  • ASP.NET UserControl not defined?

    I've just inherited an app that utilizes usercontrols in a couple ways which I'm not too familiar with. The problem I have right now is that when I attempt to publish this code base, I get a few errors which boil down to where some referenced usercontrols are not defined. Here's an example of one line: Private clientControl As New ASP.usercontrols_clientcontrol_ascx This is a tab strip usercontrol which references other usercontrols to dynamically create the tabs. Now, on the surface I get what is going on here...but the compiler is not accepting this. This tab strip usercontrol is in the root of the project, and the other usercontrols are in a sub folder. error BC30002: Type 'ASP.usercontrols_clientcontrol_ascx' is not defined. I'm sure this is 101 stuff here, but the build works and the publish fails. Any direction would be appreciated.

  • Ruby on Rails - Send JavaScript to view

    Hey, I am creating a website in Ruby on Rails. I have a controller action that renders a view like so: def show time_left = Time.now.to_i - 3.hours.to_i @character = current_user.characters.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @character } end end This is fine as it renders the show.html.erb as I like. I would like however to somehow pass time_left to the view as a Javascript variable as this value is use by a countdown JQuery plugin. I could put a javascript block on the page in the HTML and print a instance variable out like so: <script type="javascript"> $('#countdown').countdown('<%= @time_left =>')</script> But I would like to keep all my JS in a external file and off the page could anyone give some advice on how to implement this?   • why is there different id syntax in the Android docs?

    This page in the Android documentation defines an element id as follows: <TextView android:id="@+id/label" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Type here:" /> However this page defines it as: <EditText id="text" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:textColor="@color/opaque_red" android:text="Hello, World!" /> I thought I had a decent understanding of what was going on until I saw this second example. In the first case, you need the + character so that id 'label' is added to the R file, correct? In the second case, would the EditText's id not be added to the R file because it does not contain the + character? Also, the second example does not include the android namespace on the id. Does having or not having the Android namespace affect whether that id will be added to the R file? Thanks for any clarification.

  • Jquery click function does not load ajax tabs

    I have some tabs that load ajax content. When I click on the tabs it loads the ajax content perfectly no issues works exactly like it does in the Jqueryui demos. But when I try and change tab using an onclick function it opens the tab but doesn't do the ajax. Is this a known issue can it be done?? Do ajax tabs rely on the user clicking the href to know what to load. This is the code: $(".step2next").click(function() $('#signuptabs').tabs("select" , 1));

  • Prevent painting of .NET form while form is loading?

    Is there a way to turn off all visual updates to a .NET form while I am manipulating it? When my program first loads, for example, I set the tab control to the tab that was last open. The user can see the program switching tabs. I have looked into SuspendLayout and ResumeLayout, but either I don't understand what they are doing, or I am not using them correctly, because they don't seem to have any effect. Someone told me that there used to be a way to turn off paint events in VB 6. Does this still exist in .NET?

  • Where should I put some code for loading application data?

    I have a tab-bar and navigation controller application (like Youtube app or Contacts app). Where is the correct place to have the code for loading some data from the web? These data are necessary for all the tabs of the Tab Controller and the app can't display anything before all data are downloaded and parsed from the app (except a loading indicator view of course). Up to now I put it in the AppDelegate but it somehow doesn't feel right.. What's the correct way to do it? Thanks!

    I am sanitizing an input field and manually getting and setting the caret position in the process. With some abstraction, here's the basic idea: <input type="text" onkeyup"check(this)"> And javascript... function check(element) { var charPosition = getCaretPosition(element); $(element).val( sanitize( $(element).val() ) ); setCaretPosition(element, charPosition); } function sanitize(s) { return s.replace(/[^a-zA-Z0-9\s]/g, ''); } This is working fine except when a character does actually get sanitized, my caret position is off by one. Basically I'd like a way to see if the sanitize function has actually replaced a character (and at what index) so then I can adjust the charPosition if necessary. Any ideas?

  • C++ using cdb_read returns extra characters on some reads

    Hi All, I am using the following function to loop through a couple of open CDB hash tables. Sometimes the value for a given key is returned along with an additional character (specifically a CTRL-P (a DLE character/0x16/0o020)). I have checked the cdb key/value pairs with a couple of different utilities and none of them show any additional characters appended to the values. I get the character if I use cdb_read() or cdb_getdata() (the commented out code below). If I had to guess I would say I am doing something wrong with the buffer I create to get the result from the cdb functions.     I have written a program for a stack. (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2617367?tab=votes#tab-top) For this i needed a StringBuilder to be able to show me what was in the stack else i would get the class name instead of the actual values inside. My question is there any other way except for a StringBuilder for such kind of problem? Also in what other kind of cases does this kind of problem happen?     Hello, I need to split long string into a array with following constrains: Each part will have a limited number of character (e.g. not more than 8000 character) Each part can contain multiple sentences (delimited by . [full stop]) but never a partial sentences. Except if the last part of the string (as last part may not have any full stop. The string may contain HTML tags. But the tag can not be divided as ( to ). That means HTML tag should be intact. But starting tag and ending tag can be stay on different segment/chunk. I think regular expression with preg_split can do it. Would please help me with the proper RegEx. Thank you Sadi

  • How to disable WM6.5.3 gestures?

