  • Need Help Hiring a Perfectionist Programmer [closed]

    - by Bryan Hadaway
    I understand my question may be in the gray area, but I'm not able to use the Meta to ask if this question is appropriate or not so I'll simply have to risk it. My project is complete in the sense that it's a fully functional, ready to go 1.0 version. However, that's not good enough for my standards. My expertise is in HTML/CSS, not jQuery and PHP. I'm looking for someone to refine every character of my code for quality, speed, security and compatibility. I want everything to be as bug free as possible for launch. So I need an expert programmer who's a perfectionist in their coding who cares about the quality of their work (not just making it work) to review and refine my code. I'm sure I can't outright post the project's details and hope for interested parties to contact me as that wouldn't be beneficial to the community so instead I'm looking for advice from programmers about where some of best places to hire quality programmers are and the best strategies to hire the right programmer. In other words, screening applicants off of craigslist isn't going to cut it for this project. Thanks

  • Using nested public classes to organize constants

    - by FrustratedWithFormsDesigner
    I'm working on an application with many constants. At the last code review it came up that the constants are too scattered and should all be organized into a single "master" constants file. The disagreement is about how to organize them. The majority feel that using the constant name should be good enough, but this will lead to code that looks like this: public static final String CREDITCARD_ACTION_SUBMITDATA = "6767"; public static final String CREDITCARD_UIFIELDID_CARDHOLDER_NAME = "3959854"; public static final String CREDITCARD_UIFIELDID_EXPIRY_MONTH = "3524"; public static final String CREDITCARD_UIFIELDID_ACCOUNT_ID = "3524"; ... public static final String BANKPAYMENT_UIFIELDID_ACCOUNT_ID = "9987"; I find this type of naming convention to be cumbersome. I thought it might be easier to use public nested class, and have something like this: public class IntegrationSystemConstants { public class CreditCard { public static final String UI_EXPIRY_MONTH = "3524"; public static final String UI_ACCOUNT_ID = "3524"; ... } public class BankAccount { public static final String UI_ACCOUNT_ID = "9987"; ... } } This idea wasn't well received because it was "too complicated" (I didn't get much detail as to why this might be too complicated). I think this creates a better division between groups of related constants and the auto-complete makes it easier to find these as well. I've never seen this done though, so I'm wondering if this is an accepted practice or if there's better reasons that it shouldn't be done.

  • South Florida Code Camp and Other Events

    - by MOSSLover
    My grandmother wanted me to make her a video when she heard I got MVP in SharePoint Server of one of my sessions.  I decided I haven’t visited in two years, so maybe I can do an in person session.  I googled around and found South Florida Code Camp, which will be Saturday, February 12th.  I will be doing a session at 9:50 in the morning on Silverlight just for my grandmother and whoever shows up.  Here is the link for more information: http://www.fladotnet.com/codecamp/. In the upcoming months I plan to return to SharePoint Saturday speaking.  We are also organizing another New York event on Saturday, July 30th.  We will open up submissions for sponsors and speakers somewhere after Best Practices Conference in LaJolla.  I will be speaking at Best Practices LaJolla and the The Expert’s Conference in the upcoming months.  I am really sorry for the lack of updates it’s just been incredibly crazy going back and forth to DC and not having internet on weekdays or having the slowest internet in the world has just not helped.  I am also trying to attend Coders 4 Charity this year, so I can visit some people in St. Louis.  I’ve already got an incredibly crazy schedule going for the year.  I might be helping organize more events.  I’m going to volunteer at New York Code Camp too doing whatever they need this year.  Check back for more updates. • Basic SDL2 Code which "Stop working" when calling SDL_Quit() [migrated]

    - by Rivten
    So I got into SDL2 with C++ quite recently and I did this very simple code : int main(int argc, char** argv) { SDL_Event *event; bool done = false; if(SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_VIDEO) != 0) { std::cerr << "Problèmes pour initialiser la SDL : " << SDL_GetError() << std::endl; return 1; } SDL_Window *window = 0; window = SDL_CreateWindow("Mopion", SDL_WINDOWPOS_UNDEFINED, SDL_WINDOWPOS_UNDEFINED, WIDTH, HEIGHT, SDL_WINDOW_SHOWN); if(window == 0) { done = true; } while(!done) { while(SDL_PollEvent(event)) { switch(event->type) { case SDL_QUIT: done = true; break; case SDL_KEYUP: if(event->key.keysym.sym == SDLK_q) { done = true; } break; default: break; } } } SDL_DestroyWindow(window); SDL_Quit(); return 0; } While that code executes at first quite well, when I hit the "Q" key, the window closes but I got a Windows Error Window saying that "My program stopped working." which is not very convenient. Using the debugger, I found that everything is fine until SDL_Quit() is called. Anyone has any idea why this is going on ? Thanks a lot !

