• Setting the default jsp view with spring mvc

  I want to set one of jsp files in my jsps folder as the default view for the application. Is there any way we can tell in that abc.jsp needs to be default and it can be found in such and such path. Also the url pattern is html so is there a way it can be mapped in Spring MVC. For example - When a user types www.example.com , I want the application to direct to abc.jsp page and also when someone types www.example.com/something, even then application should direct to abc.jsp, but the url pattern shouldnt be compromised.   Given an associative array (of the sort returned by jQuery.serializeArray()) like this: [ { 'name': 'abc', 'value': 'aaa', '__proto__': [Object] }, { 'name': 'def', 'value': 'bbb', '__proto__': [Object] }, { 'name': 'abc', 'value': 'ccc', '__proto__': [Object] } ] How can one convert this, using either jQuery or just javascript, to an associative array of name: [values] like this: { 'abc': ['aaa', 'ccc'], 'def': ['bbb'] } This seems to essentially be the inverse of this question: Build associative array based on values of another associative array... but in Javascript (not PHP). • window.opener.document.getElementById not working

  In my asp.net web app, I create a popup window with a button. When that button is clicked, I want to set the value of an asp:TextBox (id=TextBox1) contained in the parent window. However, it doesn't work like all the examples I've read indicate. I've tried the following lines of code in my javascript onclick handler: window.opener.document.getElementById('<%= TextBox1.ClientID %').value = "abc"; window.opener.document.getElementById("TextBox1").value = "abc"; window.opener.document.getElementById("ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_TextBox1").value = "abc"; Only example 3 works. All the stuff I've read indicates that #1 is the preferred method, but I can't seem to make it work at all. Does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I've tried this in Firefox, Chrome and IE. • Why can't sub-packages see package private classes?

  Okay so, I have this project structure: package A.B class SuperClass (this class is marked package private) package A.B.C class SubClass (inherits from super class) I'd rather not make SuperClass publicly visible... It is really just a utility class for this specific project (A.B). It seems to me that SubClass should be able to see SuperClass, because package A.B.C is a subpackage of A.B... but this is not the case. What would be the best way to resolve this issue? I don't think it makes sense to move everything in A.B.C up to A.B or move A.B down to A.B.C... mainly because there will probably be an A.B.D which inherits from stuff in A.B as well... I'm a bit new to Java, so be nice :D (I'm a C++ and .NET guy)

• R how to find NA values after using addNA function

  I have a data frame with a bunch of categorical variables. Some of them contain NA's and I use the addNA function to convert them to an explicit factor level. My problem comes when I try to treat them as NA's they don't seem to register. • Double encoded url being fully decoded in ASP.NET

  I have just come across something that is quite strange and yet I haven't found any mention on the interwebs of others having the same problem. If I hit my ASP.NET application with a double encoded url then the Request["myQueryParam"] will do a double decode of the query for me. This is not desirable as I have double encoded my query string for a good reason. Can others confirm I'm not doing something obviously wrong, and why this would happen. A solution to prevent it, without doing some nasty query string parsing, would be great too! As an example if you hit the url: http://localhost/MyApp?originalUrl=http%3a%2f%2flocalhost%2fAction%2fRedirect%3fUrl%3d%252fsomeUrl%253futm_medium%253dabc%2526utm_source%253dabc%2526utm_campaign%253dabc (For reference %25 is the % symbol) Then look at the Request["originalUrl"] (page or controller) the string returned is: http://localhost/Action/Redirect?Url=/someUrl?utm_medium=abc&utm_source=abc&utm_campaign=abc I would expect: http://localhost/Action/Redirect?Url=%2fsomeUrl%3futm_medium%3dabc%26utm_source%3dabc%26utm_campaign%3dabc I have also checked in Fiddler and the URL is being passed to the server correctly (one possible culprit could have been the browser decoding the URL before sending).

• Can't read query string if default index file name is omitted?

  Is there an issue with IIS or ASP Classic where *Request.ServerVariables("QUERY_STRING")* returns blank if no default file name is given in the URL? On my local developer machine, I can do http://localhost/xslt/?opcs/abc which returns "opcs/abc". However, on our ancient web server, it returns nothing. I have to explicitly give it the default file name in the URL. Like so http://localhost/xslt/default.asp?opcs/abc While nothing too major, it is a little bit of a annoyance. One way I can maybe think of remidying the problem is have Javascript read the URL and return everything after the ?. Unfortunately, I do not know what version of IIS or ASP we are using. Thank you.

