• Spaceship objects

    - by Jam
    I'm trying to make a program which creates a spaceship and I'm using the status() method to display the ship's name and fuel values. However, it doesn't seem to be working. I think I may have messed something up with the status() method. I'm also trying to make it so that I can change the fuel values, but I don't want to create a new method to do so. I think I've taken a horrible wrong turn somewhere in there. Help please! class Ship(object): def __init__(self, name="Enterprise", fuel=0): self.name=name self.fuel=fuel print "The spaceship", name, "has arrived!" def status(): print "Name: ", self.name print "Fuel level: ", self.fuel status=staticmethod(status) def main(): ship1=Ship(raw_input("What would you like to name this ship?")) fuel_level=raw_input("How much fuel does this ship have?") if fuel_level<0: self.fuel=0 else: self.fuel(fuel_level) ship2=Ship(raw_input("What would you like to name this ship?")) fuel_level2=raw_input("How much fuel does this ship have?") if fuel_level2<0: self.fuel=0 else: self.fuel(fuel_level2) ship3=Ship(raw_input("What would you like to name this ship?")) fuel_level3=raw_input("How much fuel does this ship have?") if fuel_level3<0: self.fuel=0 else: self.fuel(fuel_level3) Ship.status() main() raw_input("Press enter to exit.")

  • Is there a better (i.e vectorised) way to put part of a column name into a row of a data frame in R

    - by PaulHurleyuk
    I have a data frame in R that has come about from running some stats on the result fo a melt/cast operation. I want to add a row into this dataframe containing a Nominal value. That Nominal Value is present in the names for each column df<-as.data.frame(cbind(x=c(1,2,3,4,5),`Var A_100`=c(5,4,3,2,1),`Var B_5`=c(9,8,7,6,5))) > df x Var A_100 Var B_5 1 1 5 9 2 2 4 8 3 3 3 7 4 4 2 6 5 5 1 5 So, I want to create a new row, that contains '100' in the column Var A_100 and '5' in Var B_5. Currently this is what I'm doing but I'm sure there must be a better, vectorised way to do this. temp_nom<-NULL for (l in 1:length(names(df))){ temp_nom[l]<-strsplit(names(df),"_")[[l]][2] } temp_nom [1] NA "100" "5" df[6,]<-temp_nom > df x Var A_100 Var B_5 1 1 5 9 2 2 4 8 3 3 3 7 4 4 2 6 5 5 1 5 6 <NA> 100 5 rm(temp_nom) Typically I'd have 16-24 columns. Any ideas ?

  • Hibernate can't load Custom SQL collection

    - by Geln Yang
    Hi, There is a table Item like, code,name 01,parent1 02,parent2 0101,child11 0102,child12 0201,child21 0202,child22 Create a java object and hbm xml to map the table.The Item.parent is a Item whose code is equal to the first two characters of its code : class Item{ String code; String name; Item parent; List
children; .... setter/getter.... } <hibernate-mapping> <class name="Item" table="Item">

<property name="name" column="name" length="50" not-null="true" /> <many-to-one name="parent" class="Item" not-found="ignore"> <formula>  (select i.code,r.name from Item i where (case length(code) when 4 then i.code=SUBSTRING(code,1,2) else false end))  </formula> </many-to-one> <bag name="children"></bag> </class> </hibernate-mapping> I try to use formula to define the many-to-one relationship,but it doesn't work!Is there something wrong?Or is there other method? Thanks! ps,I use mysql database. add 2010/05/23 Pascal's answer is right,but the "false" value must be replaced with other expression,like "1=2".Because the "false" value would be considered to be a column of the table. select i.code from Item i where ( case length(code) when 4 then i.code=SUBSTRING(code,1,2) else 1=2 end) And I have another question about the children "bag" mapping.There isn't formula configuration option for "bag",but we can use "loader" to load a sql-query.I configure the "bag" as following.But it get a list whose size is 0.What's wrong with it? <class> ... ... <bag name="children"> <key /> <one-to-many class="Item"></one-to-many> <loader query-ref="getChildren"></loader> </bag> </class> <sql-query name="getChildren"> <load-collection alias="r" role="Item.children" /> (select {r.*} from Item r join Item o where o.code=:code and ( case length(o.code) when 2 then (length(r.code)=4 and SUBSTRING(r.code,1,2)=o.code) else 1=2 end )) </sql-query>

