  • Make the player run onto stairs smoothly

    I have a 2D Platform game, where the player Always runs to the right, but the terrain isn't Always horizontal. Example: I implemented a bounding-box collision system that just checks for intersections with player box and the other blocks, to stop player from running if you encounter a big block, so that you have to jump, but when I put stairs, I want him to run smoothly just like he is on the horizontal ground. With the collision system you have to jump the stairs in order to pass them! I thought about generating a line between the edges of the stairs, and imposing the player movement on that line... What do you think? Is there something more clever to do?

  • Access keystore on Sun ONE Webserver 6.1 for 2048 bit key length SSL

    We want to get 2048 bit key length CSR requests. The browser based GUI provides us with a 1024 bit CSR and I don't know how to change that. It seems that 1024 bit key lengths will no longer supported by SSL companies. (Lower cost options only support 2048 bit. Thawte who is much more expensive say they accept 1024 for only one or two year certificates, but not 3). The legacy systems in question are running Sun ONE Webserver 6.1. Upgrading would be time consuming and we would rather not have to do that right now. We will be phasing these out but it will take awhile, so... I believe the issue is that the encryption key I have been supplied by the web service developers is 48 characters long. I see that the iPhone SDK constant "kCCKeySize3DES" is 24. So I SUSPECT, but don't know, that the commoncrypto API call is only using the first 24 characters of the supplied key. Is this correct? Is there ANY way I can get this to generate the correct encrypted pin? I have output the data bytes from the encryption PRIOR to base64 encoding it and have attempted to match this against those generated from the .NET code (with the help of a .NET developer who sent the byte array output to me). Neither the non-base64 encoded byte array nor the final base64 encoded strings match.

  • WebKit "Refused to set unsafe header "content-length"

    I am trying to implement simple xhr abstraction, and am getting this warning when trying to set the headers for a POST. I think it might have something to do with setting the headers in a separate js file, because when i set them in the <script> tag in the .html file, it worked fine. The POST request is working fine, but I get this warning, and am curious why. I get this warning for both content-length and connection headers, but only in WebKit browsers (Chrome 5 beta and Safari 4). In Firefox, I don't get any warnings, the Content-Length header is set to the correct value, but the Connection is set to keep-alive instead of close, which makes me think that it is also ignoring my setRequestHeader calls and generating it's own. I have not tried this code in IE.     I have set up a demo that has 5 floating <div>s with rotated text of varying length. I am wondering if there is a way to have a CSS class that can handle centering of all text regardless of length. At the moment I have to create a class for each length of characters in my stylesheet. This could get too messy. I have also noticed that the offsets get screwd up is I increase or decrease the size of the wrapping <div>. I have it working fine checking that the field has only 10 characters, but I really want to check if the field has between 10 and 11 characters. Reason being, some people type numbers like so: 1 555 555 5555 and some people do this 555 555 5555. When running the previous line I get the default reply from at: warning: commands will be executed using /bin/sh Should my Firefox command be differently run in sh?   • OpenRasta overwriting Content-Length header in HEAD responses

    I'm creating a pretty simple HTTP service using OpenRasta. For HEAD requests, the HTTP 1.1 spec states that HEAD requests should have the Content-Length set to "the size of the entity-body that would have been sent had the request been a GET" (section 14.13). However, OpenRasta apparently sees that the response body is empty and automatically sets the Content-Length header to "0". What is the recommended way to override this behavior? Thanks-

  • task scheduler - run interactively as any user with admin credentials

    I'm trying to deploy a scheduled task with a GPO. The task is set to run at login and executes a batch file, which then executes an EXE file. However, I also need it to be interactive and run with admin privledges to bypass the UAC prompt for a username and password when the exe file runs. I created the task for "Vista and later". I've tried running the task as mydoman\administrator and as NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated users with "run only when user is logged in" and "run with highest privledges" selected. If I log in as anyone but administrator, the task does run in the background, as I can see the cmd.exe process running in task manager as mydomain\administrator. Only if I log in as administrator do I then see the cmd window with the batch script running. How can I get the cmd window to display no matter which user logs in?
