• Qmail does not forward mail to a specific domain

  Hi I have a dedicated hosting account with GoDaddy.com. I've pointed my domain's email to work with Google apps. The server has qmail running and it forwards email to all domains just fine except for MY domain (mydomain.com) - it says 550 User xxx not found in mydomain.com I believe it thinks I've hosted email on the server itself (not gmail) and it's trying to validate if [email protected] exists on my server (which is not the case since it's all handled by google apps). How do I make it forward mail to all domains? Thank you :) EDIT: I would only need it forwarding emails if the connection originates from 127.0.0.1 - which I believe is the default way it's configured. So to clarify: I just need a purely forwarded configuration so my PHP scripts have the ability to send email.

• API Wordpress & Inksoft

  I am new to this whole website design and API bit. My husband has bought a license for the program InkSoft. Their site does not offer very much customization, so we decided to buy a Wordpress.org site that is hosted through godaddy. With all of that said, I am trying to figure out a way to take the products that are on InkSoft's website, which get their information from the suppliers' warehouses (for things like inventory), and put them on the Wordpress site. There is an area on InkSoft where I can access "Store API...API feeds." I guess I am just confused on where to put this type of stuff in the WordPress site or how to put it in there? If I go to the "Products" area on this Store API, I am given a URL that deals with the product stuff and I am also given a HUGE list of stuff that contains stuff such as: < ProductCategoryList < vw_product_categories product_category_id="1000076" name="Most Popular" path="Most Popular" thumburl_front="REPLACE_DOMAIN_WITH/images/publishers/2433/ProductCategories/Most_Popular/80.gif" / Can everyone give me directions on what and how to use all this stuff? • Domain points me to some malicious URL and I can't get rid of it

  Whenever I enter my URL into the browser, it keeps pointing me to http://fornax.myvnc.com/dev The URL doesn't even work and my antivirus doesn't complain about it so I am not sure what is happening. I logged into my domain manager at godaddy and it says that the nameservers are pointing to: NS46.DOMAINCONTROL.COM and I am not sure where this came from either because my hosting is with lunarpages whose nameserver is NS1.LUNARMANIA.COM I tried looking into my .htaccess and it is blank. My index.php was hijacked with some malicious code so I removed it completely. Everything is supposed to be normal now but still some kind of a redirection is taking place and am not sure where this is happening. Any suggestions?

• SQL Server Express 2005 cannot connect

  hi all, I have a SQL Server Express 2005 install on a godaddy virtual terminal which currently is only connected to(locally with mgt studio) every few days or so. Every time i try to connect I get a cannot connect to SQL Server error and after a restart it I can connect just fine locally. I was wondering if there is a timeout setting or something that I am missing that I need to change so that if it is not connected to for a while it does not required a restart? any ideas? thanks!

• How to Host Multiple Domains / Web Sites on one IIS6 Server

  I currently have an IIS6 server that hosts one web site/domain. I am developing another web site (completely separate) that I want to host on this same server. Both domains were purchased from GoDaddy. I believe I will need a server-side ISAPI rewrite filter to internally route the incoming requests based on the domain name. I plan to use Ionic's ISAPI Rewrite Filter to do this because it is free. I know how to install the ISAPI filter and apply it to a web site in IIS, but I have no clue how I am going to route the incoming requests correctly (based on the domain). Also, I don't know if it is wise to setup multiple "Web Sites" or "Virtual Directories". I am thinking that this will depend on how the configured. How should I go about getting this accomplished?

• Not receiving bounced emails from PHPList

  I am sending a test campaign to my own address and to a fictitious nonsense address and I am receiving the email at my account but I am not receiving any bounces. My settings in the config.php file are: $message_envelope = '[email protected]'; $bounce_protocol = 'pop'; $bounce_mailbox_host = 'localhost'; $bounce_mailbox_user = '[email protected]'; $bounce_mailbox_password = 'XXXXXX'; What's the next step in figuring out the problem? I also tried both variations of the following: $bounce_mailbox_port = "110/pop3/notls"; #$bounce_mailbox_port = "110/pop3"; I am running a Godaddy Centos 6 VPS and Plesk 11.

