  • JavaScript OnClick Handler Not Invoking

    - by potatolicious
I'm calling a javascript function in an inline onclick like so: <a href="#" onclick="removeAttribute('foo', 'bar');">Some Link</a> When I click on the link, though, nothing happens. I have other links (to other functions) tied to onclicks that work fine elsewhere on the same page. All links to this "removeAttribute" function fail. There are no errors in Firebug, and the onclick event handler is being invoked - but stepping into the removeAttribute function ends up, for some reason, somewhere in jQuery.js. At no point does removeAttribute ever get called. If I do: javascript:removeAttribute('foo', 'bar'); in Firefox's address bar. The function is called successfully. Anyone seen this?

  • j2ME setLocationListener()

    - by Jeff Catania
I'm programming a GPS tracking system using the Motorola i335 running on Sprint's IDEN network. I'm using the javax.microedition.location api to find the GPS coordinates. To set up the updating, you use the [setLocationListener][1] method. I originally tried passing (listener,2,1,1). However there was too many invalid locations being received (where the GPS could not get the fix in the specified time), so I changed the parameters to (listener, 20, 20, 1). Now the system barely throws any invalid locations. My goal is to get the fastest number of updates that are realistic. Have any of you found a happy medium for parameters of this method? • string parsing and substring in c

    - by Josh
I'm trying to parse the string below in a good way so I can get the sub-string stringI-wantToGet: const char *str = "Hello \"FOO stringI-wantToGet BAR some other extra text"; str will vary in length but always same pattern - FOO and BAR What I had in mind was something like: const char *str = "Hello \"FOO stringI-wantToGet BAR some other extra text"; char *probe, *pointer; probe = str; while(probe != '\n'){ if(probe = strstr("\"FOO")!=NULL) probe++ else probe = ""; // Nulterm part if(pointer = strchr(probe, ' ')!=NULL) pointer = '\0'; // not sure here, I was planning to separate it with \0's } Any help will be appreciate it.

  • MATLAB Magical Mystery timing behavior

    - by Jacob Lyles
I am experiencing some very odd timing behavior from a function I wrote. If I wrap my function inside another empty container function, it gets a 3x speedup. > tic; foo(args); toc time elapsed: ~140 seconds >tic; bar(args); toc time elapsed: ~35 seconds Here's the kicker - the definition of bar(): define bar(args) foo(args) end Is there some sort of optimization that gets triggered in MATLAB for nested function calls? Should I be adding a dummy function to every function that I write?

  • How do I set the dataProvider for an <s:List> component to be an XML file?

    - by Matt Calthrop
I've got the latest Beta of Adobe Flash Builder 4. I want to use a <s:List> component, and specify the dataProvider as being an XML file. However, after loads of research (including looking at doc links off labs.adobe.com), I still can't figure out how to do it. The XML file will look something like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <imageList> <image location="path/to/file1.jpg" /> <image location="path/to/file2.jpg" /> <image location="path/to/file3.jpg" /> </imageList>

  • How to pop Toolwindow in a defined position

    - by Enmanuel
Hi everyone. Im trying to integrate a toolwindow in a Winforms application, it will be a tiny floating window to display element details in a listbox. What I need is pop the window in a relative position to the control that triggers the action, so here is the thing: the Location property gives me the relative position of the control from its container (the main form in this case) so this is the workaround im using: public void Show(kTextBox source) { Point absCoord = source.PointToScreen(source.Location); this.Location = this.PointToClient(absCoord); base.Show(); } Basically this is: get the absolute control position and set this position (previously converted into owner relative) to the toolwindow. I think it should work just fine but is missing for a certain degree, and it varies depending what control i use. Its kinda confusing. Been there anyone?? Thanks in advance.

  • C inline assembly of x96 fbstp instruction

    - by David HUnter
Was wondering how to inline a usage of fbstp on a 32 bit I86 architecture. I tried something like int main( ) { double foo = 100.0; long bar = 0; asm( "pushl %1; fbstp %0" : "=m"(bar) : "r"(foo) ); ... But bar is unchanged. I have tried reading everything I can find on this but most example simply do things like add two integers together. I can’t find any that talk about pushing operands onto the stack and what I should be doing when an instruction like fbstp writes 80 bits of data back to memory ( i.e. what C type to use ) and how to specify it in the asm syntax. Also on x86-64 there seems to be a pushq and no pushl but fbstp still exists whereas fbstq does not. Is there some other magic for 64 bit.

  • How to refresh an activity?

