Is there anything like Beanshell, which exposes CLR classes instead of Java classes, and lets you write scripts in C# or VB.Net (or any .Net language for that matter)
Should come in handy to test one-liner code snippets
I don't want to use any JAVA, I just want to use <jsp:include> or <c:import> or something to that effect..
so that I can use
<c:set var="myPage" value="bufferedPageOutput" />
to output the generated html later
How can I do this with JSP/JSTL/Struts ?
Art of Test produced a nice UI testing tool for free -- WebAii Framework-- that I've been using to add client-side DOM unit tests to my projects. Recently they merged with Telerik and it's now a commercial product. From free to $1500 is suddenly very expensive. Does anybody know if the community edition is still available, or even the last free version is available for download? At least I can finish off with that.
What is a good C++ library for hash tables / hash maps similar to what java offers. I have worked with Google Sparsehash, but it has no support for collisions.
how can I change the background of an ImageView from java? I have an ImageView and at a certain point I need to change the image that it displays (set in the styles). I tried to do it like this:
placeHolder.setImageDrawable(myDrawb);
but it looks like the old image remains there and it is partially covered but the new one (which in my case has different shape).
hope you guys can help!
cheers
I've noticed that the Title or Body part is remembered if I come back to the Ask Question page by pressing Back button of my browser.
This feature is available in all browsers I tested, but doesn't exist for the forms in my own projects.
How can I approach that effect?
UPDATE

We have a Scala project with few source files (in Scala and Java) and quite some dependencies in various binary formats (jar and DLL). I'm wondering what should go into our shared git repo. Only the source files (developers have to download or somehow resolve the dependencies themselves) or the both the source files and the dependencies?
I may add that dependencies are all third parties and available for download for free.
I want to check the performance of the gzip decoding speed in a web browser.
In the Java or c#, we can easily check the gzip decoding time.
But I can not measure the decoding time in the web browser.
plz help me.
I want to check some decoding speed of gzipped html files.

How can I implement following logic?
User registers with an e-mail address
If provided e-mail address is a valid
email address Then user account get's
activated
or if it is a fake email then user
account is not activated
I doubt that I can catch the - "Delivery failed reply message", right?
anyhow how would you suggest to implement the above logic?
PS. I will have to find a way no matter what, client wants it =)
Have any well-documented or open source projects targeted iPhone, Blackberry, and Android? Are there other platforms which are better-suited to such an endeavor? Note that I am particularly asking about client-side software, not web apps, though any information about the difficulties of using web apps across multiple mobile platforms is also interesting.
I have used file search functionality in eclipse to replace a specific occurrence of text with a replace text which contains a java method name in all files across the workspace.
But now in all those files I have to add the import statement (for the method name to resolve).
Is there an automatic way of doing this instead of manually searching and importing the package myself in all files?

Hi,
I am creating a setup project using Visual Studio. I want to reboot the system after the installation completed successfully.

Can I tweak the setup project itself?
How Can I do that?
Hi,
I'm a .NET programmer who've just started to learn more about client side scripting, and I was wondering sometimes you use $get('value') and $find('value') and I've discovered that these are just shortcuts for document.getElementById('value') and Sys.Application.findComponent('value'), respectively.
However, I still don't understand: what is the difference between these two functions in JavaScript? What exactly are they looking up/retrieving when invoked?
Thanks in advance.
I have a model
class Car
@@RPCServer = XMLRPC::Client.new("localhost", "/", 8080)
def self.count
@@RPCServer.call("cars.count")
end
end
If server is not running on localhost:8080 I've got a Errno::ECONNREFUSED error.
I want to display an error message to user, how can a handle this error?
Many tutorials on socket communication I see seem to use 1 thread per socket. But on a server used for online gaming, you might have 10k concurrent users - 10k threads isn't probably a wonderful idea.
I came across a tool (SmartFox) which claims to use a single thread for monitoring all socket connections, potentially thousands of them. This app happens to be in Java, but I figure C++ or C# could do the same... how would you achieve this?
Hi
Can anyone suggest the ways we can choose to reduce the size of the rendered html
or response to reduce page weight in .net so that the client can experience a faster loading of the UI
i've heard of JSON and GZip
but don't have much idea about how to use it or even better ways are there
