  • Sub-total and total columns

    - by Tass-man
    In Visual Foxpro 9 I am trying to wite an sql with a product "subtotal" column and a report "total" column. The sql code that works is as follows, but when I insert the commented out "Case" code I get errors that seem to increase as I correct the preceeding error. Can any one tell me in which place I should insert the "case" and what is wrong with the code? SELECT qItemSaleLines.ItemID, ; qItems.ItemID, ; qItemSaleLines.SaleID, ; qSales.SaleID, ; qSales.CardRecordID, ; qCustomers.CardRecordID, ; qItems.ItemNumber AS ProdCODE, ; qItems.ItemName AS StkNAME, ; qCustomers.LastName AS CUSTOMER, ; qSales.InvoiceNumber AS SaleINVNo, ; qSales.InvoiceDate AS SaleDATE, ; qItemSaleLines.Quantity AS SaleQTY, ; qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal AS SALE, ; qItemSaleLines.CostOfGoodsSoldAmount AS COGS, ; qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal - qItemSaleLines.CostOfGoodsSoldAmount AS MARGIN, ; (qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal - qItemSaleLines.CostOfGoodsSoldAmount) * / qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal AS MPERCENT ; FROM qItemSaleLines, qItems, qSales, qCustomers ; WHERE qSales.CardRecordID = qCustomers.CardRecordID AND qItemSaleLines.SaleID = qSales.SaleID AND ; qItemSaleLines.ItemID = qItems.ItemID AND qSales.InvoiceDate {^2009-06-30} ; ORDER BY qItems.ItemNumber, qSales.InvoiceDate ; *!* (SELECT qItems.ItemID, qItemSaleLines.ItemID, qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal, ; *!* CASE WHEN qItems.ItemID = (SELECT TOP 1 qItems.ItemID FROM qItems.ItemID, ; *!* WHERE qItems.ItemID = qItemSaleLines.ItemID, ; *!* ORDER BY qItems.ItemID desc), ; *!* THEN (SELECT SUM(qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal) FROM qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal,; *!* WHERE qItems.ItemID <= qItemSaleLines.ItemID AND qItems.ItemID = qItemSaleLines.ItemID, ; *!* ELSE ' ' END AS 'PROD-SALE'), ; *!* CASE WHEN qItems.ItemID = (SELECT TOP 1 qItems.ItemID FROM qItems.ItemID, ; *!* ORDER BY qItems.ItemID desc), ; *!* THEN (SELECT SUM(qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal) FROM qItemSaleLines.TaxExclusiveTotal, ; *!* ELSE ' ' END AS 'Grand Total') ;

  • Problem with iframe and IE6 and IE7 causing extra bottom padding

    - by schone
Hi all, I'm trying to insert a Google Maps iframe into my website. The iframe has a padding of 4px and a border of 1px already applied to it but for some reason in IE6 and IE7 there is an extra 3px padding added to the bottom of the iframe. You can see my test site here: http://www.prashantraju.com/test/ Is there a reason why this is occurring and if so is there a fix to this?

  • Issues with LINQ (to Entity) [adding records]

    - by Mario
I am using LINQ to Entity in a project, where I pull a bunch of data (from the database) and organize it into a bunch of objects and save those to the database. I have not had problems writing to the db before using LINQ to Entity, but I have run into a snag with this particular one. Here's the error I get (this is the "InnerException", the exception itself is useless!): New transaction is not allowed because there are other threads running in the session. I have seen that before, when I was trying to save my changes inside a loop. In this case, the loop finishes, and it tries to make that call, only to give me the exception. Here's the current code: try { //finalResult is a list of the keys to match on for the records being pulled foreach (int i in finalResult) { var queryEff = (from eff in dbMRI.MemberEligibility where eff.Member_Key == i && eff.EffDate >= DateTime. Now select eff.EffDate).Min(); if (queryEff != null) { //Add a record to the Process table Process prRecord = new Process(); prRecord.GroupData = qa; prRecord.Member_Key = i; prRecord.ProcessDate = DateTime. Now; prRecord.RecordType = "F"; prRecord.UsernameMarkedBy = "Autocard"; prRecord.GroupsId = qa.GroupsID; prRecord.Quantity = 2; prRecord.EffectiveDate = queryEff; dbMRI.AddObject("Process", prRecord); } } dbMRI.SaveChanges(); //<-- Crashes here foreach (int i in finalResult) { var queryProc = from pro in dbMRI.Process where pro.Member_Key == i && pro.UsernameMarkedBy == "Autocard" select pro; foreach (var qp in queryProc) { Audit aud = new Audit(); aud.Member_Key = i; aud.ProcessId = qp.ProcessId; aud.MarkDate = DateTime. Now; aud.MarkedByUsername = "Autocard"; aud.GroupData = qa; dbMRI.AddObject("Audit", aud); } } dbMRI.SaveChanges(); //<-- AND here (if the first one is commented out) } catch (Exception e) { //Do Something here } Basically, I need it to insert a record, get the identity for that inserted record and insert a record into another table with the identity from the first record. Given some other constraints, it is not possible to create a FK relationship between the two (I've tried, but some other parts of the app won't allow it, AND my DBA team for whatever reason hates FK's, but that's for a different topic :)) Any ideas what might be causing this? Thank!

  • Try catch finally blocks.. do i still need them?