I can do this rather well with a tabular: \begin{tabular}{l l} abc & def \\ ghi & jkl \\ \end{tabular} But doing so makes it rather difficult and time consuming to reorder the list. Is it possible to have an automatically wrapped two-column list? Ideally, I would like to simply enter an ordered list: \begin{magic} abc \\ def \\ ghi \\ jkl \\ \end{magic} And have it wrapped to two columns (as the tabular enables): abc def ghi jkl

  Hi, I am using Ant script to generate javadoc and I just only wnt Ant to look for some classes based on a certain pattern, so I wrote: <javadoc access="public" source="1.6" sourcepath="src" destdir="dest" > <fileset dir="src" casesensitive="yes" defaultexcludes="yes"> <filename name="**/ABC*.java"/> </fileset> </javadoc> That means I only want Ant to look for source file that starts with "ABC" only and generate javadoc for these files. However, the results are awayls duplicate for each file starting with "ABC". Did I do something wrong? Thanks

• Maximum number of files one ext3 directory while still getting acceptable performance?

  I have an application writing to an ext3 directory which over time has grown to roughly three million files. Needless to say, reading the file listing of this directory is unbearably slow. I don't blame ext3. The proper solution would have been to let the directory write to sub-directories such as ./a/b/c/abc.ext rather than just ./abc.ext. I'm changing to such a sub-directory structure and my question is simply: roughly how many files should I expect to store in one ext3 directory while still getting acceptable performance? Or in other words; assuming that I need to store three million files in the structure, how many levels deep should the ./a/b/c/abc.ext structure be? Obviously this is a question that cannot be answered exactly, but I'm looking for a ball park estimate.

• How to replace "(" with "\(" in the regexp, Emacs/elisp flavor?

  Question as title. More specifically, I'm rather tired of having to type \(, etc. every time I want a parenthesis in Emacs's (interactive) regexp functions (not to mention the \\( in code). So I wrote something like (defadvice query-replace-regexp (before my-query-replace-regexp activate) (ad-set-arg 0 (replace-regexp-in-string "(" "\\\\(" (ad-get-arg 0))) (ad-set-arg 0 (replace-regexp-in-string ")" "\\\\)" (ad-get-arg 0))))) in hope that I can conveniently forget about emacs's idiosyncrasy in regexp during "interaction mode". Except I cannot get the regexp right... (replace-regexp-in-string "(" "\\\\(" "(abc") gives \\(abc instead of the wanted \(abc. Other variations on the number of slashes just gives errors. Thoughts? Since I started questioning, might as well ask another one: since lisp code is not supposed to use interactive functions, advicing query-replace-regexp should be okay, am I correct?

  I am working on python and biopython right now. I have a file upload form and whatever file is uploaded suppose(abc.fasta) then i want to pass same name in execute (abc.fasta) function parameter and display function parameter (abc.aln). Right now i am changing file name manually, but i want to have it automatically. Workflow goes like this. ----If submit is not true then display only header and form part --- if submit is true then call execute() and get file name from form input --- Then display the save file result in the same page.   Hi, C bothers me with its handling of strings. I have a pseudocode like this in my mind: char *data[20]; char *tmp; int i,j; for(i=0;i<20;i++) { tmp = data[i]; for(j=1;j<20;j++) { if(strcmp(tmp,data[j]))//then except the uniqueness, store them in elsewhere. } } But when i coded this the results were bad.(I handled all the memory stuff,little things etc.) The problem is in the second loop obviously :D. But i cannot think any solution. How do i find unique strings in an array. Example input : abc def abe abc def deg entered unique ones : abc def abe deg should be found.

  Let's say I have a C# method public void CheckXYZ(int xyz) { // do some operation with side effects } Elsewhere in the same class is another method public int GetCheckedXYZ(int xyz) { int abc; // functionally equivalent operation to CheckXYZ, // with additional side effect of assigning a value to abc return abc; // this value is calculated during the check above } Is it necessarily bad style to refactor this by removing the CheckXYZ method, and replacing all existing CheckXYZ() calls with GetCheckedXYZ(), ignoring the return value? The returned type isn't IDisposable in this case. Does it come down to discretion?