  • operator+ overload returning object causing memory leaks, C++

    - by lampshade
    The problem i think is with returing an object when i overload the + operator. I tried returning a reference to the object, but doing so does not fix the memory leak. I can comment out the two statements: dObj = dObj + dObj2; and cObj = cObj + cObj2; to free the program of memory leaks. Somehow, the problem is with returning an object after overloading the + operator. #include <iostream> #include <vld.h> using namespace std; class Animal { public : Animal() {}; virtual void eat() = 0 {}; virtual void walk() = 0 {}; }; class Dog : public Animal { public : Dog(const char * name, const char * gender, int age); Dog() : name(NULL), gender(NULL), age(0) {}; virtual ~Dog(); Dog operator+(const Dog &dObj); private : char * name; char * gender; int age; }; class MyClass { public : MyClass() : action(NULL) {}; void setInstance(Animal &newInstance); void doSomething(); private : Animal * action; }; Dog::Dog(const char * name, const char * gender, int age) : // allocating here, for data passed in ctor name(new char[strlen(name)+1]), gender(new char[strlen(gender)+1]), age(age) { if (name) { size_t length = strlen(name) +1; strcpy_s(this->name, length, name); } else name = NULL; if (gender) { size_t length = strlen(gender) +1; strcpy_s(this->gender, length, gender); } else gender = NULL; if (age) { this->age = age; } } Dog::~Dog() { delete name; delete gender; age = 0; } Dog Dog::operator+(const Dog &dObj) { Dog d; d.age = age + dObj.age; return d; } void MyClass::setInstance(Animal &newInstance) { action = &newInstance; } void MyClass::doSomething() { action->walk(); action->eat(); } int main() { MyClass mObj; Dog dObj("Scruffy", "Male", 4); // passing data into ctor Dog dObj2("Scooby", "Male", 6); mObj.setInstance(dObj); // set the instance specific to the object. mObj.doSomething(); // something happens based on which object is passed in dObj = dObj + dObj2; // invoke the operator+ return 0; }

  • Struts 2 how to display messages saved in a Interceptor which would redirec to another action?

    - by mui13
    in my interceptor, if user doesn't have enough right, there would be a warn message: public String intercept(ActionInvocation invocation) throws Exception { ActionContext actionContext = invocation.getInvocationContext(); Map<String, Object> sessionMap = actionContext.getSession(); User loginUser = (User) sessionMap.get("user"); Object action = invocation.getAction(); if (loginUser != null && loginUser.getRole().getId() != Constant.AUTHORITY_ADMIN) { ((ValidationAware) action).addFieldError("user.authority", ((DefaultAction) action).getText("user.action.authority.not.enough")); return DefaultAction.HOME_PAGE; } return invocation.invoke(); } then, it would redirect to "HOME_PAGE" action, if success, display information in the jsp. So how to display the warn message? i have used two interceptors configed in strust.xml, for admin right requirment: <interceptor-stack name="authorityStack"> <interceptor-ref name="authority" /> <interceptor-ref name="defaultStack" /> <interceptor-ref name="store"> STORE </interceptor-ref> </interceptor-stack> default is: <interceptor-stack name="default"> <interceptor-ref name="login" /> <interceptor-ref name="defaultStack" /> <interceptor-ref name="store"> AUTOMATIC </interceptor-ref> </interceptor-stack>

  • Iterate through XML with xmlstarlet

    I have the following XML:  <test-report> <testsuite> <test name="RegisterConnection1Tests"> <testcase name="testRregisterConnection001"></testcase> <testcase name="testRegisterConnection002"></testcase> </test> <test name="RegisterConnection2Tests"> <testcase name="testRregisterConnection001"></testcase> <testcase name="testRegisterConnection002"></testcase> </test> </testsuite> </test-report> And I want the output: RegisterConnection1Tests,testRregisterConnection001 RegisterConnection1Tests,testRregisterConnection002 RegisterConnection2Tests,testRregisterConnection001 RegisterConnection2Tests,testRregisterConnection002 I'm confused as to how to show the children as I expected xmlstarlet sel -t -m 'test-report/testsuite/test' -v '@name' -v '//testcase/@name' -n $1 to work, though it only inputs: RegisterConnection1TeststestRregisterConnection001 RegisterConnection2TeststestRregisterConnection001

  • Any way for a server-side include to get the file name or URL of the file where it is being included

    - by mikez302
    Is there any way for a server-side include to determine what file it is being included in? I would like to do something like this:

Home

Home

About us

About us

Contact us

Contact us

I just need to know if it is possible using server-side includes, and if so, what the syntax would be.