    - by Phil
I am handling errors via my global.asax in this method: Dim CurrentException As Exception CurrentException = Server.GetLastError() Dim LogFilePath As String = Server.MapPath("~/Error/" & DateTime.Now.ToString("dd-MM-yy.HH.mm") & ".txt") Dim sw As System.IO.StreamWriter = New System.IO.StreamWriter(LogFilePath) sw.WriteLine(DateTime.Now.ToString) sw.WriteLine(CurrentException.ToString()) sw.Close() In my code I currently have no other error handling. Should I still insert try, catch, finally blocks? Thanks.

Especially,what does cross-join mean? I've only used join/left join .

  • can't add a custom marker to Google maps ( JS )

Hi, Was wondering, how do I add a custom marker to google maps, JavaScript, integrated into my site. This code adds a regular marker: var marker = new GMarker(center); map.addOverlay(marker); but where do I insert an image tag (say, "marker.png" ) for it to appear instead of the regular google marker? • How to read postgresql dump file in Python

    - by xorsyst
I'd like my Python script to read some data out of a postgresql dump file. The Python will be running on a system without postgresql, and needs to process the data in a dump file. It looks fairly straightforward to parse the CREATE TABLE calls to find the column names, then the INSERT INTO rows to build the contents. But I'm sure there would be quite a few gotchas in doing this reliably. Does anyone know of a module which will do this?

  • T-SQL For Each Alternative?

    - by davemackey
I need to take data from one table and import it into another table. In pseudocode, something like this: For Each row in table1 If row.personid is in table2 then update table2.row Else insert row into table2 End If Next What is the best way to do this in T-SQL? As I understand it T-SQL doesn't support For Each..Next, so what alternatives do I have?

  • Version of SQLite used in Android?

    - by Eno
Reason: Im wondering how to handle schema migrations. The newer SQLite versions support an "ALTER TABLE" SQL command which would save me having to copy data, drop the table, recreate table and re-insert data.

  • Crystal Reports "File Break"

    - by Chris B. Behrens
I'm generating a Crystal Reports report which will ultimately need to be split into thousands of pdf files. What would be ideal would be if Crystal Reports had something like a "file break", like a page break, that you could insert into the file at the appropriate places. I will need reasonably fine control over the file names, as well....something like "fileName_{CustomerId}_{CustomerIsLocal}.pdf". I'm presuming a third-party piece of software will probably be needed. Thoughts? TIA.

  • Set primary key with two integers

    - by user299196
I have a table with primary key (ColumnA, ColumnB). I want to make a function or procedure that when passed two integers will insert a row into the table but make sure the largest integer always goes into ColumnA and the smaller one into ColumnB. So if we have SetKeysWithTheseNumbers(17, 19) would return |-----------------| |ColumnA | ColumnB| |-----------------| |19 | 17 | |-----------------| SetKeysWithTheseNumbers(19, 17) would return the same thing |-----------------| |ColumnA | ColumnB| |-----------------| |19 | 17 | |-----------------|

  • identity specification gap after several operations

    - by Babak.Abad
I'm using identity specification for a table of sql server 2012. Let we have two Insert and then two Delete operation. After these operation primary key should start from 1, but it will start from 3. I'm worry about this problem causing no place for inserting new item after long time. Does "Sql-server 2012" fill these gaps by itself? If it is possible, please refer me a documentation ( for example from microsoft)

  • B-trees, databases, sequential inputs, and speed.

    - by IanC
I know from experience that b-trees have awful performance when data is added to them sequentially (regardless of the direction). However, when data is added randomly, best performance is obtained. This is easy to demonstrate with the likes of an RB-Tree. Sequential writes cause a maximum number of tree balances to be performed. I know very few databases use binary trees, but rather used n-order balanced trees. I logically assume they suffer a similar fate to binary trees when it comes to sequential inputs. This sparked my curiosity. If this is so, then one could deduce that writing sequential IDs (such as in IDENTITY(1,1)) would cause multiple re-balances of the tree to occur. I have seen many posts argue against GUIDs as "these will cause random writes". I never use GUIDs, but it struck me that this "bad" point was in fact a good point. So I decided to test it. Here is my code: SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO CREATE TABLE [dbo].[T1]( [ID] [int] NOT NULL CONSTRAINT [T1_1] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([ID] ASC) ) GO CREATE TABLE [dbo].[T2]( [ID] [uniqueidentifier] NOT NULL CONSTRAINT [T2_1] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([ID] ASC) ) GO declare @i int, @t1 datetime, @t2 datetime, @t3 datetime, @c char(300) set @t1 = GETDATE() set @i = 1 while @i < 2000 begin insert into T2 values (NEWID(), @c) set @i = @i + 1 end set @t2 = GETDATE() WAITFOR delay '0:0:10' set @t3 = GETDATE() set @i = 1 while @i < 2000 begin insert into T1 values (@i, @c) set @i = @i + 1 end select DATEDIFF(ms, @t1, @t2) AS [Int], DATEDIFF(ms, @t3, getdate()) AS [GUID] drop table T1 drop table T2 Note that I am not subtracting any time for the creation of the GUID nor for the considerably extra size of the row. The results on my machine were as follows: Int: 17,340 ms GUID: 6,746 ms This means that in this test, random inserts of 16 bytes was almost 3 times faster than sequential inserts of 4 bytes. Would anyone like to comment on this? Ps. I get that this isn't a question. It's an invite to discussion, and that is relevant to learning optimum programming.