  • Google Code C++ [closed]

    - by JacKeown
    I was on this website: http://code.google.com/edu/languages/cpp/basics/getting-started.html#learn-by-example and I saw this code: // Description: Illustrate the use of cin to get input // and how to recover from errors. #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { int input_var = 0; // Enter the do while loop and stay there until either // a non-numeric is entered, or -1 is entered. Note that // cin will accept any integer, 4, 40, 400, etc. do { cout << "Enter a number (-1 = quit): "; // The following line accepts input from the keyboard into // variable input_var. // cin returns false if an input operation fails, that is, if // something other than an int (the type of input_var) is entered. if (!(cin >> input_var)) { cout << "Please enter numbers only." << endl; cin.clear(); cin.ignore(10000,'\n'); } if (input_var != -1) { cout << "You entered " << input_var << endl; } } while (input_var != -1); cout << "All done." << endl; return 0; } I was wondering... what is the significance of cin.clear() and cin.ignore() ...and also why the 10000 and /n parameters are necessary...?...

  • jQuery DataTables server side processing and ASP.Net

    - by Chad
    I'm trying to use the server side functionality of the jQuery Datatables plugin with ASP.Net. The ajax request is returning valid JSON, but nothing is showing up in the table. I originally had problems with the data I was sending in the ajax request. I was getting a "Invalid JSON primative" error. I discovered that the data needs to be in a string instead of JSON serialized, as described in this post: http://encosia.com/2008/06/05/3-mistakes-to-avoid-when-using-jquery-with-aspnet-ajax/. I wasn't quite sure how to fix that, so I tried adding this in the ajax request: "data": "{'sEcho': '" + aoData.sEcho + "'}" If the aboves eventually works I'll add the other parameters later. Right now I'm just trying to get something to show up in my table. The returning JSON looks ok and validates, but the sEcho in the post is undefined, and I think thats why no data is being loaded into the table. So, what am I doing wrong? Am I even on the right track or am I being stupid? Does anyone ran into this before or have any suggestions? Here's my jQuery: $(document).ready(function() { $("#grid").dataTable({ "bJQueryUI": true, "sPaginationType": "full_numbers", "bServerSide":true, "sAjaxSource": "GridTest.asmx/ServerSideTest", "fnServerData": function(sSource, aoData, fnCallback) { $.ajax({ "type": "POST", "dataType": 'json', "contentType": "application/json; charset=utf-8", "url": sSource, "data": "{'sEcho': '" + aoData.sEcho + "'}", "success": fnCallback }); } }); }); HTML: <table id="grid"> <thead> <tr> <th>Last Name</th> <th>First Name</th> <th>UserID</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td colspan="5" class="dataTables_empty">Loading data from server</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> Webmethod: <WebMethod()> _ Public Function ServerSideTest() As Data Dim list As New List(Of String) list.Add("testing") list.Add("chad") list.Add("testing") Dim container As New List(Of List(Of String)) container.Add(list) list = New List(Of String) list.Add("testing2") list.Add("chad") list.Add("testing") container.Add(list) HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentType = "application/json" Return New Data(HttpContext.Current.Request("sEcho"), 2, 2, container) End Function Public Class Data Private _iTotalRecords As Integer Private _iTotalDisplayRecords As Integer Private _sEcho As Integer Private _sColumns As String Private _aaData As List(Of List(Of String)) Public Property sEcho() As Integer Get Return _sEcho End Get Set(ByVal value As Integer) _sEcho = value End Set End Property Public Property iTotalRecords() As Integer Get Return _iTotalRecords End Get Set(ByVal value As Integer) _iTotalRecords = value End Set End Property Public Property iTotalDisplayRecords() As Integer Get Return _iTotalDisplayRecords End Get Set(ByVal value As Integer) _iTotalDisplayRecords = value End Set End Property Public Property aaData() As List(Of List(Of String)) Get Return _aaData End Get Set(ByVal value As List(Of List(Of String))) _aaData = value End Set End Property Public Sub New(ByVal sEcho As Integer, ByVal iTotalRecords As Integer, ByVal iTotalDisplayRecords As Integer, ByVal aaData As List(Of List(Of String))) If sEcho <> 0 Then Me.sEcho = sEcho Me.iTotalRecords = iTotalRecords Me.iTotalDisplayRecords = iTotalDisplayRecords Me.aaData = aaData End Sub Returned JSON: {"__type":"Data","sEcho":0,"iTotalRecords":2,"iTotalDisplayRecords":2,"aaData":[["testing","chad","testing"],["testing2","chad","testing"]]}