    - by poeschlorn
Hi Guys, after implementing some Android Apps, including several Map activities, I try to refresh the activity when the GPS listener's onLocationChanged() mehtod is called. I have no Idea how to tell the map activity to refresh on its own and display the new coords... the coords to store will have to be in global values, so that the location listener will have access to it. In my sample GPS-class (see code below) I just changed the text of a text view....but how to do that in map view? private class MyLocationListener implements LocationListener { @Override public void onLocationChanged(Location loc) { final TextView tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.myTextView); if (loc != null) { tv.setText("Location changed : Lat: " + loc.getLatitude() + " Lng: " + loc.getLongitude()); } } I think the solution of this Problem won't be very difficult, but I just need the beginning ;-) This whole app shall work like a really simple navigation system. It would be great if someone could help me a little bit further :) nice greetings, Poeschlorn

  • Can I override DropLocation target to avoid network latency?

    - by Chad
In Team Build 2008, the Drop Location for a build is no longer specified in the .proj file, and instead is stored in the database and maintained in the GUI tool. The GUI tool only accepts a network path as a drop location (i.e. \\server\share) and will not accept a local path. Our build server also hosts the dropped files, so it seems that forcing a file copy operation to go through the network share introduces a lot of lag time when copying a large number of files. I would like to override this feature so that I can specify a local directory for drop location, but I can't figure out how.

  • Download and write .tar.gz files without corruption.

    - by arbales
I've tried numerous ways of downloading files, specifically .zip and .tar.gz, with Ruby and write them to the disk. I've found that the file appears to be the same as the reference (in size), but the archives refuse to extract. What I'm attempting now is: Thanks! def download_request(url, filePath:path, progressIndicator:progressBar) file = File.open(path, "w+") begin Net::HTTP.get_response URI.parse(url) do |response| if response['Location']!=nil puts 'Direct to: ' + response['Location'] return download_request(response['Location'], filePath:path, progressIndicator:progressBar) end # some stuff response.read_body do |segment| file.write(segment) # some progress stuff. end end ensure file.close end end download_request("http://github.com/jashkenas/coffee-script/tarball/master", filePath:"tarball.tar.gz", progressIndicator:nil)

  • AutoMapper determine what to map based on generic type

    - by Daz Lewis
Hi, Is there a way to provide AutoMapper with just a source and based on the specified mapping for the type of that source automatically determine what to map to? So for example I have a type of Foo and I always want it mapped to Bar but at runtime my code can receive any one of a number of generic types. public T Add(T entity) { //List of mappings var mapList = new Dictionary<Type, Type> { {typeof (Foo), typeof (Bar)} {typeof (Widget), typeof (Sprocket)} }; //Based on the type of T determine what we map to...somehow! var t = mapList[entity.GetType()]; //What goes in ?? to ensure var in the case of Foo will be a Bar? var destination = AutoMapper.Mapper.Map<T, ??>(entity); } Any help is much appreciated.

  • Where is the best place to run initialization code for a UITabBarController?

    - by bobobobo
I have a UITabBarController in my application. I have to perform some customization to the NIB file using code the first time a view embedded in that UITabBarController gets loaded. When applicationDidFinishLaunching occurs, the UITabBarController's views apparently are not loaded -- if I try to modify the view controllers inside a tab bar that the tab bar is to load in applicationDidFinishLaunching, then those changes are ignored. I'm assuming this is because the tab bar didn't finish loading yet. So, I need a good place to put code that will run immediately after a tabbar is fully ready -- i.e. after it has loaded all the views from their respective nib files. I'm finding the only place I can do this is to track the first time viewDidAppear on each individual view controller. Note I can't use viewWillAppear because I need the value of tabBarController.selectedIndex to be accurate, and it is only actually updated after viewDidAppear gets fired, not when viewWillAppear gets fired.

  • How can I have a smooth animated move between 2 Google Maps locations?

    - by pelms
When clicking from one marker to another in Google Maps, the map screen animates the move smoothly if both markers are within them initial map view but jumps if one of the markers is off screen. I'm trying to set up a map which has several locations within the main map area but has one which is 'off screen'. I have a signpost icon to the more distant location within the initial map area which I want to smoothly scroll to the off screen location when clicked (so as to give a better sense of it's relative location). I can't find anything in the Maps API which would let me do this however. I could zoom out, move and then zoom in again but this looks a bit jarring. Am I missing something in the API, or does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Can somone help fix up my simple regex query, please?