    I am working on a .NET 2.0 application targetting the WM5 SDK, what is the correct way to disable the gesture functionality when running on a WM6.5.3 device that only affects the forms I am using? This is causing an issue when I have a signature capture control inside a tab control - when the signature is entered it's quite common for the tab control to switch tabs as WM6.5.3 picks it up as a gesture. I don't want to disable the gesture functionality device wide, nor can I upgrade the application to target the WM6.5.3 SDK as it still needs to work on older devices. Cheers

  • ASP.NET Treeview Control not expanding on click

    I having an issue with the ASP.NET Treeview control. I create the treeview just fine but the nodes will not expand or collapse. I see there is a javascript error but it is for line 1 character 0 of the webpage, there is nothing at line 1 character 0. I am using the ASP:Treeview control in conjunction with the Telerik controls, but I'm not sure if that is an issue. I saw there was a similar question here but the answer is not pertinent to my site. Has anyone run into this issue before? I've tried searching Google and tried a number of proposed solutions but so far none have worked. Thank you,

    I'm using PHP Version 5.1.6 I have a string (session file) and need to extract a value from it, so i'm searching for a needle in the string but it returns false, I reduced the code to this: $string = ';SERVER_NAME|s:17:"stackoverflow.com";REMOTE_ADDR|s:13:"69.59.196.211";'; $start = strpos($string, ';SERVER_NAME|s:"'); echo $start; // prints nothing because $start = false $start = strpos($string, 'SERVER_NAME|s:'); echo $start; // prints 1; As you noticed if I have the character ';' or the character '"' in the needle, the search returns false, I tryed to use chr() for all characters in the needle but had the same result, If I remove the ';' and the '"' from the string if finds the needle in the string. How can I search special characters in a string using PHP ?

However that it seems that the exclamation character (!) has special significance in the program, and so does not come out in script mode. In order to properly pass credentials from the client, thru the WCF service back to the SQL back end the domain account used to run the service must be configured in Active Directory with the setting "Trust this user for delegation" (Properties - "Delegation" tab). Using C#, how do I access the settings on this tab in Active Directory. I've spent the last 5 hours trying to track this down on the web and can't seem to find it. I think it is tied to the "Account Options" section on the "Account" tab, which is not what we're looking for but this is the closest I've gotten so far. The justification for all this is: We do not have permission to setup the service in QA or in Production, so along with our written instructions (which are notoriously only followed in partial) I am creating a tool that will audit the setup (WCF and SQL) to determine if the setup is correct. This will allow the person deploying the service to run this utility and verify everything is setup correctly - saving us hours of headaches and reducing downtime during deployment.

  • Address calling class

    I have an abstract class Moveable with the method abstract void move() which is extended by the class Bullet and the abstract class Character, and Character is extended by the class Survivor and the class Zombie. In Survivor and Bullet the move() method doesnt require any parameters while in the class Zombie the move() method depends on the actual position of the survivor. The survivor and multiple zombies are created in the class Gui. I wanted to access the survivor in Zombie - what's the best way of doing this? In Gui i wrote a method getSurvivor() but i don't see how to access this method in Zombie? I am aware that as a workaround i could just pass a [Survivor survivor] as parameter in move() and ignore it in Bullet and Survivor, but that feels so ... bad practice.

    I'm using GNU Make 3.81, and I have the following rule in my Makefile: jslint : java org.mozilla.javascript.tools.shell.Main jslint.js mango.js \ | sed 's/Lint at line \([0-9]\+\) character \([0-9]\+\)/mango.js:\1:\2/' This works fine if I enter it directly on the command line, but the regular expression does not match if I run it with "make jslint".     I have a text box that I would like to do some validation on. At the moment I have this code: function updateChanger() { // Validate input var likeMessage = validateInput($("#like").val()); alert(likeMessage); } function validateInput(input) { input = input.replace(/[^a-zA-Z0-9:\(\/\)\s\.,!~]/g, ""); return input; } This successfully trims out unwanted characters in the likeMessage variable, but the character still gets entered into the text box. I would like to stop that from happening. I know it will have something to do with $("#like").val() but the only thing I can think of is just chopping off the end character from the text box value, would this suffice? Thanks for any help!

  • UIWebview handle popup view

    I've a webpage with one text-box and one button. Click on button will show a popup for searching. On popup page,has 2 buttons, "Search" and "Close". Input the text and click Search, the result will display on a list on this popup, click on a row will close the popup and fill the value to text-box on main-page. On Destop browser, it works fine On Safari on iPad, it will open new tab instead of a popup but work fine. UIWebview in my app, on main-page, click the button, I will go to Search page, but when click Search button and close button, nothing happened, I know because 2 buttons will close the popup or the tab, but I don't know how to handle on my Webview, and also I can fill data to main-page or not?   • iphone app hangs in AppDelegate (?)

    No nib/IB, so I've inserted "myAppDelegate" in main and deleted the reference to main.xib in info.plist. Debug continues nicely through all five tab controllers; they seem to have gotten properly loaded into the nav controller. In fact, control passes out of the last "}" in applicationDidFinishLaunching. But there was no (visible) response back at [window addSubview:[tabBarController view]]; and [window makeKeyAndVisible]; statements, much less to the loadView within the first tab (program execution never gets there). The last line is, UIApplication _performInitializationWithURL:sourceBundleID:]. I missed a step? I executed a step improperly?