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 client-side validation rules not being created

    - by Brant Bobby
    MVC isn't generating the client-side validation rules for my viewmodel. The HTML just contains this: <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ if (!window.mvcClientValidationMetadata) { window.mvcClientValidationMetadata = []; } window.mvcClientValidationMetadata.push({"Fields":[],"FormId":"form0","ReplaceValidationSummary":false}); //]]> </script> Note that Fields[] is empty! My view is strongly-typed and uses the new strongly-typed HTML helpers (TextBoxFor(), etc). View Model / Domain Model public class ItemFormViewModel { public Item Item { get; set; } [Required] [StringLength(100)] public string Whatever { get; set; } // for demo } [MetadataType(typeof(ItemMetadata))] public class Item { public string Name { get; set; } public string SKU { get; set; } public int QuantityRequired { get; set; } // etc. } public class ItemMetadata { [Required] [StringLength(100)] public string Name { get; set; } [Required] [StringLength(50)] public string SKU { get; set; } [Range(0, Int32.MaxValue)] public int QuantityRequired { get; set; } // etc. } (I know I'm using a domain model as my / as part of my view model, which isn't a good practice, but disregard that for now.) View <%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<ItemFormViewModel>" %> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2>Editing item: <%= Html.Encode(Model.Item.Name) %></h2> <% Html.EnableClientValidation(); %> <%= Html.ValidationSummary("Could not save the item.") %> <% using (Html.BeginForm()) { %> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Item.Name) %> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Item.SKU) %> <%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Item.QuantityRequired) %> <%= Html.HiddenFor(model => model.Item.ItemID) %> <%= Html.TextBox("Whatever", Model.Whatever) %> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> <% } %> </asp:Content> I included the Whatever property on the view model because I suspected that MVC wasn't recursively inspecting the sub-properties of ItemFormViewModel.Item, but even that isn't being validated? I've even tried delving into the MVC framework source code but have come up empty. What could be going on?

  • Linking LLVM JIT Code to Static LLVM Libraries?

    - by inflector
    I'm in the process of implementing a cross-platform (Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux) application which will do lots of CPU intensive analysis of financial data. The bulk of the analysis engine will be written in C++ for speed reasons, with a user-accessible scripting engine interfacing with the C++ testing engine. I want to write several scripting front-ends over time to emulate other popular software with existing large user bases. The first front will be a VisualBasic-like scripting language. I'm thinking that LLVM would be perfect for my needs. Performance is very important because of the sheer amount of data; it can take hours or days to run a single run of tests to get an answer. I believe that using LLVM will also allow me to use a single back-end solution while I implement different front-ends for different flavors of the scripting language over time. The testing engine itself will be separated from the interface and testing will even take place in a separate process with progress and results being reported to the testing management interface. Tests will consist of scripting code integrated with the testing engine code. In a previous implementation of a similar commercial testing system I wrote, I built a fast interpreter which easily interfaced with the testing library because it was written in C++ and linked directly to the testing engine library. Callbacks from scripting code to testing library objects involved translating between the formats with significant overhead. I'm imagining that with LLVM, I could implement the callbacks into C++ directly so that I could make the scripting code work almost as if it had been written in C++. Likewise, if all the code was compiled to LLVM byte-code format, it seems like the LLVM optimizers could optimize across the boundaries between the scripting language and the testing engine code that was written in C++. I don't want to have to compile the testing engine every time. Ideally, I'd like to JIT compile only the scripting code. For small tests, I'd skip some optimization passes, while for large tests, I'd perform full optimizations during the link. So is this possible? Can I precompile the testing engine to a .o object file or .a library file and then link in the scripting code using the JIT? Finally, ideally, I'd like to have the scripting code implement specific methods as subclasses for a specific C++ class. So the C++ testing engine would only see C++ objects while the JIT setup code compiled scripting code that implemented some of the methods for the objects. It seems that if I used the right name mangling algorithm it would be relatively easy to set up the LLVM generation for the scripting language to look like a C++ method call which could then be linked into the testing engine. Thus the linking stage would go in two directions, calls from the scripting language into the testing engine objects to retrieve pricing information and test state information and calls from the testing engine of methods of some particular C++ objects where the code was supplied not from C++ but from the scripting language. In summary: 1) Can I link in precompiled (either .bc, .o, or .a) files as part of the JIT compilation, code-generation process? 2) Can I link in code using that the process in 1) above in such a way that I am able to create code that acts as if it was all written in C++?

