems opening map file /Users/salilk/Documents/A2O Collaborate/DoxygenDocs/html/a00032.map for inclusion in the docs! If you installed Graphviz/dot after a previous failing run, try deleting the output directory and rerun doxygen. - Is this related to the above problem ? I have used Doxygen before on a Windows machine and didn't have these errors , do we need to do any configurations specific for Mac ? - Salil.

• Graphing a line and scatter points using Matplotlib?

  Hi guys I'm using matplotlib at the moment to try and visualise some data I am working on. I'm trying to plot around 6500 points and the line y = x on the same graph but am having some trouble in doing so. I can only seem to get the points to render and not the line itself. I know matplotlib doesn't plot equations as such rather just a set of points so I'm trying to use and identical set of points for x and y co-ordinates to produce the line. • Silverlight Line Graph with Gradient

  I have a series of points which I will turn into a line on a graph. What I want is to give the area under the graph a gradient fill. It would look somewhat similar to a Bloomberg graph like this; My question really has three parts; First, how should I fill only the area under the graph? Second, how do I fill that with a gradient? Finally, if I have multiple lines on the same graph any area under more than one line should have a greyscale gradient fill, how would you set this up? My biggest problem is deciding on the data structures to use, I could use many multiple sided shapes (One for each line/ data series) and then tell the brush to draw; Transparent if it's not in any shape The colour of one series if it's in one shape (Alpha relative to height to give grad) Black if it's in multiple shapes (Alpha relative to height to give grad) Then I'd draw the shapes' boundaries in white afterwards. • Cinema4D XML scene not rendering texture

  I was playing with the Cinema 4D command line options and ran into a problem that might not be specific to the command line options. I saved a basic scene(a textured cube) in two formats: the original .c4d(binary) format and .xml(Cinema 4D XML via File Export). the .c4d file renders with the texture applied, while the .xml file renders without the texture applied. I had a look at the xml file, and there is a node that holds a reference to the image used as texture, and there is another node which seems to store the pixels in xml. When I opened the .xml document in Cinema 4D, the document did store the material with the texture, but it was not applied to the object. Am I missing something when I export to XML ? How can I export a Cinema 4D XML that can render with the texture applied ?

• How do I get the name of the newest file via the Terminal?

  I'm trying to create a macro for Keyboard Maestro for OS X doing the following: Get name of newest file in a directory on my disk based on date created; Paste the text "newest file: " plus the name of the newest file. One of its options is to "Execute a shell script", so I thought that would do it for 1. After Googling around a bit I came up with this: cd /path/to/directory/ ls -t | head -n1 This sorts it right, and returns the first filename. However, it also seems to includes a line break, which I do not want. As for 2: I can output the text "newest file: " with a different action in the app, and paste the filename behind that. But I'm wondering if you can't return "random text" + the outcome of the ls command. So my question is: can I do this only using the ls command? And how do I get just the name of the latest file without any linebreaks or returns?

  Wanted A command line HTML5 beautifier running under Linux. Input Garbled, ugly HTML5 code. Possibly the result of multiple templates. You don't love it, it doesn't love you. Output Pure beauty. The code is nicely indented, has enough line breaks, cares for it's whitespace. Rather than viewing it in a webbrowser, you would like to display the code on your website directly. Suspects tidy does too much (heck, it alters my doctype!), and it doesn't work well with HTML5. Maybe there is a way to make it cooperate and not alter anything? vim does too little. It only indents. I want the program to add and remove line breaks, and to play with the whitespace inside of tags. DEAD OR ALIVE!

• What's so bad about in-line CSS?

  When I see website starter code and examples, the CSS is always in a separate file, named something like "main.css", "default.css", or "Site.css". However, when I'm coding up a page, I'm often tempted to throw the CSS in-line with a DOM element, such as by setting "float: right" on an image. I get the feeling that this is "bad coding", since it's so rarely done in examples. I understand that if the style will be applied to multiple objects, it's wise to follow "Don't Repeat Yourself" (DRY) and assign it to a CSS class to be referenced by each element. However, if I won't be repeating the CSS on another element, why not in-line the CSS as I write the HTML? The question: Is using in-line CSS considered bad, even if it will only be used on that element? If so, why? Example (is this bad?): <img src="myimage.gif" style="float:right" />

  When I write a comment, it's often a paragraph or a few lines that explains clearly what a bit of code is doing and why it's doing that. What I'd like is if I could start a comment, and have the editor automatically insert a line break and continue the comment to the nest line when I reach, say, 80 characters long. So I'd type: // Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. < here the editor breaks automatically and continues onto the next line: // Etiam congue quam eget leo dignissim tincidunt.

• Rewinding std::cout to go back to the beginning of a line

  I'm writing a command-line tool for Mac OS X that processes a bunch of files. I would like to show the user the current file being processed, but do not want a bazillion files polluting the terminal window. Instead I would like to use a single line to output the file path, then reuse that line for the next file. Is there a character (or some other code) to output to std::cout to accomplish this? Also, if I wanted to re-target this tool for Windows, would the solution be the same for both platforms?

• Issue with Visual C++ 2010 (Express) External Tools command

  I posted this on SuperUser...but I was hoping the pros here at SO might have a good idea about how to fix this as well.... Normally we develop in VS 2005 Pro, but I wanted to give VS 2010 a spin. We have custom build tools based off of GNU make tools that are called when creating an executable. This is the error that I see whenever I call my external tool: ...\gnu\make.exe): * couldn't commit memory for cygwin heap, Win32 error 487 The caveat is that it still works perfectly fine in VS2005, as well as being called straight from the command line. Also, my external tool is setup exactly the same as in VS 2005. Is there some setting somewhere that could cause this error to be thrown?

• Windows batch file to list folders that have a specific file in them

  I'm trying to create a file that has a list of directories that have a specific file name in them. Let's say I'm trying to find directories that have a file named *.joe in them. I initially tried just a simple dir /ad *.joe > dir_list.txt , but it searches the directory names for *.joe, so no go. Then I concluded that a for loop was probably my best bet. I started with for /d /r %a in ('dir *.joe /b') do @echo %a >> dir_list.txt and it looked like it wasn't executing the dir command. I added the "usebackq", but that seems to only work for the /F command extension. Ideas?

  Hi, I'm trying to read a file which has only CR as line delimiter. I'm using Mac OS X and Perl v.5.8.8. This script should run on every platform, for every kind of line delimiter (CR, LF, CRLF).   I want to split a 400k line long log file from a particular line number. For this question, lets make this an arbitrary number 300k. Is there a linux function that allows me to do this? I know split lets me split the file in equal parts either by size or line numbers but that's not what I want. I want to the first 300k in one file and the last 100k in the second file.   We're considering migrating a WinForms app to WPF, but are just starting on the WPF learning curve now that 4.0 is out. What I'd like to do is migrate our application commands (cut, copy, paste, etc) to a WPF-like command-binding system, while still running as a WinForms app - but in such a way as to make the migration easy when we go ahead with WPF. The ideal approach would be to implement our commands using the WPF command interfaces, classes and events directly, and simply hooking the WinForms events up to them with our own dispatcher. Has anyone tried something like this or know if it might be possible?

  Hi SO community! I am drawing graphs into a WinForms Picturebox. Now I am searching for a possibility to 'duplicate' a line (an array of points), so that the two resulting lines are positioned a fixed distance away from the original one. Like in this picture, I have the red line and want to get the black ones: I thought about just moving the line a few pixels up/right/up-right, but that leads to strange overlapping lines. Is there any other approach that does what I want? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
