  • C# modify a config file for a windows service

    I have a windows service that reads from a config file. I need to modify this config file prior to the application starting. How can I create a GUI that would handle the changes to the config file. I know that a service does not have a GUI per se, but I really just need something to modify some strings in the config file and then start the service.

    Hi, When I use this to write to my app.config file: Configuration config =ConfigurationManager.OpenExeConfiguration(ConfigurationUserLevel.None); config.AppSettings.Settings["Wachtwoord"].Value = "Test"; config.Save(); ConfigurationManager.RefreshSection("appSettings"); I can read it again. But when i close and restart the program, the value of "Wachtwoord" has changed again to the old value. Does anybody how I could fix this? Thanks

  • Network config with pppoe and Ubuntu 13.10

    I have an internet connection that is using pppoe. In my windows I do not assign an ip address for my network and I am able to connect using password and username. I installed Ubintu 13.10 today, and I did pppoeconf, and I setup an ip/network mask and changed the mac address in the options, and I was able to connect to the Internet. I restarted the computer, and I got a message saying that the wired connection is not managed. Internet was not working. I went to network manager file, and I changed the option to true, but I still can't connect to the Internet. I am pretty new to linux. How can I get my Internet working? Thanks

    Sony VAIO with Insyde H2O EFI bios will not boot into GRUB EFI The answer to this question was immensely helpful to me and my new Vaio Z3. The issue that I am having now is that after replacing bootmgfw.efi with grubx64.efi and renaming, it boots directly to grub console. I dont even get a menu where i can chose ubuntu. I tried putting a grub.cfg file next to the new bootmgfw.efi(grubx64.efi), no go? Any ideas how i can get the renamed grubx64.efi to find all the rest of the grub stuff outside of the ESP in my linux parition? Or do i have to move all grub files to /EFI/Microsoft/Boot on ESP? But I'm unable to change the server's configuration (like loglevel) stored in cn=config because I don't seem to have a valid user/password for the backend?   • Issue with Reporting Services - rsreportserver.config is denied

    Error message is 'd:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config' is denied.' I open SSRS configuration and I do see the service as started and running. I gave Network Services the necessary permissions in the reportserver folder and config file. SQL Server and SSRS are using LocalSystem as the 'Log On As' in Sql server configuration manager. Most of my sites I googled seem only relevant when it's Network Service running. I changed it to log on as NT Autority\NetworkService but still had the same issue. In SSRS Config Manager, I see that Web Service Identity is not configured (red), though it is showing as readonly domain\aspnet. Windows Server 2003 R2 and SSRS 2005

  • esxi 5.1 - copy paste host config doesn't work?

    I followed these instructions for esxi 5.1 to enable copy paste from the host config. (search for "To enable this option for all the virtual machines in the ESX/ESXi host:") http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1026437 But copy and paste doesn't work for new VMs or existing VMs. Did I do something wrong somewhere?     I installed Ubuntu 12.04 in my Ideapad S100 it look seem perfect after I installed it, but when i tried to connect my phone via bluetooth, i cannot enable the slide button in the Bluetooth setting and it keeps returning back to "OFF" and the visible button is also in Disable mode. I already tried other solution like installing Blueman, re-write code such as rfkill bluetooth and this echo disable /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth. It still doesn't work at all, and regarding to my Wi-Fi i don't have any issue on it.

    Apparently, I shouldn't have spent sleepless night trying to debug an application. I wanted to restart my nginx and discovered that its config file is empty. I don't remember truncating it, but fat fingers and reduced attention probably played their part. I don't have backup of that config file. I know I should have made it. Good for me, current nginx daemon is still running. Is there a way to dump its configuration to a config file that it'll understand later?

  • Binfmt config not persisting after booting

    I have the binfmt kernel module set up so I can run .NET apps as if they were native binaries. I have the /etc/rc.local file configured identically to this. If I power down my computer or boot into Windows, when I come back to Ubuntu, I can't run .NET apps without calling Mono. However, if I simply touch /etc/rc.local and restart, the binfmt configuration appears to kick in and I can run my .NET EXE's as I expect to. How do I get my configuration to stick?

    I was going through one article here and the topic was "Changing the Size and Appearance of the Unity Launcher" which required to open up CompizConfig from System Settings -- Desktop. I could find System Settings and could reach to control panel but cannot locate either Desktop or CompizConfig. When i go to Software center and search for compizconfig, it says that it is already installed.But when i search it from the list of installed applications, i couldn't find it.??