  • Invalid assignment left hand side

    - by JoelM
    I'm getting an invalid assignment left hand side. What I'm trying to do is, to use jscolor http://jscolor.com to define the color of polygons im drawing via Mapbender http://mapbender.org. What I do: Select a polygon by clicking on it, then open the options dialog (seperate window) where I have several options including the color. MyCode: if (isTransactional) {str += "\t\t<tr>\n"; var options = ["insert", "update", "delete", "abort", "pick"]; for (var i = 0 ; i < options.length ; i++) { var onClickText = "this.disabled=true;var result = window.opener.formCorrect(document, '"+featureTypeElementFormId+"');"; onClickText += "if (result.isCorrect) {"; onClickText += "window.opener.dbGeom('"+options[i]+"', "+memberIndex+"); "; // onClickText += "window.close();"; onClickText += "}"; onClickText += "else {"; onClickText += "alert(result.errorMessage);this.disabled=false;" onClickText += "}"; if (options[i] == "insert" && hasGeometryColumn && (!fid || showSaveButtonForExistingGeometries)) { str += "\t\t\t<td><input type='button' name='saveButton' value='"+msgObj.buttonLabelSaveGeometry+"' onclick=\""+onClickText+"\" /></td>\n"; } if (!featureTypeMismatch && fid) { if (options[i] == "update" && hasGeometryColumn) { str += "\t\t\t<td><input type='button' name='updateButton' value='"+msgObj.buttonLabelUpdateGeometry+"' onclick=\""+onClickText+"\"/></td>\n"; } if (options[i] == "delete"){ var deleteOnClickText = "var deltrans = confirm('"+msgObj.messageConfirmDeleteGeomFromDb+"');"; deleteOnClickText += "if (deltrans){"; deleteOnClickText += onClickText + "}"; str += "\t\t\t<td><input type='button' name='deleteButton' value='"+msgObj.buttonLabelDeleteGeometry+"' onclick=\""+deleteOnClickText+"\"/></td>\n"; }} if (options[i] == "abort") { str += "\t\t\t<td><input type='button' name='abortButton' value='"+msgObj.buttonLabelAbort+"' onclick=\"window.close();\" /></td>\n"; } if (options[i] == "pick") { var color; str += "<td><input class='color' name='color' id='cPick' onchange="+color+"></td>"; str += "<td><input type='text' id='text' value="+color+"></td>"; //color = document.getElementById('cPick').value; //var color2 = color; //alert(color2); } }str += "\t\t</tr>\n";}str += "\t</table>\n";str += "<input type='hidden' id='fid' value='"+fid+"'>"; //str += "<input type='text' name='mb_wfs_conf'>"; str += "</form>\n";}return str;} The Application: It is a Mapbender application to display maps and draw on it. You can draw points, lines and polygons also merge and split them. You can also select the polygons that you have drawn to alter them. Using: PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Mapbender, jQuery, Geoserver, PostgreSQL, WMS, WFS-T Sorry guys, but I think I'm wasting your time. Will ask this question in GIS specified Q&A. Thank you for the input. Greetings Joël

