  • Getting a list of all children of a given commit

    I'd like to run git filter-branch on all children of a given commit. This doesn't seem to be an easy task, since there doesn't appear to be a way to tell git rev-list to only return children of a particular commit. Using the .. syntax won't work because it will also include the parent commits of any merge within that range. Am I missing something here?

    here is the line i'm trying to parse [\\?\Volume{d3f7f470-526b-11df-92eb-001a647802d2}\] 85 90 NotFound I'm basically just trying to get the numbers that are outside of the brackets and ignore anything in between the brackets. My original syntax worked until I realized that sometimes there would be numbers in the brackets (I was just using "([0-99]{2})") any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Hi I am using visual studios 2010 and created a javascript file(jscript.js) and I saw on one page saying you can make constant variables in javascript like: const x = 20; bu to on another page I read it says you can't. So I am confused now what is it now? Also in Visual studios when I write "const" it underlines it in the javascript file and goes syntax error.

    Doesn't prepare() escape any quotes(') in a PDO statement? For some reason when I do this: $sql = "INSERT INTO sessions (id, name) VALUES (1,'O'brian')"; $query = $this->connection->prepare($sql); $query->execute(); I get this error: Could not insert record SQLSTATE[42000]: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near 'brian'. How could this be if I'm using prepare()?

    The line cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); cmd.CommandText CREATE TRIGGER subscription_trig_0 ON subscription AFTER INSERT AS UPDATE user_data SET msg_count=msg_count+1 FROM user_data JOIN INSERTED ON user_data.id = INSERTED.recipient; The exception: Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'TRIGGER'. Then using VS 2010, connected to the very same file (a mdf file) i run the query above and i get a success message. WTF!

    I'm have a number rows I'm inserting into a table using -insertRowsAtIndexPaths:withRowAnimation, and I would like the rows to be indented from the left to distinguish them from the rest of the cells. The indentationLevel property of UITableViewCell looks like it's exactly what I need, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Here's the code I'm using to set the indentation level (dot syntax doesn't make a difference): [cell setIndentationWidth:10]; [cell setIndentationLevel:1]; Is indentationLevel what I want, or should I be looking elsewhere?

  • Can I update an Android provider.Settings.System value?

    I can read settings like this, for example: final String mytest = System.getString(this.getContentResolver(), System.AIRPLANE_MODE_ON); ...but can't seem to write to settings using putString, no matter what I've tried. Maybe it is the scope of this.getContentResolver()??? I'm a newbie, so who knows, maybe it can't be done, or it's just syntax? Currently the code is in the onCreate of an Activity class.     I know I can do an out of band Post request with Jquery and the $.post( syntax. However, I'm interested to know if it is possible for jquery to cause a post request on the whole page (as when a form is submitted) so that a brand new page is loaded. Is this possible?     what is the syntax (i.e. code example) in Lua so you can call a function prior to it being defined? i.e. how do you kind of create the function, but then add it's implementation further down in code. So roughly like this: define function name (doX) here somehow (i.e. subject of this question) call doX here (further down in the code) doX implemention here (i.e. all functions down at the bottom of the file)

  • Explicit Event add/remove, misunderstood?

    I've been looking into memory management a lot recently and have been looking at how events are managed, now, I'm seeing the explicit add/remove syntax for the event subscription. I think it's pretty simple, add/remove just allows me to perform other logic when I subscribe and unsubscribe? Am I getting it, or is there more to it?
