Unicode seems to be a problem with Python. i have a text file stores a text string like this '\u0110\xe8n \u0111\u1ecf n\xfat giao th\xf4ng Ng\xe3 t\u01b0 L\xe1ng H\u1ea1' i can read the file and print the string out but it displays incorrectly. • Is there a "good enough" solution for the halting problem?

  It is known that the halting problem cannot have a definite solution, one that a) returns true <== the program does indeed halt, and b) handles any input, but I was wondering if there are good enough solutions to the problem, ones that can maybe handle certain types of program flows perfectly, or is able to identify it when it cannot correctly solve the problem, and so on.... • How do I implement a TextBox that displays "Type here"?

  Displaying "Type here to ..." until the user enters text into a TextBox is a well-known usability feature nowadays. How would one implement this feature in C#? My idea is to override OnTextChanged, but the logic to handle the changes of Text from and to "Type here" is a bit tricky... Displaying "Type here" on initialization and removing it on first input is easy, but I want to display the message every time the entered text becomes empty.

  Hello, I'm using the CKEditor 3.1, and find that whereever there is a box on the page, the ckeditor causes a new empty select box to appear next to it (although it has not been applied to that specific element.) This seems to be a known issue : http://dev.fckeditor.net/ticket/4528 Has anyone been able to get around that? Is there any other good fckeditors you can suggest? Thanks!

• Floating point precision and physics calculations

  The gravity Vector2 in my physics world is (0; 0.1). The number 0.1 is known to be problematic, since "it cannot be represented exactly, but is approximately 1.10011001100110011001101 × 2-4". Having this value for the gravity gives me problems with collisions and creates quite nasty bugs. Changing the value to 0.11 solves these problems. Is there a more elegant solution that doesn't require changing the value at all?

  Well, in a non-static method I could use this.GetType() and it would return the Type. How can I get the same Type in a static method? Of course, I can't just write typeof(ThisTypeName) because ThisTypeName is known only in the runtime. Thanks!