  • ASP.NET - Call required field validator before AJAX modalpopup, client side

    - by odinel
    I have an ASP.NET/C# application. The user fills out a form with required fields, then clicks a submit button. An AJAX popup message is then displayed, and if they confirm, their information is posted back to the server. The problem is that the AJAX popup is fired BEFORE the req validator. I need to interrupt this and run the req validator, and then if successful show the popup. I know the req validator is working, because if you cancel the popup message, the req text is shown next to the fields. Textbox and AJAX control code is here: <table> <tr> <td>Name</td> <td> <asp:TextBox ID="txtName" runat="server" CssClass="textBox" AutoPostBack="true"></asp:TextBox> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="reqName" runat="server" Text="*" ControlToValidate="txtName" ValidationGroup="trade" ForeColor="White"></asp:RequiredFieldValidator> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Address</td> <td> <asp:TextBox ID="txtAdd1" runat="server" CssClass="textBox"></asp:TextBox> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="RequiredFieldValidator1" runat="server" Text="*" ControlToValidate="txtAdd1" ValidationGroup="trade" ForeColor="White"></asp:RequiredFieldValidator> </td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> <td> <asp:Button ID="btnSubmitEnquiry" runat="server" CssClass="buttonText" Text="Submit Enquiry" ValidationGroup="trade" /> </td> </tr> </table> <ajax:ModalPopupExtender ID="ModalPopupExtender1" runat="server" okcontrolid="lnkCancel" targetcontrolid="btnSubmitEnquiry" popupcontrolid="pnlConfirm" popupdraghandlecontrolid="PopupHeader" drag="true" ></ajax:ModalPopupExtender> <asp:Button Text="targetbutton" ID="btnConfTgt" runat="server" Style="display: none" /> <asp:Panel ID="pnlConfirm" style="display:none" runat="server"> <div class="PopupContainer"> <div class="PopupBody"> <br /> <div align="center"> <asp:label ID="Label1" runat="server" CssClass="lblConfirmpopup"> Message goes here </asp:label> </div> <br /><br /><br /> <div align="center"> <asp:LinkButton ID="lnkCancel" runat="server" visible="true" Text="Cancel" CommandName="Update" BorderColor="#FFFFFF" BackColor="#000000" BorderWidth="3" BorderStyle="Double" ForeColor="White" Font-Size="13pt" Font-Underline="False"></asp:LinkButton> <asp:LinkButton ID="lnkConfirm" runat="server" visible="true" Text="Submit Enquiry" CommandName="Update" BorderColor="#FFFFFF" BackColor="#000000" BorderWidth="3" BorderStyle="Double" ForeColor="White" Font-Size="13pt" Font-Underline="False" OnClick="btnSubmitEnquiry_Click"></asp:LinkButton> </div> </div> </div> </asp:Panel> I've tried coding the first submit button to call the client-side req validator method, but no joy; it still shows the popup before the req validator. If there's no simple solution, I was thinking of perhaps an 'outside the box' solution, maybe hiding the initial Submit button after the req validation has passed, then showing an additional button with the popup control attached to it. Not sure how I'd be able to achieve this though. Thanks

  • Arduino: Putting servos in my class causes them to rotate all the way to one side

    - by user2526712
    I am trying to create a new class that controls two servos. My code compiles just fine. However, when I run it, the servos just turn all the way to one direction. This seems to happen when I try instantiating the class (when in the constructor, I attach the servos in the class to pins). In My class's header file, I have [UPDATED] #ifndef ServoController_h #define ServoController_h #include "Arduino.h" #include <Servo.h> class ServoController { public: ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin); void rotate(int degrees); void elevate(int degrees); private: Servo rotateServo; Servo elevateServo; int elevationAngle; int azimuthAngle; }; #endif Code so far for my Class: #include "Arduino.h" #include "ServoController.h" ServoController::ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } void ServoController::rotate(int degrees) { //TO DO rotateServo.write(degrees); } void ServoController::elevate(int degrees) { //TO DO elevateServo.write(degrees); } And finally my arduino sketch so far is just: #include <ServoController.h> #include <Servo.h> ServoController sc(2 , 3); void setup() { } void loop() { } I'm pretty sure the circuit I am using is fine, since if I do not use my class, and just use the servo library directly in my arduino file, the servos move correctly. any ideas why this might happen? [UPDATE] I actually got this working. In my constructor, I have removed the lines to attach the servos to pins. Instead, I have added another method to my class which does the attachment. ServoController::ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; // elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); // rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } void ServoController::attachPins(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } I then call this in my sketch's setup() function: void setup() { sc.attachPins(2,3); } It seems like if I attach my servos outside of the setup() function, my problem occurs. [UPDATE July 27 9:13PM] Verified something with another test: I created a new sketch where I attached a servo before setup(): #include <Servo.h> Servo servo0; servo0.attach(2); void setup() { } void loop() // this function runs repeatedly after setup() finishes { servo0.write(90); delay(2000); servo0.write(135); delay(2000); servo0.write(45); delay(2000); } When I try to compile, Arduino throws an error: "testservotest:4: error: expected constructor, destructor, or type conversion before '.' token" So there was an error, but it was not thrown when the attach method was called from a class Thanks very much

  • Using WCF DLL with VB6 ?