  • WPF Issues with Control Layout

    - by Brett Powell
    I am making an application that connects to our billing software using its API, and I am running into a few issues getting the layout working properly. I want to make it so that when one of the expanders is minimized, the other window fills the gap, and when it is expanded again the other expander goes back to where it was. Right now when the arrow is clicked on one, there is just an empty gap. I used a DockPanel as the parent which I assumed would automatically do this, but it isn't working. Second question, is there a way to make these areas resizable? I don't want to try and get too frisky with allowing the user to undock the menus (don't even know if that is possible with just straight WPF) but it would be nice if they could change the width/height of them. Also, just a newbie question to C#, but what is the equivalent of a C++ header file? It looks like you just use .cs files, but I am not sure. I want to extract all of my functions that pull the data from the billing software and put them into a different file to clean up the code. Here is my XAML... <Window x:Class="WpfApplication3.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Billing Management" Height="550" Width="754" xmlns:shared="http://schemas.actiprosoftware.com/winfx/xaml/shared" WindowStartupLocation="CenterScreen" WindowStyle="ThreeDBorderWindow"> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="22" /> <RowDefinition /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Menu Height="22" Name="menu1" Margin="0" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Top" HorizontalContentAlignment="Left" IsEnabled="True" IsMainMenu="True"> <MenuItem Header="_File"> <MenuItem Header="_Open" /> <MenuItem Header="_Close" /> <Separator/> <MenuItem Header="_Exit" /> </MenuItem> </Menu> <TabControl Name="tabControl1" HorizontalContentAlignment="Stretch" VerticalContentAlignment="Stretch" BorderThickness="1" Padding="0" TabStripPlacement="Bottom" UseLayoutRounding="False" FlowDirection="LeftToRight" Grid.Row="1"> <TabItem Header="Main" Name="tabItem1" Margin="0"> <DockPanel Name="dockPanel1" LastChildFill="True"> <ListBox Height="100" Name="listBox3" DockPanel.Dock="Top" /> <ListBox Name="listBox4" Width="200" DockPanel.Dock="Right" /> <DockPanel Height="Auto" Name="dockPanel2" Width="Auto" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" LastChildFill="True"> <shared:AnimatedExpander Header="Staff Online" Width="200" Name="expanderStaffOnline" IsExpanded="True" Height="194" BorderThickness="0" DockPanel.Dock="Top" VerticalContentAlignment="Stretch"> <ListBox Name="listboxStaffOnline" Width="Auto" Height="Auto" Margin="0" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Loaded="listboxStaffOnline_Loaded" /> </shared:AnimatedExpander> <shared:AnimatedExpander Header="Test Menu 2" Height="Auto" Name="animatedExpander1" BorderThickness="1" Margin="0,0,0,0" IsExpanded="True" VerticalContentAlignment="Stretch"> <ListBox Height="Auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Name="listBox6" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="0" BorderThickness="1" /> </shared:AnimatedExpander> </DockPanel> <ListBox Height="100" Name="listboxAdminLogs" DockPanel.Dock="Bottom" Loaded="listboxAdminLogs_Loaded" /> <ListBox Name="listBox5" /> </DockPanel> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Support" Name="tabItem2" Margin="0"> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Clients" /> <TabItem Header="Billing" /> <TabItem Header="Orders" /> </TabControl> </Grid> </Window>

  • Do I need to include the 'this' when using a property name in a closure?

    - by Scott Whitlock
    I'm using a list of Actions to store an undo history for an object. Let's say I have a property of my object called myChildObject and it's being changed, so I want to store the undo action where I would set it back to it's current value: public class Class1 { public Class1() { } private readonly List<Action> m_undoActions = new List<Action>(); private SomeObject myChildObject { get; set; } public void ChangeState(SomeObject newChildObject) { // copies the reference SomeObject existingObject = myChildObject; m_undoActions.Add(() => myChildObject = existingObject); myChildObject = newChildObject; } } Looking at the lambda expression, existingObject is a local variable, so it's using a closure to pass a reference to that variable, but what about the property myChildObject? Do I need to use 'this' to preface it? Do I need to make a copy of the 'this' reference to a local variable first? Thanks for helping me understand this closure stuff.

