  Hi all, I am learning java. I am trying to use composite design pattern. I am trying to use following logic. ( Don't laugh I know it is very basic :) ) Item -> interface Folder -> class File -> class In folder class, can I create an arraylist of Item to store files information? ArrayList<Item> info = ArrayList<Item>(); Or should I use Folder Arraylist? ArrayList<Folder> info = ArrayList<Folder>(); I don't know if interface can store real data as there is no variable just function definitions. Thanks for helping a newbie :)

  Hi I wrote a webservice which runs correctly. In the webservice, there is a class which contains other classes' arrays and the webservice returns this class's instance. for example public class cls1 implements Serializable{ cls2[] cls2Arr; cls3[] cls3Arr; } I fill this arrays (cls2Arr and cls3Arr) correctly in service side. When I read this arrays from client, I see only last item of arrays. I checked on the service side before the webservice returns, and the cls1 instance and everything else looked good.   Hi, I've been trying to solve a problem in combinations. I have a matrix 6X6 i'm trying to find all combinations of length 8 in the matrix. I have to move from neighbor to neighbor form each row,column position and i wrote a recursive program which generates the combination but the problem is it generates a lot of duplicates as well and hence is inefficient. Check the if conditions. i.e if your in (0,0) you can move to either (1,0) or (1,1) or (0,1) i.e three neighbors. if your in (2,2) you can move to eight neighbors. so on...

Without doing one cell per line, there are ~20 columns.   I'm a total programming newb who started learning java programming this sem at uni. I'm up to a step where i need to copy some elements from one method to another. This program i'm creating is called an L_Game. The question I'm stuck is: the project(Slide other) method should take another slide as a parameter, and copy each non-space cell from this slide into the other slide (i.e. like a projector projecting slides onto a screen. I previously made a constructor with the parameter cells in it and believe i copied it to the project(Slide other) method. But i'm not sure what to do to copy each "non-space cell" With the "for" method or the "if" method? If my question isn't typed correctly or have information missing, please let me know. Any help will be appreciated. (I obviously have no idea with what i'm doing...)

  i have an unsigned short dst[16][16] matrix and a larger unsigned char src[m][n] matrix. Now i have to access in the src matrix and add a 16x16 submatrix to dst, using sse2 or ss3. In a my older implementation, I was sure that my summed values ??were never greater than 256, so i could do this: for (int row = 0; row < 16; ++row) { __m128i subMat = _mm_lddqu_si128(reinterpret_cast<const __m128i*>(src)); dst[row] = _mm_add_epi8(dst[row], subMat); src += W; // Step to next row i need to add } where W is an offset to reach the desired rows. • Divide numpy array

  Hi all I have some data represented in a 1300x1341 matrix. I would like to split this matrix in several pieces (e.g. 9) so that I can loop over and process them. The data needs to stay ordered in the sense that x[0,1] stays below (or above if you like) x[0,0] and besides x[1,1]. Just like if you had imaged the data, you could draw 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines over the image to illustrate the 9 parts. If I use numpys reshape (eg. matrix.reshape(9,260,745) or any other combination of 9,260,745) it doesn't yield the required structure since the above mentioned ordering is lost... Did I misunderstand the reshape method or can it be done this way? What other pythonic/numpy way is there to do this?

When printing it prints 127 as part 1 but as part 2 it prints NULL? Can someone help me? I don't see any problem. Any ideas ? Unrolling the copy and performing the explicit loop over the columns works in both compilers. Note that with allocatable instead of pointer I have no problems. The behavior is the same if the statement is either inside a module or not. I confirm the same behavior on Linux using ifort (IFORT) 12.1.3 20120130.

• How to store array of NSManagedObjects in an NSManagedObject

  I am loading my app with a property list of data from a web site. This property list file contains an NSArray of NSDictionaries which itself contains an NSArray of NSDictionaries. Basically, I'm trying to load a tableView of restaurant menu categories each of which contains menu items. My property list file is fine. I am able to load the file and loop through the nodes structure creating NSEntityDescriptions and am able to save to Core Data. Everything works fine and expectedly except that in my menu category managed object, I have an NSArray of menu items for that category. Later on, when I fetch the categories, the pointers to the menu items in a category is lost and I get all the menu items. Am I suppose to be using predicates or does Core Data keep track of my object graph for me? Can anyone look at how I am loading Core Data and point out the flaw in my logic? I'm pretty good with either SQL and OOP by themselves, but am a little bewildered by ORM. I thought that I should just be able to use aggregation in my managed objects and that the framework would keep track of the pointers for me, but apparently not.