    - by Steven2ic
    I have a VB6 application that needs to communicate with a VS2008 VB.NET WCF server. I have built a VB.NET WCF DLL to be used on the client side, and it --almost-- works with the VB6 application. When I try to run the VB6 app in debug mode, I get "Could not find endpoint element with name 'NetTCPBinding_IComPortManager' and contract 'IComPortManager' in the ServiceModel client configuration section." Using a dummy VB.Net client app, with the same WCF DLL works fine. I presume that the VB6 app/WCF DLL is not finding app.config. Where should app.config be ? Is there a way to tell WCF where to find app.config ?

  • How can I assert from Python C code?

    - by Joe
    I'm writing a Python class in C and I want to put assertions in my debug code. assert.h suits me fine. This only gets put in debug compiles so there's no chance of an assert failure impacting a user of the Python code*. I'm trying to divide my 'library' code (which should be separate to the code linked against Python) so I can use it from other C code. My Python methods are therefore thinnish wrappers around my pure-C code. So I can't do this in my 'library' code: if (black == white) { PyErr_SetString(PyExc_RuntimeError, "Remap failed"); } because this pollutes my pure-C code with Python. It's also far uglier than a simple assert(black != white); I believe that the Distutils compiler always sets NDEBUG, which means I can't use assert.h even in debug builds. Mac OS and Linux. Help! *one argument I've heard against asserting in C code called from Python.

  • jquery datatables add checkbox with ajax server side response

    - by dotneter
    I am using C# ASP .NET MVC and ajax calls. I am able to get the display of the table along with all features. But, I don't understand how do I add a checkbox and button. I have tried dom-checkbox as well but can't get it to work. Any help is appreciated. My code looks like this: $(document).ready(function () { $('#personTable').dataTable({ "bJQueryUI": true, "sPaginationType": "full_numbers", "bProcessing": true, "bServerSide": true, "sAjaxSource": "/Home/GetCustomData", "aoColumns": [ { "sSortDataType": "dom-checkbox", "sTitle": "Select", sName": "" }, { "sName": "ID", "sTitle": "ID" }, { "sName": "FirstName", "sTitle": "First Name" }, { "sName": "Email", "sTitle": "Email"}] }); }); My Html is : [table border="1" id="personTable" class="display"] [/table]

  • How to post Source Code inside a Wordpress blog post

    - by jasondavis
    I just started a coding related wordpress bog to basicly discuss topics and store code snippets in. I installed a code syntax highlighter plugin which is very nice but I am having a problem. I just tried posting my first code related blog post and wordpress seems to only post some of my code and then it makes some of it not show, like it filters some of it out even though I am wrapping it in tags like this.. <pre class="brush:php"> <?PHP my code ?> </pre> Some of my code works and some gets filtered out somehow. I know this is possible as many wordpress coding sites show source code. Do I need to modify something to make it work in wordpress? UPDATE I have confirmed that it does save ALL my code into the database it just filters it out when it try to print to screen, so when I go in to edit the post and textbox populates with ALL the source code intact

    Hi, I have been presented with a problem which requires me to print PDF files from a server as part of an ASP.NET web service. The problem is further complicated by the fact that the PDF files I have to print can ONLY be printed using Adobe Reader (they were created using Adobe LiveCycle and have some strange protection in them). This piece of code seems to do the trick in the Visual Studio development web server, but doesn't do anything when the site's running in IIS. I'm assuming this is probably some sort of permissions issue!? I know this is a FAR from ideal thing to be trying to do, but I haven't really got much choice! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Dim starter As ProcessStartInfo Dim Prc As Process ' Pass File Path And Arguments starter = New ProcessStartInfo("c:\program files\...\AcroRd32.exe", "/t ""test.pdf"" ""Printer""") starter.CreateNoWindow = True starter.RedirectStandardOutput = True starter.UseShellExecute = False ' Start Adobe Process Prc = New Process() Prc.StartInfo = starter Prc.Start()