    I'm trying to write a DSL that allows me to do Policy.name do author "Foo" reviewed_by "Bar" end The following code can almost process it: class Policy include Singleton def self.method_missing(name,&block) puts name puts "#{yield}" end def self.author(name) puts name end def self.reviewed_by(name) puts name end end Defining my method as class methods (self.method_name) i can access it using the following syntax: Policy.name do Policy.author "Foo" Policy.reviewed_by "Bar" end If i remove the "self" from the method names, and try to use my desired syntax, then i receive an error "Method not Found" in the Main so it could not find my function until the module Kernel. Its ok, i understand the error. But how can i fix it? How can i fix my class to make it work with my desired syntax that?

  • During Spring unit test, data written to db but test not seeing the data

    - by richever
    I wrote a test case that extends AbstractTransactionalJUnit4SpringContextTests. The single test case I've written creates an instance of class User and attempts to write it to the database using Hibernate. The test code then uses SimpleJdbcTemplate to execute a simple select count(*) from the user table to determine if the user was persisted to the database or not. The test always fails though. I was suspect because in the Spring controller I wrote, the ability to save an instance of User to the db is successful. So I added the Rollback annotation to the unit test and sure enough, the data is written to the database since I can even see it in the appropriate table -- the transaction isn't rolled back when the test case is finished. Here's my test case: @ContextConfiguration(locations = { "classpath:context-daos.xml", "classpath:context-dataSource.xml", "classpath:context-hibernate.xml"}) public class UserDaoTest extends AbstractTransactionalJUnit4SpringContextTests { @Autowired private UserDao userDao; @Test @Rollback(false) public void teseCreateUser() { try { UserModel user = randomUser(); String username = user.getUserName(); long id = userDao.create(user); String query = "select count(*) from public.usr where usr_name = '%s'"; long count = simpleJdbcTemplate.queryForLong(String.format(query, username)); Assert.assertEquals("User with username should be in the db", 1, count); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); Assert.assertNull("testCreateUser: " + e.getMessage()); } } } I think I was remiss by not adding the configuration files. context-hibernate.xml  <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd> <bean id="namingStrategy" class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.FieldRetrievingFactoryBean"> <property name="staticField"> <value>org.hibernate.cfg.ImprovedNamingStrategy.INSTANCE</value> </property> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean" destroy-method="destroy" scope="singleton"> <property name="namingStrategy"> <ref bean="namingStrategy"/> </property> <property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource"/> <property name="mappingResources"> <list> <value>com/company/model/usr.hbm.xml</value> </list> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.use_sql_comments">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.query.substitutions">yes 'Y', no 'N'</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.provider_class">org.hibernate.cache.EhCacheProvider</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_query_cache">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_minimal_puts">false</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_second_level_cache">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.current_session_context_class">thread</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory"/> <property name="nestedTransactionAllowed" value="false" /> </bean> <bean id="transactionInterceptor" class="org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionInterceptor"> <property name="transactionManager"> <ref local="transactionManager"/> </property> <property name="transactionAttributes"> <props> <prop key="create">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="delete">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="update">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="*">PROPAGATION_SUPPORTS,readOnly</prop> </props> </property> </bean> </beans> context-dataSource.xml  <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd"> <bean id="dataSource" class="com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource" destroy-method="close"> <property name="driverClass" value="org.postgresql.Driver" /> <property name="jdbcUrl" value="jdbc\:postgresql\://localhost:5432/company_dev" /> <property name="user" value="postgres" /> <property name="password" value="postgres" /> </bean> </beans> context-daos.xml  <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd"> <bean id="extendedFinderNamingStrategy" class="com.company.dao.finder.impl.ExtendedFinderNamingStrategy"/> <bean id="finderIntroductionAdvisor" class="com.company.dao.finder.impl.FinderIntroductionAdvisor"/> <bean id="abstractDaoTarget" class="com.company.dao.impl.GenericDaoHibernateImpl" abstract="true" depends-on="sessionFactory"> <property name="sessionFactory"> <ref bean="sessionFactory"/> </property> <property name="namingStrategy"> <ref bean="extendedFinderNamingStrategy"/> </property> </bean> <bean id="abstractDao" class="org.springframework.aop.framework.ProxyFactoryBean" abstract="true"> <property name="interceptorNames"> <list> <value>transactionInterceptor</value> <value>finderIntroductionAdvisor</value> </list> </property> </bean> <bean id="userDao" parent="abstractDao"> <property name="proxyInterfaces"> <value>com.company.dao.UserDao</value> </property> <property name="target"> <bean parent="abstractDaoTarget"> <constructor-arg> <value>com.company.model.UserModel</value> </constructor-arg> </bean> </property> </bean> </beans> Some of this I've inherited from someone else. Here is how it looks in code: @XmlRootElement class Root{ @XmlElement(name="entry") public List
entries = Lists.newArrayList(); } @XmlRootElement class Entry{ @XmlElement(name="name",required=true) public String name; } If I supply the following XML for unmarshalling: <root>

</root> I have a problem because the second entry does not contain a name. So unmarshall produces null. Is there a way to customize JAXB to unmarshall a Root object that will only contain the "good" entry?