    - by Pure.Krome
Hi folks, yep - another noob regex query, which I can't seem to get. I'm trying to get all matches for the string foo.mydomain.com/ or foo.mydomain.com:1234/ or foo.mydomain.com:<random port>/ but any other paths do not match, ie. foo.mydomain.com/bar or foo.mydomain.com/bar/pewpew I tried to use: foo.mydomain.com(.*)/$ ( starts with anything, then foo.mydomain.com, then any thing after that .. until a slash. then end. (this search query is anchored to the end of the line). but that doesn't work. It doesn't match when i pass in foo.mydomain.com:1234 but it correct says foo.mydomain.com/bar/pewpew is not a match (as expected). any ideas?

  • Set Caret position with JTextArea in JScrollPane

    - by Albinoswordfish
Right now I have a JTextArea inside of a JScrollPane. For the current content it has both a vertical and horizontal scroll bar showing up. I'm trying to implement a search functionality where a user can search for a certain string and it will set the caret position to the first occurrence of that string. However it seems that JScrollPane only scrolls vertically when I set my caret position. So matching strings going off the JTextArea horizontally will completely get missed and the horizontal scroll bar won't scroll at all. I'm using the basic function setCaretPosition() for the JTextArea Does anybody have any idea why my JScrollPane isn't moving horizontally using setCaretPosition() Edit: It appears the horizontal scroll bar is scrolling but it moves so little that it's barely noticeable. I can only see the very first pixel of the character. Is there a way to have the scrollbar center (or as much as possible) to the caret position?

  • Interface helpers or delegating interface parent

    - by Craig Peterson
If I have an existing IInterface descendant implemented by a third party, and I want to add helper routines, does Delphi provide any easy way to do so without redirecting every interface method manually? That is, given an interface like so: IFoo = interface procedure Foo1; procedure Foo2; ... procedure FooN; end; Is anything similar to the following supported? IFooHelper = interface helper for IFoo procedure Bar; end; or IFooBar = interface(IFoo) procedure Bar; end; TFooBar = interface(TInterfacedObject, IFoo, IFooBar) private FFoo: IFoo; public procedure Bar; property Foo: IFoo implements IFoo; end; I'm specifically wondering about ways to that allow me to always refer to IFoo, IFooBar, or TFooBar, without switching between them, and without adding all of IFoo's methods to TFooBar.

  • Is there a way to force a user to select an autocomplete value before they can submit the form?

    - by Randy Johnson
I am using the jqueryui autocomplete feature to allow the user to select their location. I need to make sure they select a location from the autocomplete before they can submit the form. I don't want them to be able to submit the form before they select a value. My solution is after they submit make sure that the value found is in the database. The other solution would be that when they click submit or after they leave the location box and go to another field to submit the entry via ajax to ensure it is valid if not show an error and do not let them submit the form. I was wondering if there was something easier I could do, or if there is something more elegant. I realize they have to be able to type something into the box to get the autocomplete to work, so I could force them to select a value from the autocomplete because it is not a select box, so it seems that my above solutions would be the best way to go. Thoughts?

  • Is there performance to be gained by moving storage allocation local to a member function to its cla

    - by neuviemeporte
Suppose I have the following C++ class: class Foo { double bar(double sth); }; double Foo::bar(double sth) { double a,b,c,d,e,f a = b = c = d = e = f = 0; /* do stuff with a..f and sth */ } The function bar() will be called millions of times in a loop. Obviously, each time it's called, the variables a..f have to be allocated. Will I gain any performance by making the variables a..f members of the Foo class and just initializing them at the function's point of entry? On the other hand, the values of a..f will be dereferenced through this-, so I'm wondering if it isn't actually a possible performance degradation. Is there any overhead to accessing a value through a pointer? Thanks!

  • C++ method chaining including class constructor

    - by jena
Hello, I'm trying to implement method chaining in C++, which turns out to be quite easy if the constructor call of a class is a separate statement, e.g: Foo foo; foo.bar().baz(); But as soon as the constructor call becomes part of the method chain, the compiler complains about expecting ";" in place of "." immediately after the constructor call: Foo foo().bar().baz(); I'm wondering now if this is actually possible in C++. Here is my test class: class Foo { public: Foo() { } Foo& bar() { return *this; } Foo& baz() { return *this; } }; I also found an example for "fluent interfaces" in C++ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluent_interface#C.2B.2B) which seems to be exactly what I'm searching for. However, I get the same compiler error for that code. Thanks in advance for any hint. Best, Jean