  • xCode "Property access results unused - getters should not be used for side effects"

    - by David DelMonte
    Hi all, I'm getting this warning when I'm calling a local routine. My code is this: -(void)nextLetter { // NSLog(@"%s", __FUNCTION__); currentLetter ++; if(currentLetter > (letters.count - 1)) { currentLetter = 0; } self.fetchLetter; } I'm getting the warning on the self.fetchLetter statement. That routine looks like this: - (void)fetchLetter { // NSLog(@"%s", __FUNCTION__); NSString *wantedLetter = [[letters objectAtIndex: currentLetter] objectForKey: @"langLetter"]; NSString *wantedUpperCase = [[letters objectAtIndex: currentLetter] objectForKey: @"upperCase"]; ..... } I prefer to fix warning messages, is there a better way to write this? Thanks!

  • WMD Markdown and server-side

    Hello, I work since 2 days on WMD & Markdown and i don't find THE solution for stock data with security. I would like users can post html/xml (with WMD) on my site. For the moment, I stock data in Markdown format but If I disabled JavaScript the user can push easy XSS. If I strip_tags or html_entities all data i loose the user html/xml . How can I do ? In my opinion I must html_entities just the code between pre /pre, but how?! my data is in Markdown. After, how I can do for forbid xss attributes : <img src="javascript:alert('xss');" /> Sorry for my rusty english. MaxoU

  • Webcam api error when accessed from ASP.NET Server-side code

    - by Eyla
    I'm tring to use webcam api with asp.net and C#. I included all the library and references I needed for that. the original code I'm use was for windows application and I'm trying to convert it to asp.net web application. I have start capturing button when I click it, it should start capturing but it gives me an error. the error at this line: hHwnd = capCreateCaptureWindowA(iDevice.ToString(), (WS_VISIBLE | WS_CHILD), 0, 0, 640, 480, picCapture.Handle.ToInt32(), 0); and the error message is: Error 1 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.Image' does not contain a definition for 'Handle' and no extension method 'Handle' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.Image' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) • Where do you store the private key for your code signing certificate?

    - by flipdoubt
    I recently acquired a code signing certificate for my employer, but I am not the InstallShield developer who will sign the binaries before distribution. I know I can export the certificate along with its private key, but where do I store it so the InstallShield developer can install it on his machine? Should I remove it from my machine once I give it to the person doing the signing? Where do I store the master copy? Obviously, source control is not the best place, unless I lock down that directory in SVN.

  • How to avoid "source !=null" when using Code Contracts and Linq To Sql?

    - by Florian
    I have the following code using a normal data context which works great: var dc = new myDataContext(); Contract.Assume(dc.Cars!= null); var cars = (from c in dc.Cars where c.Owner = 'Jim' select c).ToList(); However when I convert the filter to an extension method like this: var dc = new myDataContext(); Contract.Assume(dc.Cars!= null); var cars = dc.Cars.WithOwner('Jim'); public static IQueryable<Car> WithOwner(IQueryable<Car> cars, string owner) { Contract.Requires(cars != null); return cars.Where(c => c.Owner = owner); } I get the following warning: warning : CodeContracts: requires unproven: source != null

  • Is there a way to replace the Eclipse JDT's code completion list with a multi-level tree?

    - by Uri
    I know that the eclipse code completion widget can be customized to add new suggestions and even to change the order. I'm wondering whether there's a way to replace the current list format (or single-level tree, if this is a tree control) with a tree of multiple levels. Thus, for example, instead of selecting from a list of methods sorted by name, I will select from a category and then from a subcategory, and then from the items. I'm not too familiar with that part of the SDK, but I'd like to know if this is feasible. Thanks!

  • How do you build a Request-Response service using Asyncore in Python?

    - by Casey
    I have a 3rd-party protocol module (SNMP) that is built on top of asyncore. The asyncore interface is used to process response messages. What is the proper technique to design a client that generate the request-side of the protocol, while the asyncore main loop is running. I can think of two options right now: Use the loop,timeout parameters of asyncore.loop() to allow my client program time to send the appropriate request. Create a client asyncore dispatcher that will be executed in the same asyncore processing loop as the receiver. What is the best option? I'm working on the 2nd solution, cause the protocol API does not give me direct access to the asyncore parameters. Please correct me if I've misunderstood the proper technique for utilizing asyncore.