  • Check if DataRow exists by column name in c#?

    - by waqasahmed
    I want to do something like this: private User PopulateUsersList(DataRow row) { Users user = new Users(); user.Id = int.Parse(row["US_ID"].ToString()); if (row["US_OTHERFRIEND"] != null) { user.OtherFriend = row["US_OTHERFRIEND"].ToString(); } return user; } However, I get an error saying US_OTHERFRIEND does not belong to the table. I want to simply check if it is not null, then set the value. Isn't there a way to do this?

  • What if I have an API method and a contoller/view method with the same name in RoR?

    - by Chad Johnson
    Suppose I want to be able to view a list of products on my site by going to /product/list. Great. So this uses my 'list' view and outputs some HTML which my web browser will render. But now suppose I want to provide a REST API to my client where they can get a list of their products. So I suppose I'd have them authenticate with oAuth and then they'd call /product/list which would return a JSON array of their products. But like I said earlier, /product/list displays an HTML web page. So, I have a conflict. What is normal practice as far as providing APIs in Rails? Should I have a subdirectory, 'api', in /app/controller, and another 'product' controller? So my client would go to /api/product/list to get a list of their products? I'm a bit new to RoR, so I don't have the best grasp of the REST functionality yet, but hopefully my question makes sense.

  • XSLT: need to replace document('')

    - by Daziplqa
    I've the following xslt file:  <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">  <xsl:variable name="USDomesticCountryList">

</xsl:variable> <xsl:template name="IsUSDomesticCountry"> <xsl:param name="countryParam"/> <xsl:variable name="country" select="normalize-space($countryParam)"/> <xsl:value-of select="normalize-space(document('')//xsl:variable[@name='USDomesticCountryList']/entry[@name=$country]/@name)"/> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> I need to replace the "document('')" xpath function, what should I use instead? I've tried to remove it completely but the xsl document doesn't work for me! I need to to so because the problem is : I am using some XSLT document that uses the above file, say document a. So I have document a that includes the above file (document b). I am using doc a from java code, I am do Caching for doc a as a javax.xml.transform.Templates object to prevent multiple reads to the xsl file on every transformation request. I found that, the doc b is re-calling itself from the harddisk, I believe this is because of the document('') function above, so I wanna replace/remove it. Thanks.

  • Django + Virtualenv: manage.py commands fail with ImportError of project name.

    - by Bartek
    This is blowing my mind because it's probably an easy solution, but I can't figure out what could be causing this. So I have a new dev box and am setting everything up. I installed virtualenv, created a new environment for my project under ~/.virtualenvs/projectname Then, I cloned my project from github into my projects directory. Nothing fancy here. There are no .pyc files sitting around so it's a clean slate of code. Then, I activated my virtualenv and installed Django via pip. All looks good so far. Then, I run python manage.py syncdb within my project dir. This is where I get confused: ImportError: No module named projectname So I figured I may have had some references of projectname within my code. So I grep (ack, actually) through my code base and I find nothing of the sorts. So now I'm at a loss, given this environment why am I getting an ImportError on a module named projectname that isn't referenced anywhere in my code? I look forward to a solution .. thanks guys!

  • C# going nuts when I declare variables with the same name as the ones in a lambda

    - by Rubys
    I have the following code (generates a quadratic function given the a, b, and c) Func<double, double, double, Func<double, double>> funcGenerator = (a, b, c) => f => f * f * a + b * f + c; Up until now, lovely. But then, if i try to declare a variable named a, b, c or f, visual studio pops a "A local variable named 'f' could not be declared at this scope because it would give a different meaning to 'f' which is used in a child scope." Basically, this fails, and I have no idea why, because a child scope doesn't even make any sense. Func funcGenerator = (a, b, c) = f = f * f * a + b * f + c; var f = 3; // Fails var d = 3; // Fine What's going on here?