• Wildcard SSL Certificates with Exchange 2010?

  Is anyone using a Wildcard Cert with Exchange 2010 please? We currently have a bunch of individual whatever.domain.com SSL certificates and as several are expiring soon it would be an ideal opportunity to move to a wildcard certificate. At some point though we will be moving from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010, and I've read conflicting reports over whether wildcard certs work with Exchange 2010 as many guides seem to recommend a UCC/SAN certificate. Our internal DNS domain name is the same as our external domain name. Godaddy look like good VFM given they allow use on unlimited physical servers. Thanks in advance.

• DNS - domain conflict?

  I was given two domains: domain.com & domain.info (they are on GoDaddy). And I was also given two servers, 107.105.38.99 - Rails app and 107.107.90.17 - Wordpress platform, on Digital Ocean. At first, I was instructed to associate domain.com with the 107.107.38.99 (Rails app). Then I was instructed to de-associate this IP with domain.com and associated the 107.107.90.17 with the domain name domain.com. Then I was instructed to associated domain.info with the 107.107.38.99 (Rails app). Right now, when I go to domain.com the WordPress platform (107.107.90.17) loads fine and that is what is expected. But when I go to domain.info for the Rails app (107.107.38.99) I get redirected to domain.com. This is not expected and this is really weird for me. When I ping domain.info I get this: PING domain.info (107.107.38.99): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 107.107.38.99: icmp_seq=0 ttl=50 time=74.601 ms Which is the expected result showing the correct IP but I don't understand why I get redirected to domain.com...(which when I ping is:) domain 64 bytes from 107.107.90.17: icmp_seq=0 ttl=50 time=75.057 ms The PTR Records on Digital Ocean are as follows: IP Address PTR Record 107.107.38.99 domain.info. 107.107.90.17 domain.com. and the DNS configurations on Digital Ocean are: domain.com A: @ 107.107.90.17 CNAME: * @ domain.info A: @ 107.107.38.99 CNAME: * @ I am not sure what the issue is, if you have any clue please let me know, I will be really grateful. I am starting to think about how the accompanying website will be hosted and would greatly appreciate some advice. Requirements: Domain #1 Information about the project itself (just pages and pictures). Documentation / Wiki Forums Download of project source (approx 3MB archive) Download of various themes and community contributed content (est. sizes 10KB ~ 512KB). Domain #2 Primary company website that offers products and services. This will be primarily pictures and pages. What kind of web hosting would be best for a project like this. I am working on a very tight budget and can only afford to spend up to £250 per year for hosting this. I was considering using some sort of VPS hosting. • RemoteApp cannot connect to webapp

  I have just set up a Server 2008 R2 machine with Remote Desktop Services. It's all running on the one server, just for a single application, which works fine locally and when using Remote Desktop Web Access on the local network. However, when accessing it over the Internet, you can log on to RD Web Access fine, but when running the RemoteApp you get the message: RemoteApp Disconnected The remote computer could not be found. Please contact your helpdesk about this error. The application and all Remote Desktop services are on a single machine. I have purchased and installed a GoDaddy Cert. It works like a charm in the local network, but I get the above message when trying to access through rdweb How can I enable the RemoteApp to function outside the local network? I think there is one or 2 steps I left out??.. Please help...

• Configure IIS to rewrite IP Address to Site Name

  So i've started my first web site from home, and I'm trying to get it up and running and google crawlable and the like, but I can't seem to figure out how to have my site name returned in the address bar instead of my IP address. I've purchased a domain name for my site on Godaddy and then set it to redirect to my site. When you type in the domain name, you get redirected to http://0.0.0.0/default.aspx (not my real IP obviously), and that stays in the user's address bar. In order to fix that temporarily, I've set up masking on Go Daddy which keeps the URL in the address bar, but just shows my website in a frame. This is fine for users visiting the site, however any kind of automated robot such as GoogleBot cannot discover my content because of the frame. I've looked into ISAPI filters and server-site-rewriting, and the like... but I just can't quite figure out how to do what I need it to do. Any simple suggestions or links would be appreciated.

• I have a mail server that hosts several client emails but 1 in particular is being blocked because of its SBRS score

  If I was hosting emails for 3 clients and my reverse DNS is mail.allclients.com and I am hosting for client2.com, client3.com etc. What would be the rDNS for client3.com? Would it reflect the rDNS of mail.allclients.com? If so, I do I prevent mails from client3.com from being blocked because the PTR does not match rDNS? Finally on your advice to have my email service publish an SPF record. Is this something I need to submit to the company I registered my mail.allclients.com to? So I for example registered with GoDaddy.com then I will need to submit a request to them to publish an SPF record on their DNS right? Thank you for your advice and kind assistance. Vince Saavedra

• SQL Server 2008 Web edition in a hosting plan?

  Do any hosting companies offer SQL Server 2008 Web edition in a hosting plan. GoDaddy for instance offers Standard/Enterprise editions which raise the price by $200 or so a month. I've tried a few hosting companies and can't find the web edition available. Why not? The web edition is supposed to be only $15/month - but I was hoping to be able to get this pricing through a dedicated server and not have to go off and separately get the licensing. I don't even know if its possible to buy just one copy!?

• How to set up an SSL Cert with Subject Alternative Name

  To test a specific embedded client, I need to set up a web server serving a couple of SSL (HTTPS) sites, say "main.mysite.com" and "alternate.mysite.com". These should be handled by the same certificate, with a Subject Name of "main.mysite.com" and a Subject Alternative Name of "alternate.mysite.com". This certificate needs to be in an authority chain back to a 'proper' CA (such as GoDaddy, to keep the cost down). My question is, are there any good tutorials on how to do this, or can someone explain the process? What sort of parent certificate do I need to purchase from the CA provider? My understanding of SSL certificates is limited, but as Manuel said in Fawlty Towers, "I learn...". I'm happy to work in Windows (IIS) or Linux (Apache) (or even OSX, for that matter). • Setting up DNS in WHM/cPanel

  I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, but I'm sure this is a simple fix. I setup WHM/cPanel for the first time on my VPS and understand how DNS works for the most part (or so I thought). I created under the main domain name 2 nameservers (ns1.maindomain.com & ns2.maindomain.com). I have 2 IP address for my sever so each one points to a unique IP: ns1.maindomain.com => 198.x.x.204 ns2.maindomain.com => 198.x.x.205 I also set up reverse DNS with my hosting provider. When I put in my two nameservers under another domain (secondary domain), GoDaddy states that the nameservers are invalid. Any ideas on why this is or any configurations in cPanel that need to be made?

  Hi, we are using Fogbugz on our server to do customer support emails. Occasionally though we get errors coming back when sending emails of: 550 relay not permitted This seems to happen at random though, sometimes sending an email to a person works, next time to the same person it'll bounce back. I've tried setting up reverse DNS with the server host and creating the SPF record in GoDaddy but we still get some of these errors. Is there anything else I can do, and is there a way of testing these are actually configured correctly? Many thanks, Nick

• I need a relatively cheap host, which will be able to handle sudden peaks in traffic?

  Hello, We're launching a product in a few months, which will obviously have a website. Judging from our current traffic, we believe that overall traffic will probably not be that much, but we are aiming at promoting the site heavily using social media. This has the typical problem, that IF we get suddenly get picked up by a large tech blog, we will see a sudden burst: A very heavy increase in traffic all of the sudden. If we use a cheap charlie host as our current host is (www.unoeuro.com) or something similar like GoDaddy, I'm afraid that the site will go down under the load. If that happens, then we might as well have thrown our social media marketing dollars out of the window. Our site will be relatively lightweight, all videos hosted at Youtube or Vimeo and other than that mainly just a standard webpage (ie nothing too heavy). I am hoping for recommendations for a good hosting company, which has some form of scalable hosting, so if / when a traffic surge hits, the site will not go down.

  Hi, I have a page that is SSL and has a valid certificate extended. (mainpage.com) But this page request some static content to another domain(page-static.com), basicly images and js. Actually i have only a certificate for my mainpage.com. So now when i request this page i get invalid ssl page because it contains invalid encrypted data (the one provided by the www.page-static.com) What kind of certificate do i need for the www.page-static.com. Do i need the same one as the mainpage.com, because this certificate are expensive (it's a extended certificate). Or a cheap certificate from godaddy will do the trick. This is another question do both certificates have to be signed by the same root provider and/or the same encryption key length (or it can be only 128 bits)? Thanks for your help

  New sysadmin here, managing a CentOS server. This past week has been one of the most exciting weeks of my career, and full of learning all sorts of new things. Today I have another task though, and that is to make sure our server can handle more than what our old shared-hosting was capable of. We were originally limited to 200 concurrent connections on our GoDaddy shared-hosting. Eventually we out-grew this (usually during campaigns/marketing events) and moved on to a Virtual Dedicated Server. I'm assuming the number of connections would be handled by Apache. What configurations should I be mindful of in order to allow more traffic in?

When try to install it in iis through the website directory security tab i get a "the pending certificate request for this response file was not found. this request may be cancelled. you cannot install selected response certificate using this wizard" error. I may have run the wizard and deleted the pending request. Is there any way i can install the certificate without getting a new one? (i hope so) I have the original certrequest.txt file

• Should I anticipate any problems trying to use the same SSL Cert on 2 computers (primary, backup)?

  We have a production machine running IIS6 with a wildcard SSL certificate. The certificate that was installed is not exportable. We want to upgrade the system to IIS7. As part of this venture, we're creating a backup/failover server that will serve the exact same websites - when we take the primary down for upgrade, the secondary will take over. As such, the secondary also needs the SSL certificate. However, since the certificate was not exportable, this means re-keying it from Go Daddy. Per http://help.godaddy.com/article/867, I know that by re-keying the certificate the original will stop working. I'm still pretty new to SSL certificates, so are there any problems I should anticipate when installing the same SSL certificate on 2 different machines?

• DNS settings for SaaS in the cloud?

  I am building a SaaS product. When a user signs up for an account they must select an alias for their site --------.getlaunchpoint.com. Right now I have an A record *.getlaunchpoint.com that points to the ip address server. However, with Azure I am not given an IP address. The suggested implementation is to make use of a CNAME. I need to create a CNAME for *.getlaunchpoint.com - getlaunchpoint.cloudapp.net GoDaddy does not support CNAME wildcards. Searching on Google I'm getting conflicting information... is CNAME wildcard a bad practice? I run into the same problem with Amazon EC2 if I want to make use of load balancers because you cannot tie a public IP address to an Amazon Load Balancer. Amazon also suggests the use of a CNAME. Any help would be appreciated.

  Possible Duplicate: How to find web hosting that meets my requirements? I am planning to launch a website down soon. I wanted to know what solutions are available for hosting and registration. Starting with domain registration. Any site you have used/preferred ? I am considering either godaddy or 123reg. Does it even make any difference which you choose? Is there any fine print i need to worry about. I am based in UK , not sure if that helps in resolving any issues if encountered. Does my hosting need to be done at the site i purchased my registration? If not , will there be any transfer fees if i change my hosting? Can I just register the name now and worry about hosting later? At the moment, I plan to have it up and running using either some sort of a tool or a template and perhaps put the bells and whistles down the line. I understand 123 has its own builder tool available, There are a few solutions suggested like wordpress,drupal & jhoomla... I am a C++ developer , not a web programmer, but I do feel the need to open the hood up and make changes if i see fit. So I guess I am looking for a solution where I can easily drag-drop widgets I need and when the time comes customize it. Which CMS would you recommend. Extras: What extras do you need to get , I was suggested to get hold of whois privacy to keep the spambots away, anything else you guys would recommend I keep my eyes open before I sign the dotted line.
